Hi Neilroy123,

Thanks for your message. If this is a new site placed on a newly created domain then I believe that you will have to submit it to search engines (so they are aware that a new domain/site exists and are able to index it). For specific procedures there are many instructions available on the web: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=submit+new+site+to+search+engines

The other way to do it is to place at least one link that points to your new site on one that is already indexed. For example you could reply to this message with a link pointing to your new site, then wait a few days and it should be indexed ;)

I hope that helps, please feel free to let me know if there’s anything I can help you with! Best, Jonathan

Hi there JoNa,

for some reason my latest posts widget doesnt sort from new to old anymore since I updated to the latest version (2.0). When I try enabling my older version (1.3) it sorts correct. Any Idea ?

best regards,

Joop

Hi Joop,

Thanks for your message and for reporting this to me, I’ll have a look at it. Are you using the WordPress’s default widget or is it a custom one? If you can share a link to your site where I can see this behavior it would be great ;) Thanks! Jon

Yes, the default widget. What it actually does is that is sorts correct from new to old, with the exception that it always puts the oldest post on top of that. thanks in advance for looking at www.snap-360.nl

Hi, the contact form doesn’t seem to work. It says message sent but I’m not receiving any test messages I’m sending. Thanks.

Hello ukune,

Thanks for reporting this, did you set your own email address in the Theme Options page under the “Contact Form” tab?

If you have already set your email address correctly then try checking your spam folder, and eventually feel free to share the URL of your site so I can have a look ;) Best, Jonathan

Hi,

I belive there is a bug. I have custom css for my child theme (style.css file). However when I change the background using the “send to option tree” method from the theme menu all my css for the fonts on the regular pages are not used. This is not the case for .dark pages.

Any ideas?

Hello gatanass,

Thanks for your message. When using custom colors for the background, it will try to determine if the chosen color is dark or bright and will add the ”.dark” class to the in accordance.

This was implemented in order to display white texts on dark backgrounds, and black texts on bright backgrounds.

When using an image as a background, make sure to also select a color background that is similar to the colors in your image (preferably a color of the same brightness of the image, or simply “black” if you want white texts, or “white” if you want black texts).

Regarding using custom CSS, if your background is dark (and therefor displaying white texts) then prepend the class ”.dark” to all your CSS rules.

For example:
h1 {
    color: blue;
    size: 18px;
    text-shadow: 0px 1px 0px #fff;
}
.dark h1 {
    color: yellow;
    size: 18px;
    text-shadow: none;
}

The variant with ”.dark” targets specifically all ‹h1› titles that are on a dark background, omitting it will result on the Spark default styling to be applied.

I hope that helps and if not please feel free to send me a link to your site where you can’t get your CSS to work, I’ll be happy to assist you ;) Best, Jonathan

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. I did know about the .dark and so one but didn’t know that there is some intelligence that checks for the background colour and then adjust the colour of the fonts. How about the header bottom-border. It also changes color when the header gets too dark? Is that correct?

JoNa

Hey, yes that is correct! the bottom border of the header also switches style whether the .dark class is applied to a parent element or not ;)

Hi setubal,

Thanks for your message! You can use this third-party plugin: Contact Form 7, it’s a great tool that allows to create forms with any custom fields.

Currently it won’t look exactly the same as the default form, however I will be releasing an update for the theme soon with better integration with this plugin.

I hope that answers you question, please feel free to let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with, I’d be happy to assist ;) Best, Jonathan

Hi,i have the same issue like ukune, the contact form doesn’t seem to work. There is a sent message but I’m not receiving any messages I’m sending. I have check the spam,no message. Thanks.

Hello Lozell,

Thanks for reporting this issue. If you are getting a successful confirmation message when submitting the form, it means that the PHP   mail() function returns true, so from my understanding if no mail is actually sent then I believe that either the destination email address is incorrect or that the web host is not going through the sending process for whatever reason.

Here is what I can suggest:
  • Double-check recipient address in the Theme Options page under the Contact Form tab.
  • On the landing-page, try submitting the Contact Form once filled with an existing email address (other than yours) for the “email” field.
    • If getting a success confirmation message: then I recommend asking your web hosting provider “why emails are not sent although the PHP mail() function used returns true”.
    • If not getting a success confirmation message: then please send me a link to your site so I can take a look at the error returned using Firebug or F12 in Chrome.
  • Alternatively as a quick fix it is possible to use a third-party plugin for the Contact Form (see Contact Form 7), I will add better support for this useful plugin in the coming update ;)

I am looking forward to your reply, and in the meantime I am truly sorry for any inconvenience encountered! Please keep me posted ;) Best, Jonathan

Hi,

I have sent you an email last week but haven’t received a reply. I’m having an issue with the size of the “support” article. The bottom of the article gets cut off for some reason. The only way I can fix it is to specify a specific height for the article, like 560px.

Here is a an example of my page WITHOUT specifying the height: http://tinyurl.com/cljwwe5

and here’s an example where I specify the height to 560px: http://tinyurl.com/c9vp8xz

I also have a 3D CU3ER slider on my webpage and the page seems to stop scrolling when the mouse hovers over the slider. How can I get rid of this behaviour? I want the page to keep scrolling when the user hovers over the slider. I have tried the slider on a different website and it works fine, so I think there might be some interfering code from the spark javascript code. Please help me with these issues!

Hello….

I am not very experienced about using WP themes….

I want to use a single page “in the front”, but want to have also a blog with entries, and would be great to “link” lastest posts in the front page somehow…

is it possible?

Hello feanorknd,

Yes this theme supports full Blog features, you can also add a “Blog” menu entry in the header right from the backend ;)

I hope that answers your question, and please feel free to let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with, I’ll be happy to help! Best, Jonathan

Hello

Thank you for your comment. The error returned seems to be a permission issue, please see this FAQ for instructions on how to fix this: http://themeforest.net/item/spark-responsive-onepage-html5-wordpress-theme/2372522/faqs/10062

Hi,

I purchased this theme last week and am having a few issues trying to modify some basic information. Where can I override the default sizing of the slideshow? I want to make the images taller than 280, and don’t want to have to modify the shortcode each time. I just want to make the default changed. I’m not worried about future updates to the theme overwriting this.

The other issue I’m having is that I need to create seperate backgrounds for each Page/Section. So instead of having just the two light and dark contrasting backgrounds, I need to have a separate background for each menu item, that extends past the 960pixel width of the margin. I need to make it responsive to browser sizes. I am very comfortable with modifying the php, I just need to know the best place to make this adjustment.

Other than that, the theme seems pretty good so far. I’m looking forward to being able to make it work the way my clients need it to by next week. Thank you.

Hello PunkaTess,

Thank you for your message! You can change the 280px height in the /php/shortcodes.php file, look for the “welcome_block” shortcode, or simply go to line 371, there change the 280 value in &h=280 to your custom height.

Regarding custom backgrounds for each section it is possible using basic CSS, please see this answer of mines for details: http://themeforest.net/item/spark-responsive-onepage-html5-wordpress-theme/discussion/2372522?page=5#comment_2252075

I hope that helps, please feel free to let me know if there anything else I can assist you with ;) Best, Jonathan

Hi! I have been searching for a one page theme/framework for quite some time and think this may be “the one”. First of all, can you tell me if this is a theme or a framework? It appears to be a minimalistic theme (which is fine) but I’m curious how extensible it is and how often the updates will come as it appears it hasn’t been updated since December (a little concerning).

I’d also like to if it is designed to work in flawlessly with child themes.

Please advise… and thanks for presenting this to the TF crowd. On the surface, it is absolutely beautiful!

PunkaTess Purchased

Hi kelleychambers,

I can answer a few of your questions for you. It is a full wordpress theme, not just a framework. I can’t answer about the updates or anything.

It also comes with a child theme, which is what I’m using. So you can easily make changes to the child theme and it’s seemless.

Hope that helps you a bit.

How does your theme work with Woo Commerce plug in? I’m thinking of using it. Thanks.
