Discussion on Stacker - Responsive Wordpress Theme

Love the theme!

Is there anyway to embed SoundCloud players at the top of blog posts, like with the Vimeo and YouTube videos? I did this on the HTML version of Stacker, but can’t seem to figure out how to do it on the WP version.

Also, the SoundCloud players seem to be displaying differently when in this theme. Stacker Display and Stock SoundCloud display. When I have Soundcloud “Sets”, it doesn’t list the other tracks under the waveform, it’s just blank like this.

Hi, yes, to enable this select the “Link” post format and then paste somewhere in your content [soundcloud/] shortcode (you can copy it right from the soundcloud website), then update the post and it should show similar post to the one with the video ;). I also suggest to use the [soundcloud hide=”true”/] parameter to ensure that you don’t have a duplicate soundcloud in your post ;). Should you have any further questions, please, don’t hesitate contacting me again.

Thank you!

You’re very welcome :)

Hi there, is there any way to set a custom landing page with this theme?

Hi, in case you want to set your custom “Home Page” just before the index load, then you have to create your own front-page.php file and fill it with your custom content. If you have problems with that, let me know and I’ll try to help you as much as I can ;).

Could you please help me to set up multiple portfolios for multiple categories? I have two categories and I need a separate portfolio page for each. I have searched for an explanation in the comments, but can’t find one. I also can’t find a category page layout… so I’m at a loss.

Thanks! Nate

Hi Nate! I am sorry for late reply, could you please repost this on ticksy.jansimecek.com ? I’ll try to help you there as much as I can ;)

We have a site that uses the Stacker theme. We have it configured so that the site dynamically switches to the Stacker theme when users access the site via mobile devices.

Here is the site: TNReport.com

QUESTION: On the EXACT same URL, the desktop version of the theme shows the page fine. However, on the mobile version (using Stacker), the page gets a 404 page not found error. Why?

Here is a sample URL that works on a desktop, but 404s on the mobile: http://tnreport.com/videos/beat-lamar-vetting-sessions-explained/

Hi, you should have a new comment on ticksy. Thank you and sorry for your inconvenience.

Thanks for the quick reply. As it turns out, it was an issue with custom post types. If a site is switching between a desktop theme and a mobile theme and the site uses custom post types, you need to make sure those custom post types are defined in the functions.php of the mobile theme as well.

One way to achieve this is by creating a small plugin. The issue is explained here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/custom-post-type-permalink-404-page-not-found

Great ;)

Hi! I am using Stacker theme for my website. But I realised that the pinch to zoom doesn’t work in iphone and ipad. Please let me know how to fix this. Thank you!

Hi, this doesn’t work because this is how the actual mobile theme is defined ;). But to remove this, remove this line:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width">

Hi, I loved the plugin and so bought it. I am planning to use it along with my desktop theme. I have installed the theme switcher plugin and it seems to be working. The issue that i have is for Desktop theme i am using a static front page, while for the mobile, i just want to use “Latest Posts”. This doesnt seem to be happening. By default the stacker theme automatically takes the static front page, when enabled through the switcher plugin. Anyway i can make it happen. My desktop static page is very heavy and i dont want it for mobile.

Awaiting your reply.

Is there a way to control how my text is displayed on the Post Archive page? Mine only show the first line of text

Does this theme support woocommerce?

Is it possible to set two different portfolios within this theme? As in two separate pages, each with different portfolio content?

I have a moderate working knowledge of html/css/php, but little java just yet.

Stacker not work (with Wordpress 3.6) when i try to install it. I have this message :

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IF in /home/xboxplor/www/wp-content/themes/Stacker/shortcodes.php on line 1
