Contact Page shows up blank even when “contact” is chosen as the template for the page.
The contact form will need to be inserted using Sterling’s built-in form builder.
Here’s a video outlining how to create a form in only a few minutes using the form builder:
(please note that the video above pertains to our Karma Wordpress Theme however the form builder is same for Sterling)

Hi there, great theme. I’m looking for the location of the social media widget file. I’d like to add in/swap over a link to instagram? Can you point me to where I may find this?
Thanks so much for your kind words my friend.
The file for social media widget is located within the Sterling theme here: /Sterling/framework/global/widgets.php

Thanks so much, have you any documentation on setting up the SEO module? Google’s returning individual results for all pages. Again great theme, client is very happy!

First of all, congratulations for this theme. I think it’s the best theme I’ve ever used!
I used the map widget in the contact page and the buble is showing a strange shadow down it’s bottom left corner and also a few strange images at the bottom of the bubble.
Is this a theme issue? Can I do something to fix it?

I already have one of your theme and want to get this, where the logo and the menu are is it possible to change the white to another color (red) and the menu color to deterrent color for selected houver ? And also the revolution Slider here from codecayon?
Thanks so much for your interest in Sterling.
The navigation bar and drop-down color can indeed be modified to suit your needs. These items will require a few lines of Custom CSS to be added to Sterling’s Options Panel. (very simple addition) Should you need direction in adding this code we are very happy to assist.
As per Slider Revolution Plugin we have not yet used this plugin with Sterling theme so we are unable to provide feedback. We can however note that Sterling has an option for adding a slider to any page. If Slider Revolution comes with shortcode option you can use this shortcode to easily display your custom slider on any page.
Perhaps you can obtain more information by contacting the plugin developer to see if there are any special theme requirements?
We hope this is helpful my friend.
Please let us know if there’s anything else at all we can do to help.
Would it be possible to add a featured image into the blog short code?
Our development team has created a Plugin to extend this functionality within the Sterling theme.
Thanks so much my friend
I absolutely love your theme. It’s got almost anything I want in a page without having to install a ton of plugins for all the functions separately! Great job!
On my wishlist, to make this even more awesome would be:
- Pricing tables
- Portfolio or galleries by posts (i guess you could just do that with a category grid)
- more column shortcodes (3/4 etc) or the “visual composer” included somehow
But that is just wishing for the ultimate theme. I think it’s outstanding already.
I had a question about the gallery:
I have a huge portfolio and right now the ALL tab loads a ton of items and it takes a long time. When it is loading, if I click on an item with a iframe, it loads the page I linked to without the iframe, leading away from my page. To avoid that, is there a way to reduce the number of items loaded in the ALL tab and maybe make a link to next page for all additional items? Lind of like a regular blog pagination?
Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback. We greatly value your opinion and Sterling will definitely continue to get awesome features as the theme evolves.
As per the Gallery question, there is a built-in setting that enables you to specify how many items to display. It will then add pagination links to the additional items.
This setting is located in the Site Options Panel under ‘Appearance > Site Options > Interface Options’. Scroll to the bottom and you will see a “Gallery Settings” option. Simply input the number of items you’d like to display and you’ll be all good to go.

This is a great theme. However, I just upgraded the WooCommerce plugin to the latest 2.0 theme, and now I am getting the message “Your theme does not declare WooCommerce support – if you encounter layout issues please read our integration guide or choose a WooCommerce theme :)”
Do you have any idea when you will release an update to your template that will fix this integration issue?
Thank you so much for your feedback my friend.
WooCommerce has just released version 2.0 yesterday and this was a fairly significant update to their plugin.
You can learn full details about the changes they made on the WooCommerce website: http://www.woothemes.com/2013/03/hello-woocommerce-2-0/
We will be working hard on getting our theme’s updated very soon to be fully WooCommerce 2.0 compatible. (we don’t yet have an ETA on the updates but they are our first priority and will likely be available within 48 hours)
In the meantime we recommend to continue using a previous version of the WooCommerce Plugin. You can download the previous version (1.6.6) from the Wordpress Plugin repository: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/woocommerce/developers/
If there’s anything else we can do to assist please just let us know.
We’ve worked out any of the incompatibilities with WooCommerce 2.0
It seems the new plugin version changed some of the HTML structure so we simply adjusted some of the CSS declarations to play nicely with WooCommerce 2.0
We’re very happy to provide these changes if you need them right away. You can implement the changes by replacing a single CSS file within the theme.
I want to create slides like this website have http://shopforfollowers.com/ at the top, but i am not able to create such slides. How can i create them, as these slides have no images and are purely made from text only.
When creating a slide within Sterling you can simply leave the ‘featured image’ and ‘featured video’ blank. You will then be left with a ‘blank canvas’ to work with. Any text, shortcodes, images etc that you input into Wordpress’ default Content Editor will be displayed. (it appears the example you’ve listed has added pricing tables with either HTML code or pricing table shortcode)
For people who are interested in Sterling theme.
I say buy it and me as a customer I am very satisfied to have the support of TrueThemes.
It takes some time after 14 hours of waiting but result is certainly being. My website load much faster now.!
TrueThemes team, thank you very much for the great help.
Thanks so much for the kind words my friend. It’s truly a pleasure working with you. You rock!
Hi great theme! I uses both the WPML for multilingual and WooCommerce.
But WooCommerce doesn’t seem to function as well as it should. Both buttons and the widgets are a bit “off”. Check it out: http://www.visasupport.no/butikk/ & http://www.visasupport.no/produkt/ny-test/
Where did it go wrong?
The site also run a bit slow, so if you have an immediate idea how to fix it, please tell me
We’re very happy to assist you my friend.
Hi! I’m really looking forward to purchasing this theme and have watched a few of your very helpful tutorial videos, but I just wanted to check one thing before making the payment. Is there a way in your gallery layout to have a blog post rather than a media item showing up in a lightbox?
Thank you very much for your interest in Sterling.
Displaying a blog post within a lightbox can be done in sort of a “back door” fashion.
The lightbox accepts iFrames which enables you to display any webpage within the lightbox. You can use this built-in feature to point to your blog post within the lightbox.
Please give us a shout if there’s anything else at all we can do to help.
Thanks for your reply, it helps!
That’s right, the last update was not good. You must update the older packs 1.6.6 see previous post of True Themes.
There will be a new update of Sterling if committed ready.
I have the same problem.
Thanks so much my friend!
I have used the Gallery feature as a team page, each gallery item has a featured image and a page link to a custom page for each member, this works perfectly, but there is another page created for each gallery item: /gallery/’item-name’ – this page is blank, with just the title of the item and creation date – for some reason, when I search their name, I find this page has been ranked higher in Google than the actual team members page which has more instances of their name. I cannot appear to edit or remove this page? I tried creating a new page with the same URL, but the gallery page overrides it. What can i do?
We’re very happy to assist you with this. We’ll just need to take a closer look behind the scenes and help you to resolve.
Please kindly submit a ticket on our secure HelpDesk so that our dedicated support team can gladly assist you.
Thanks so much for your interest in the Sterling theme.

Sterling theme nav-menus.php not working. No menus appeared in the page.
We’re very happy to assist you.
Menus are working nicely on our end so we’ll just need to take a closer look behind the scenes and help you to resolve.
Hi, concerning the woocommerce 2.0.1 changes, I am also following, have a Sterling site ready to go live but need the Sterling updates. My question do you advise to just wait for your update? I tried going to help desk and they have referred me back to author. If I wanted to get the updated css files, how do I do that?
Looking forward to the fix, other than that happy with the theme… ~;)
To go live and guarantee 100% compatibility we recommend to continue using the previous version of WooCommerce (v1.6.6). This version can be downloaded here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/woocommerce/developers/
We’re still running through the theme and testing things out to ensure everything is rock-solid with WooCommerce 2.0.1. It’s safe to say that we’ve got about 90% of any bugs worked out at this time.
We’re continuing the testing and debugging and we will have new files of Sterling submitted to ThemeForest within 24 hours.
If you’d like the CSS fixes we already have for WooCommerce 2.0.1 please kindly submit a support ticket and our support team will gladly provide instructions and code for adding the code.
How to update LayerSlider to the latest version 4.0.1?
We’ve just updated LayerSlider to version 4.0.1
Due to licensing restrictions we’re unable to post the link publicly however please kindly submit a ticket on our HelpDesk and we’ll gladly send over the link right away.
You’re website’s looking awesome my friend – very well done.
1. We’ll need to take a closer look behind the scenes to help resolve the spacing. Please kindly submit a ticket on our HelpDesk so that our developers can investigate and provide a fix.
2. Are you referring to ‘latest blog posts’ and ‘testimonials’ from the ‘homepage lightbox hero’ demo page? If so this content is included within XML Demo Content however you can quickly grab this code from below. Simply copy/paste into your homepage content and you’ll be all good to go:
[blog_posts title="Latest from the blog" count="2" character_count="120" post_category=""]
[home_marketing_testimonials title="Our Clients Say it Best"]
[testimonial client="ThemeForest Customer 1"]I can not tell how helpful, respectful and proactive this team is. I am a complete novice and was met with a level of service and support I have never encountered to date...[/testimonial]
[testimonial client="ThemeForest Customer 2"]I have downloaded 8 themes from themeforest. This has been the easiest to customize out of them all. I’ve never turned a website around so fast![/testimonial]
[testimonial client="ThemeForest Customer 3"]Thanks so much for fixing my issue so quickly, I would just like to say that your company has provided such amazing customer service/ support to date it has really blown me away (it is very rare in business today)[/testimonial]
Ok will submit ticket for gallery. I got the quotes and one image added to home page. But how did you stack three images and text horizontally on your example home page? I didn’t download the sample site first before building my site.
Just a quick presale question regarding images in the subheader area (where the sliders appear) – in some pages, I just want to put a static image in there rather than a slider. Can this be done? Via the featured image function, if I’m inferring correctly from a comment above?
Cheers – it’s a very elegant theme! Kurt.
Thanks so much for your kind words and interest in Sterling my friend.
Currently the main banner area can only take on a slider but not static image. An easy way around this is to insert a slider which only contains a single full-size image. It will appear to the end user as only a single image.
If there’s anything else we can do to assist please just give us a shout.
Thanks mate, good enough. Cheers.
Good Morning True Themes,
- I created a domain “test.e-otg.it” but by default opens the blog page, which in my menu was not created. How do I set the default “home”?
- Another thing, I created a “News” page that would be my “blog”. In the “News” page I put in the “Page Attributes, Template: BLOG”, but I don’t display the contents as the default page “blog” created automatically, the “post” were created ..
waiting for answers
thank you very much Fabio
Both items can be solved by setting up the “static front page” and “blog page” from within the default Wordpress Settings.
- Log into Dashboard and click on ‘Settings > Reading’.
- From the radio buttons choose “A static page (select below)”
- Select your already created homepage as “Front Page”
- Select your already created News section as “Blog”
- Save changes and you’re all good to go.
If you require any further assistance please kindly submit a ticket on our secure HelpDesk so that our dedicated support team can gladly assist you.
it was so easy
Thanks very much and also very fast in responding! good!
