I love this theme, it’s really fantastic. But I have a doubt. how can I do for the single product (WooThemes) stay in full width. good laptops

TrueThemes

Hi my friend,

The WooCommerce pages currently use the right-sidebar page templates by default.

You can definitely modify some of the theme files in order to use a full-width page template however this will require some coding changes and PHP /Wordpress knowledge.

A great site for getting very high quality and inexpensive Wordpress coding services is: http://www.wpquestions.com

Question about this product. I would like to recommend this product for a nonprofit charter school. However, they need the ability to have “teacher pages” (not quite teacher websites) and I was looking for a page template that would allow them to incorporate such an idea. Is it possible to “import” a page template into the theme? Not that I found anything or know where to start to look.. but I would like to offer that solution. Thx

TrueThemes

Hi my friend,

There is no way of “importing” a page template into a WordPress theme. You can however copy/paste an existing page template, rename it, and essentially create a whole new page template. (copying the actual PHP file)

It sounds like the Teacher Pages could be created by simply creating a new page within their Wordpress Theme just like any other page within the site?

I hope this information if helpful my friend.

Cheers :)

Hello,

Thank-you for responding to my previous question. I’m actually enjoying building a website for once because this theme is so well thought through.

The only downside I am finding is the Menu. It’s a bit glitchy because if you have two sub menu items next to each other and roll the mouse across, they end up appearing each other. I think because the animation is too slow. Is there any way to remove the animation or speed it up when the menu rolls back up? I imagine there is some CSS i can change?

Thanks in advance

TrueThemes

Thanks so much for the kind words my friend. We’re so glad you’re enjoying the easy usability of the theme.

We can definitely point you in the direction of the JavaScript to modify which controls the main menu.

Is it possible to add a sidebar to the blog/posts page? It doesn’t allow it by default. Thanks.

TrueThemes

Yes absolutely my friend.

The Blog page comes with a built-in Sidebar. This is located under ‘Appearance > Widgets’ and the Sidebar is named ‘Blog Sidebar’. Simply drag-and-drop your Widgets and you’re all good to go.

Greetings!

On the surface your theme looks like it may be a great fit for a non-programmer like myself. Q: I’ really like the “Slider Revolution Responsive WordPress Plugin” and was wondering how complicated is it to swap out the one that comes with your theme?

Thanks!

TrueThemes

Hey my friend,

Yes the Sterling theme is very non-developer friendly.

We’ve never worked with the Slider Revolution Plugin so we’re not certain about the exact steps needed to integrate it into a theme.

Please kindly reach out to the Slider Revolution author to find out how their plugin is integrated with a wordpress theme.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help.

Hi this is a pre-purchase question. Does this theme have a homepage builder and if not, how is the homepage built (via shortcodes in a page for instance?) Thanks.

TrueThemes

Hey my friend,

Thanks so much for your Sterling interest.

The homepages are built via shortcodes. You can have any custom layout you’d like. Sterling also comes with a complete set of XML Demo content so you’ll have a great starting point for all the various homepage layouts.

Hope this is helpful.

Hello,

Great theme – Can I automate the homepage slider to change automatically?

Currently, I don’t think it does.

Kind Regards Paul

TrueThemes

Hey Paul,

Yes indeed. The controls for the slider are located within the Site Options Panel under ‘Appearance > Site Options > JavaScript Slider’.

I really like this theme! It appears to have all the functionality I need as well as a very professional look!

I have a pre-sales question:

You mention that the theme has a top toolbar that can be turned on or off. Your theme demo shows that the top toolbar has a menu and some social media icons. Is this top toolbar a sidebar that can have any kind of widget(s)? Or is it only available with a menu and social media icons? Is the top toolbar able to be customized at all with different content?

Thanks for clarifying this for me.

TrueThemes

Hey my friend,

Thanks so much for your kind words and interest in Sterling.

The top toolbar contains 2 ‘sidebar regions’ (left and right). These regions can contain any widgets that you’d like. The demo site happens to have the ‘Custom Menu’ widget and the ‘Social Media’ widget.

I hope this is helpful for you.

I’d like to use some of the new shortcode features, but after updating to the latest version I don’t see those shortcodes listed in the editor. Specifically I’d like to use the Content Box.

TrueThemes

Hi my friend,

You will likely just need to reset your browser’s cache in order to see the new shortcode items.

Here’s a website article outlining how to clear your browser cache just in case you need it: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cache

I’m very disappointed in the support response I received from TrueThemes. After updating the Sterling theme, and following the update instructions completely, I was unable to use new features in the updated theme. I created an account on their support forum, filled out all the fields in the form (including theme version details) and attached an image as an example of the issue.

TrueThemes email response was: “Making as simple statement in a support ticket is no help to us to help you! We cannot help you with back-end issues if you do not provide us Admin Access to your Dashboard. So if you need us to take a look, provide us WordPress Admin Login details as well as FTP Login for your server.”

As a Wordpress professional, working with client data, I’m not comfortable giving a 3rd party access to my Wordpress installations and FTP server. While the theme itself wasn’t bad (perhaps 4 out of 5 stars as it’s missing many of the features of some of the top-tier themes), support that requires me to give access to my installations without attempting to suggest alternatives is not useful support for me.

TrueThemes

Hi my friend,

Very sorry to hear you’re dissapointed with our support services.

Sometimes certain issues require us to log into your website in order to determine the issue. We simply are unable to determine certain issues unless we can see them first hand. (it’s similar to calling a car mechanic and trying to explain the issue over the phone. Most times he will need to get under the hood to pinpoint what the actual issue is.)

Our HelpDesk is run on a fully encrypted SSL secure server. You can be sure that creating a temporary login account for us is completely secure, and you can delete the account as soon as we’re completed assisting you.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Question, 1) Does the homepage slider change/loop automatically? It doesn’t do that in the demo.

2) Are there more social media buttons available on the top right corner? Other than Facebook and Twitter..

Thanks.

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Thanks so much for your Sterling interest. In response to your questions:

1) Yes the homepage slider has a built-in options panel that enables you to easily ‘auto-play’ the slideshow.

2) Yes the included social media widget comes with: rss, twitter, facebook, email, flickr, youtube, linkedin, foursquare, delicious, digg, google+

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help.

I know Sterling doesn’t come with built in pricing table. In that case, are we able to use the WP plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/pricing-table/installation/ in Sterling?

TrueThemes

Yes absolutely. You can indeed use this plugin with the Sterling theme.

Hello, purchased this theme and have the site all but done. I’m having one particular problem though I’m unsure how to resolve. I’ve placed the latest tweets widget in the footer, and they are not showing up. Doesn’t matter what account I link to either. If you click the follow us on twitter button it goes straight to the account so it is making a connection, but the latest tweets won’t show up. Help appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

I’m looking to purchase this theme for a site, and I also need to produce an accompanying brochure. I would be looking to use the graphic in the footer/slider background. Is this graphic available at high res (300 dpi) or a vector in the PSD supplied. Or maybe on Envato marketplace?

Regards Ashley

TrueThemes

Hey Ashley,

Thanks so much for your interest in Sterling!

Yes the graphic you’ve inquired about actually originally comes from the GraphicRiver Marketplace. You can find this item here:

Hi!

Do you know of an appointment plugin that would be compatible with this great theme?

Thanks, Laura

TrueThemes

Hey Laura,

Unfortunately we’ve not worked with an appointment plugin in a while so we’re unable to provide a nice recommendation.

CodeCanyon has some really great plugins so perhaps that will be a good place to start your search?

Here’s a link to the search results for popular Wordpress appointment/calendar plugins:

I hope this is helpful for you.

Where is the FORM builder? I’ve looked in your “documentation” folder, in your “Knowledge base” webpage and in your “Training videos” and there is no way that I can find where I can create forms for my website!!

Thanks

TrueThemes

Hi my friend,

The form builder is located right next to Wordpress’ default ‘Media Upload’ button on all page/post editing screens.

Please see screenshot below: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7008416/_screenshots/form-builder.png

We’re continuing to build our Training Video database but you can also view a video of using the form builder under the Karma Wordpress Training Videos: https://support.truethemes.net/training-videos

I hope this is helpful my friend.

Hi this looks like such a great site!

Is it possible to have the home page slider set to auto-rotate?

Thanks that will help alot

TrueThemes

Yes absolutely. This is a built-in feature of the slider. You can very easily set the slider to auto-rotate from within Sterling’s custom Site Options Panel.
