Hey, this is great. Just checked it on my HTC Android and it looks and works beautifully. Lightening fast as well :) Thinking about using this as a mobile website / mobile web app. Real nice. Bookmarked!

Nice job. It gets a respectable (high “B”) – 86/100 score here…

Thanks! I’m getting a 89/100 score now :p But the HTML5 static version of Spark remains the fastest with a score of 98/100, thanks to the image sprites used for all the icons!

Looks great JoNa,

The only issue I see is that some of the images aren’t showing up properly on the demo. Other than that though, it looks pretty spectacular!

Good luck with sales :)!

I’ve tried to resize this in Both FireFox latest and IE latest but see some strange things.

When the Features area is scrolled to the right everything on that half only goes to shades of white and gray whilst the original side is black with white text.

Is there an option in Admin to change the background colour behind the text to something else other than black or white? If the theme is gray I’d like a dark shade of gray rather than black.

The text “Make it Yours” stays the same size and thus is hidden .. I am looking for mobile screens that do not require scrolling.

The same happens with the menu and only Welcome and features can be seen the other two are hidden.

Hi sapere_aude,

Thanks for your comment. However I’m not sure I understand what exactly you are experiencing, but to answer your question, yes there is an option to change the layout color to a fully white or a fully back context!

Regarding the title “Make it Yours”, why is it hidden? I really can’t reproduce what you are experiencing, for me the title is always visible, perhaps you could make a screenshot of what’s happening?

Same for the top menu, I can’t visualize nor understand what you’re describing here, I can always see the entire menu in his full width, whatever screen size I try! You got me confused, could you please explain a little further what is the issue you encounter?

Thanks! I’m looking forward for your reply. Best, Jonathan

Hi,

Great theme just purchased and installed. The demo looks great but when activating on http://www.citycleanexpress.com (using WordPress 3.3.2), the menu does not work in ‘auto-mode’? If I switch to ‘manual’ menu, I’m able to navigate to each individual page using the menu builder in WordPress but the functionality desired is the ‘one-page scroll’ effect, showing each of the ‘pages’ as you scroll down. It seems the auto-mode menu is looking for ‘sections’ not pages? How can I enable this?

Many thanks in advance, Denise.

Hi,

Sections are nothing else than WordPress pages. You only need to specify which page to display in each section. Go to the Theme Options page and under the Landing-page Sections tab you will be able to define each section, including the ID or title of the WordPress page to display in each section.

This is the last field, you can’t miss it, here is a screenshot: http://www.maddim.com/demos/spark-r6/images/WP-admin_ThemeOptions_Landing-page-Sections_Screenshot.png

Please let me know if you need any further assistance with this, I’ll be happy to help ;)

Sorry for what might seem like a stupid question, but here goes…

Whilst I appreciate that this theme is a ‘one page’ theme, is it possible to have other pages that link from the main page?

i.e. I would need a page for terms and conditions, cookie/privacy policy, and an actual page for my customers to sign up for my service etc. Possibly also an FAQs page too.

Cheers.

A.

Hi arksey,

Yes! This theme supports most features of WordPress, including pages, posts, comments, archives, attachments, and so one! It’s definitely not a stupid question as I didn’t make it clear in the presentation.

You can include links to other pages in the top menu. When viewing another page than the landing page and clicking on a link that is part of the landing page, it will automatically take you back to the landing page and scroll to the appropriate section!

I hope that answers your question. Best, Jonathan

JoNa

Hi,

Yes, all the shortcodes are listed in the “Theme Options” page under the “Shortcodes” tab, there are explanations and examples for each shortcode.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with. Best, Jonathan

Great theme. Looking to purchase. The dynamic menu does not work on iphone? Just the web version? Cheers

Hi rezolution,

It works, it’s just that it isn’t fixed. It’s a design choice as I believe it’s better to avoid fixed positioned elements on small screen resolutions, and allow more space for the actual content.

You can however force the desktop behavior by editing the main.js file and add the following on line 19:

isMobile = false; // force desktop behavior

Please note however that older versions of iOS don’t actually support fixed positioning, so it might break the scrolling for users with non-updated iPhones.

Great theme by the way, but I ran into a snag with your custom class for mobile: <p class="hide-for-mobile">Some text</p>

This was provided in the theme but when I look at it in my Android (HTC Evo) phone the text that should be hidden is still showing. Is there an update to this technique you might suggest?

JoNa

Hi, thanks for your comment! Yes this class actually hides elements for tablets, but not for mobiles (oddly you might say..), I’m fixing this right now! Best, Jonathan

Hi! Great Theme! Is there any way to remove the Dollar signs in the pricing widget-thingy? i’m european and would like to use € signs :)

JoNa

Oops sorry looks like I forgot to document this one! You can change the $ sign with whatever you want by setting the “currency” attribute, for example:

[pricing_column title="Cloud" amount=25 currency="€" amount_detail="/mo" ...]

I’ll update the doc, thanks for mentioning it! Best, Jonathan

Hello, That’s odd, looks like it can’t reach the timthumb.php script. Actually it seems that I can’t access none of the PHP scripts (ajax.php, min-merge-cache.php, etc.), could it be related to your hosting configuration?

Please feel free to send me a temporary FTP access in order to investigate further — you can use the contact form on my profile page.

Looking forward for your reply. Best, Jonathan

Like your Theme.

Could you please tell me how many menu links this theme can have at the top. If it can handle more than the demo will it collapse into a drop down box.

Are you using a basic form or has it got some more advanced features like dropdown and check boxes?

Thanks

JoNa

Hi RakieM,

Thank you for your comment. The top menu can contain as much items as the place allows for it (tip: use short titles/subtitles). No dropdown menu available at this time (maybe for further updates).

Regarding the form packaged with Spark, it’s a standard contact form, but if you need more fields I would suggest you to have a look at the Contact Form 7 plugin which offers unlimited possibilities to easily add forms into your pages ;)

Let me know if you have any further question, I’ll be happy to answer. Best, Jon

Hi Jona

Is it possible to have the menu bar inserted below the logo. Is it possible to make the links slightly bigger? Is it possible to increase the spacing between each menu link (possible fat fingers).

Unfortunately I cannot test this properly on a mobile to see how this works. A QR code would be good to test it on a mobile.

Thanks

JoNa

Hi RakieM,

All that is possible with a few CSS editing, so you will need CSS skills in order to significantly change the layout structure. Note however that for simple customization like colors, images and texts you don’t need any special skills as they are directly integrated in the admin panel.

Here you go for the QR code, or simply go to this URL from your mobile’s web browser: www.maddim.com/demos/spark-wp/ :

Thank you so much. Looks good on my Samsung Galaxy s.

One last thing could you add an option that has a floating button at the bottom of the browser that can take the user back to the main menu. I noticed that you have to scroll back to the top manually. (making things easier for the user).

Default-user

Hi Jona

I mentioned the possibility of a floating link earlier.

I think a better solution would be to have the menu bar float, rather than scroll off the screen. Would this be possible?

Thanks

Me again

Sorry to be a nuisance. I refer the menu floating on My samsung, Not floating with QR code test. The menu does float on the PC web browser thou.
