After hearing all the raving about the support from this seller, I have to say I’m speechless after the support reply I received. You can go to the following page: http://themes.truethemes.net/Sterling-HTML/page-template-shortcodelist.html and see that resizing the page causes the first tab control to draw incorrectly. The tech support reply? “Refresh the page.” I may remove this comment if they get it together and fix this, or at least reply with something intelligent, but until then, I’d have to say avoid this seller if you’re looking for decent support.

The javascript for the tabs works by determining the users viewport size and then adjusting the tabs accordingly. The tabs were built for mobile compatibility.

This just gets better. Here’s an actual quote from this now-comical support ticket: “Your customers can have very different monitor size and so their browser size will be different, but I am sure your customer will not resize their browser when they view your website.” This support tech literally said that only people with OCD ever resize their browser window for any reason while “surfing the internet.” I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Mobile compatibility isn’t the problem. But isn’t your product supposed to work with desktop computers, too? Why can’t you just respond to a resize event and recalculate the layout? Are you seriously not going to fix this?

We will definitely consider re-visiting the current functionality but nothing is broken and we do not see the need for your requested functionality. The tabs have enough play in them for desktop browsers if a user is resizing the window to a smaller size. We’re truly sorry if you’re not happy with this.

We’ve got over 7 years of working on high-level corporate websites and we’re very much aware of end-user requirements.

If you’re completely unhappy with our product or service we’re very happy to provide you with a refund. We’re not going to go back and forth trying to prove our case as we’ve not got anything to prove.

Hi! I bought this theme and I use it with great satisfaction. I just have a little request to make. With the theme it is provided a useful “404-page not found” html page. I’d like to provide my site a “403-not authorized page” as well and I’d like to keep the overall look and feel. To do so, I lack a 403 image. If you have the psd it will be very easy to provide the 403 image. Can you do that and email it to me? Thousands thanks.

This is what I call an “excellent customer service”. Seriously, you deserve each of your awards. A little question more. I experence some problems with Internet Explorer (the other browsers are just fine) when I try to see VIMEO videos embedded in the site. Is this a solvable issue?

Perhaps try doing a google search for vimeo video bugs in the version of IE you experiencing issues with.

I’m not new to HTML but I am new to using an html template opposed to using Wordpress or Joomla.

I would like to purchase this template, but I am curious.. Is there a back end with the blog, or an editor of some sort, or when I would like to make a new blog post do I do it in strictly HTML?

There is not a back-end section for the Blog. Sterling is only an HTML template and is generally used by customers to plug into a 3rd-party Content Management System.

Yes you can indeed add dynamic functionality to the HTML templates however it will require a custom-built PHP back-end system (SQL database, etc).

We unfortunately do not currently offer a service for this type of functionality. We recommend using the Wordpress system for very easy-to-use PHP dynamic website.

Hey, when I open the site in IE8 things arent displaying properly because IE8 doesnt recognize tags like “section” that you have in the HTML. Is there a IE8-friendly version bc this template isnt too useful for IE8? It seems like the language this is in is more comparable to HTML 5 as opposed to 4.0 Transitional (which as we all know is what most people/companies still use) Please help! :)

Hi,

I purchased the Sterling HTML template.  Love it, but I can’t get the “homepage-jquery-sidebar” slider to auto run. Tried all the instructions in help file docs. In fact it doesn’t work on your website demo. Does it only work by manually clicking the buttons.  Noticed WP version works fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a question regarding the form field styling in the Sterling template;

I’d like to use the form field styling and validation features from your Karma (which I also bought) template instead. Can you advise how I can do this please?

I had intended to buy this theme, but after reading all of the repetitive

replies I’m glad I didn’t.

I understand the desire to drive traffic to your own site, but if you really can’t answer some of the simple requests here on ThemeForest then you don’t really deserve the business.

Nice template by the way, but when people incur coding problems they generally return to where they purchased the template from, why try to make them jump through hoops to get support for your own gain?
