I’m thinking our best bet is to have the menu disabled in the mobile view. It seems like a pretty useless feature to begin with anyways. Is this possible? Is there a workaround to disable it?
Hey cdching,
Thanks for your comment, I just replied to your previous message and there’s a solution to the problem you encounter, check it out below. You can also hide all of the menu items for the mobile view. Let me know if it works the way you want or if I can help any further, I’ll be happy to assist you!
Hi,
Thanks for a great theme. I’m trying to use your icon shortcodes, they doesn’t seem to work, only displayed as text.
[row] content here…[/icon] other content here…[/icon] content here…/icon
Hello zeguestlist,
Thanks for your comment. Make sure that the opening and closing shortcode tags are properly set. I suggest you copy/past the examples directly from the “Shortcodes” tab in the Theme Options page and customize the variables, it’s the best way to get started!
Please feel free to contact me if you need any further help with this, I’ll be happy to assist you
Best,
Jonathan
Hi,
Great theme, thank you, I’m just trying to work out if its possible to embed a video in place of a slide in the main slider? I would compromise and just have video shortcode in a right hand column, but if there’s a way to have a video WITHOUT loosing the main slider itself that would be even better.
I read in the comments somewhere you offered up some code in a div wrapper and said to put that in place of the image, but I have a feeling I was looking at the non-wordpress version as it didn’t work for me… just keeps stripping stuff out or trying to push it through timthumb, so its kind of gone beyond my rudimentary understanding of php and html!
Hello ipseity,
Thanks for your comment. It’s indeed possible to embed both videos and images in the slider, check out this answer for detailed instructions: http://themeforest.net/item/spark-responsive-onepage-html5-wordpress-theme/discussion/2372522?page=7#comment_2333004
I hope that helps! Please feel free to contact me if you need any further help with this, I’ll be happy to assist you

hi, i am interested in this theme, but i see no one is answering for about a month now…
is it still supported or what ?
thx
Help! I updated the theme today to v1.9 and the site won’t jump with navigation and some of my sections have weird text! www.missiondrivenbeans.com
thanks
Hello newleaf-design,
Thanks for your comment. How did you proceed to update the theme? Did you follow the simple instructions from the FAQ? What you should have done is installing the new version of the theme like you would install a separate new theme, if you didn’t do that but instead manually replaced the files then I recommend you to re-install the latest version of the theme on top of your current installation, it might fix any remaining issues.
Also, in case you’re making use of images from the previous version of the theme (like icons) in your pages then you must leave the previous version of the theme intact. I can see that there are many “404 Not Found” errors when loading your site (mostly images pointing to the previous version of the theme, which seems to have been removed).
Beside the images, your site seems to be working fine as I write!
I hope these tips helps! Please feel free to contact me if you need any further help with this, I’ll be happy to assist you
Best,
Jonathan
I was also considering buying this theme, but I’m thinking without support, I probably wouldn’t be able to make it work well. I originally came here looking for a blog option on the theme. Glad I read through the comments before continuing.

Hello TaniaDakka,
Thank you for your message. I do offer full support for my Spark WordPress theme, but with all the requests through both emails/PMs/comments and other ways it is being sometime difficult for me to follow the flow, however rest assured that in the end everyone gets an answer and almost always a working solution or fix for any issue encountered!
If you decide to use the Spark WordPress theme I will be pleased to assist you with its installation and customization as much as I can
Best,
Jonathan
Hi JoNa,
Thank you for responding. I, unfortunately, already bought a theme from Pego – which I found out is bad for SEO. So as much as I would love a new theme, I’m going to have to wait to see others later. Good luck! In the meantime, if you need any help with anything, don’t hesitate to ask!
Have a good day:)
I’ve emailed him a few times for support with no response. Very disappointing.
Dear cdching,
Thanks for your messages and sorry again for my late reply! I hope your issue has been addressed successfully (see comment #2988590), please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you, I’ll be happy to assist further! Best, Jonathan
when i tried to install the theme, i get this error below:
The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini. Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, cgiadmin@yourhostingaccount.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Hello davelexe,
Thanks for your comment. If the ZIP file of the Spark theme is too big to be uploaded via the admin interface (in regard to your server’s configuration) then you can upload it through FTP instead. Simply unzip the content of the theme and upload it – using a FTP client (see with your hosting provider for credentials) – to the following directory: So the folder “spark-v1.9” should be found within this path:I hope that helps! Please feel free to contact me if you need any further help with this, I’ll be happy to assist you

If I buy Regular Licence – can I make 2 websites with this licence?
Hello di4bis,
Thanks for your comment. I’m no expert when it comes to the licences, but from my understanding after reading it, the Regular Licence is good for one website, therefor you would have to acquire two of them if you have two sites. You can read more about the Regular and Extended licences on this page: http://themeforest.net/licenses/regular_extended
I hope that helps! Please feel free to contact me if you need any further help with this, I’ll be happy to assist you

hello,
please how can i change the currency on the price page from $ to £.
Hello davelexe,
Thanks for your comment. You can set the currency symbol this way:
You can find more information about the available attributes for each shortcode in the “Shortcode” tab from the Theme Options page.
I hope that helps! Please feel free to contact me if you need any further help with this, I’ll be happy to assist you

Jonathan
Hello davelexe,
Thanks for your message and for the suggestion, I’ll try to improve the Shortcodes Documentation by adding pictures. To answer your question regarding additional pages, you can remove the author information and comments directly from the WordPress Admin. When editing the page, uncheck the boxes under Discussion>
I hope that helps! Please feel free to contact me if you need any further help with this, I’ll be happy to assist you

Thanks for the support. Just one other question, is it possible to make the header so that it is not docked at the top in the mobile view? I’ve got the menu items hidden, so now my logo just stays docked at the top, but that seems pointless now. Any thoughts?
Hello cdching,
Thanks for your interesting question. Yes it’s possible to change the header to a static positioning, and it’s actually already the case for old mobiles that don’t support fixed-positioning. So what you can do is to edit the main javascript file – or more simply add the following code snippet into the “Tracking Code Snippet” field (see the “Google Analytics” tab in the Theme Options page):
<script> $(document).ready(function() { if (isMobile) { $("html").removeClass("modern-mobile").addClass("mobile"); isModernWebkitMobile = false; supportPositionFixed = false; // Assume that all other mobile platforms DON'T support position-fixed } }); </script>That code will override the logic of the main javascript file so it always deliver a static header – even for new mobiles that do support fixed positioning. By the way that field is intended for a “Tracking Code Snippet” but that will work. A cleaner option (but more complex) would be to make the appropriate changes in the javascript file itself and to use the child theme provided…
I hope that helps! Please feel free to contact me if you need any further help with this, I’ll be happy to assist you

I am just getting started with this theme.
I am finding that every time I do a theme options update and save changes, I do not see the changes on my site when I refresh:
http://dev.badertv.com/I have to first update my “Spark Landing-page.” Then I will see the changes. Why is this?
Hello tanya_meronk,
Thanks for your comment. I can see that you’re using the “WP Super Cache” plugin, I believe it creates a cached version of your pages (including the landing-page) which it updates only when you actually edit the said pages.
I suggest you disable this plugin temporarily while you’re still working on the customization of your site, and enable it back again one you’re done!
I hope that helps! Please feel free to contact me if you need any further help with this, I’ll be happy to assist you

Hi Jonathan,
Can you tell me if there’s a way to increase the height of the slider image area? I find it too small for the images I want to work with. Thanks.
Hello cairns_nic,
Thanks for your comment. You can use the shortcode variant of the slider instead, it will allow you to put images with a custom size. For usage see the “Shortcodes” tab in the Theme Options page. And to embed the slider in a dark container like the original welcome-block, please see this answer (just replace the [video] shortcode with your shortcode-based slider): http://themeforest.net/item/spark-responsive-onepage-html5-wordpress-theme/discussion/2372522?page=7#comment_2333004

Hi again Jonathan,
I’m trying to use a WPML plug in to have both english and spanish pages….do you have any experience with this and if so can you give me some suggestions as to how to get it to work with your theme? I have it installed and also have most of the spanish pages done but have no idea how to get the options of choosing the languages in the menu area of my site. I’ve followed all of the different options/steps offered but it doesn’t want to show up for some reason. Could you pass on some advice please, I’m pretty stuck. Thanks.
Nicole
Hello Nicole,
Thanks for your comment. Since version 1.8 the Spark theme makes use of the “WP Loop” for the landing-page, as the previous method used was known to not work with some multilingual plugins. Are you using a recent version of Spark? If not you can try to update the theme and see if it improves the situation!
I have personally no experience with multilingual plugins but a few pages back there was someone who successfully used a similar plugin with Spark, it featured a nice drop-down language switcher. I can’t remember on what page it was but perhaps if you have some time you can try to go through the comments?
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist you! I’m looking forward to being helpful
Best,
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
I will do that thanks! Hopefully I’ll come across that post, I’m sure it will help me out a great deal. I’ll also update my version, I haven’t done that yet. If you have a minute can you please answer my other question before this one….as always thanks for all your help!

Hey Nicole,
Thanks for your message, I’ve just replied to your previous question

Hello,
I recently purchased and installed the Spark theme, and really love it, but for some reason the content doesn’t display when I’m not logged in! I watched the theme, wp and page settings, but can’t get the content to display.. I only get a notice “Nothing found for web” (web is my subfolder). And when I log in into the back-end I can see everything..
I hope you can help me with this.
Regards, Marcel
Hi Marcel,
Thanks for your comment and email! After a quick search on Google I could find similar problems with WordPress due to pages not being “published” but sitting as “draft”. Could you make sure that all the Spark pages have the “published” status? You can check that when editing the pages, it should be in the right column!
I hope that helps, please let me know if that solves your issue
Best,
Jonathan
Hello Jona, thanks for your reply, but as mentioned, I already looked at the theme, wordpress and pages settings, and for as far as I can see everything looks good. I’ve got a lot of experience with Wordpress already, so the page settings was the first thing I thought about, but they are all published, and open for everyone to see. If you have any options I would love to hear them, otherwise I’ll try reinstalling the child and/or parent theme…
Regards, Marcel
Hello Marcel,
Thanks for your reply. This is weird and is the first time such problem is reported here! If you want me to have a look at your install please feel free to send me credentials to the admin panel so I can take a look. I look forward to resolve the issue you’re confronted with! Best, Jonathan
Hello Jonathan, sorry for the late reply, Can I email you directly? I don’t want to put login information here… My direct email is: m.oerlemans@gmail.com if you want to contact me. Thanks in advance!
Regards, Marcel
Hello great theme but i have a small problem
I can’t use the auto menu because i need to translate the theme in multiple languages and i set up the wordpress menu normaly but after the scrolling function no loger works. The navigation works but it jumps on he section of the pages with no scroling. Is there a problem with the funczion or it is supose to work
Hello dodo007,
Thanks for your comment! This should not be happening, how did you set the custom links of your menu? Do the links start with the #hash symbol or with “http://...”? You must create custom links that start with the hash (#) symbol for the scroll to be animated (smooth) like explained in the PDF documentation the came with the theme.
Let me know if that helps!
Best,
Jonathan
I appreciate all the support you provide.
1) Request: could you please post instructions for setting a new Google font for the site headlines? (I want to use Rokkitt). I think this would help a lot of people to customize your theme.
2) just a suggestion: after reading all 19 pages of comments, I see that some questions recur (I also see that it’s tedious to search for help!) You might want to add more answers to the FAQ section to make it easier for your customers to find answers. Or create an index of questions, pointing to the answers you’ve already provided here.
Regarding my question above about fonts: I used the plugin “WP Google Fonts” to set headline fonts, and it works, as long as you override the H tags and set the appropriate font weight using the plugin. But if you think we should assign fonts differently, please let us know! Thanks.
