Hi, we’re very happy to help.

Please ensure that the most recent version of Sterling Theme (version 2.2) is installed.

Updates to Wordpress 3.9 require most recent Sterling version.

Thank you :)

Hi, Today I went to my site and the tabs are broken. I believe one of our employees upgraded WP to 3.9

Any way for me to easily fix our tabbed content?

TrueThemes

Hi,

We’re glad to help.

This sounds like it is likely caused by caching issue or outdated theme version.

Kindly ensure to update theme to latest verison, clear web browser cache, and refresh the page.

This can also be caused by ‘caching minify plugin’ on the website. Kindly follow this article for more details: https://support.truethemes.net/?faq=website-lost-all-styling-after-install-or-upgarde-dropdown-menus-image-frames-or-testimonial-slider-not-working

I just updated to wordpress 3.9, and the custom dropdown menus in tinyMCE don’t show up now. it looks like theres a change in the new version of tinyMCE of how plugins are brought in, but i can’t figure out how to do it. can you explain? thanks :)

TrueThemes

Yes sure thing.

Kindly check out this HelpDesk article for the likely solution: https://support.truethemes.net/?faq=error-after-upgrade-to-wordpress-3-9

The boxed layout is broken when not using responsive. Also the widget area is limited to 190-200px wide, most theme widget areas give at least 250px width.

If you use the boxed layout with non-responsive, and use a widget wider than 190-200px, the theme looks horrible on mobile.

Can we get this addressed in the next update please? This is a big problem.

TrueThemes

Yes sure thing my friend.

We’re working on this issue now and we’ll respond to your support ticket as soon as we’ve got the solution.

Hi Sterling team, I have your theme in my Blog: http://net-dinheiro.com

I want change my h1, h2, h3, h4 to bold, but i can`t.

I try change at style.css but nothing works. Can you help me to solve this?

Thanks, AdrianoRamos

TrueThemes

Hi Adriano,

This can be achieved with a small bit of CSS code.

Simply copy/paste the code below into the ‘Custom CSS’ section of Sterling’s Site Options Panel and all will be well.

‘Custom CSS’ is located under: Appearance > Site Options > Styling and CSS > Custom CSS

h1, h2, h3, h4 {
font-weight: bold !important;
}

Thank you :)

Nice!! This Works. You can give other answer? If I want put all that (h1,h2,h3,h4) with 20px of font size, which is the complete code? with the bold too… ?

And if I want change the font size of my “normal text” to 15px, what is the code?

TrueThemes

Hi Adriano,

Here is the updated code as per your requests:

h1, h2, h3, h4 {
font-weight: bold !important;
font-size: 20px !important;
}

p {
font-size: 15px;
}

Thank you :)

Hi again, Let’s forget the size of the text, because it works perfectly. However, the phrase h1, h2, h3, h4, are not changed. You can see on this site: http://net-dinheiro.com

the h3, is not bold and not have 20px. What can I do?

TrueThemes

Hi,

When looking at the source of the website we see that the wrong CSS code is entered.

Simply be sure to remove the “pre” tags from the CSS.

The code entered into Custom CSS section should start with “h1” and end with “}”

If you require any assistance with this we are very happy to help. Please submit a Ticket on our HelpDesk so that we may log into the website and add your custom code. Please include temporary login details when submitting the Ticket.

Before I buy the amazing template I would like to know if it is possible to keep the menu static and not moving while I navigate through the website. The menu is constantly coming together with me while I am scrolling down.

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Yes the menu is easily adjusted with a checkbox in the built-in admin panel.

Currently it is set to “fixed” which will stay at the top of the site while scrolling down. A simple checkbox allows to “un-fix” the menu which will leave the menu at the top and not follow as you scroll down the site.

Thank you :)

I just downloaded the most recent version of Sterling and I am getting some 403 when installing Layer Slider. Why is that? It was working fine on my localhost. Please advise.

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Sometimes certain web servers have disabled the ability to install files (the plugin files) from an outside server (the plugin gets installed from our Secure Amazon server)

We’re very happy to manually install this plugin for you.

Please submit a Ticket on our HelpDesk including details of the error along with temporary login details to the website and we’ll get you all squared away.

Is there a way to disable the slider on mobile devices (or at least on 480px and below)? i cant seem to find the right code to make it work.

TrueThemes

Hi There,

A ‘slider disable’ feature is not a built-in feature however a bit of CSS can offer an alternative such as only displaying a ‘static banner image’ on mobile device.

Please submit a Ticket on our HelpDesk so that we can gladly provide additional guidance on this.

Thank you :)

Hi there,

I’ve upgraded to Sterling 2.2 and Wordpress 3.9 as well as disabled WP-Edit and all other visual/WYSIWYG editors and cleared my server/site/browser cache, and I’m still not seeing the ’+’ in my editor to drop in shortcodes.

In addition to support regarding the button, do you also have a cheat sheet listing all over your shortcodes and parameters?

Default-user

Sorry about that, I disabled ‘Visual Shortcodes’ thinking it was a 3rd party plugin, not realizing I needed it active to get your shortcodes working.

Hello. I am trying to see you demo site using IE8 but it is all broken. It works fine in Chrome.

Is this only in my computer, or would it be for all computers using IE8??

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Sterling renders nicely in IE8. Perhaps it is related to “compatibility view” being turned on?

Hi, is this theme fully compatible with GeoDirectory? http://wordpress.org/plugins/geodirectory/

For me fully compatible means that the theme style overrides the original plugin styles and integrates it… If not, would you consider integrating it?

Thanks,

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Thank you very much for your interest in the Sterling theme.

Sterling will very likely work nicely with that plugin however the theme has not been built specifically for that plugin and no style overrides.

We will play around with the plugin a bit more and consider adding styling for it in future release.

Thank you :)

Hi, I’m using the shortcode “blog_posts” to display posts from a specific category. Is there a way I can have pagination in this shortcode, so only let’s say 15 post appear and then I could have a next and previous button with page numbers. Or is there another way to display the posts from a specific category in a page with pagination? Please let me know and thanks so much.

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Apologies my friend but pagination is not currently available option within the blog_post shortcode.

I wanted three columns like 1/4 -2/4/ -1/4 1/3- 3/5 -1/5 1/6 -4/6 -1/6 How Can I achieve this? This I need badly.

TrueThemes

Hi There,

These custom column combinations are not currently built into the theme.

They can be achieved a number of different ways, all depending on your desired outcome. For example, HTML div’s can be used and then the CSS can be defined for those div’s within the theme.

We’re currently unavailable for custom coding work however if you’re in need of professional coding assistance we’ve got 2 highly trusted partners for all of your Wordpress customization needs. WPQuestions.com and Codeable.io

I am interested in purchasing this theme and have a couple of questions. 1. I want to put a sizable phone number in the header or top header and email. Can the theme accomodate this and respond correctly to all devices. 2. I want a contact form down the right side of every page. Will the theme support this? Thank you!

TrueThemes

Hey There,

Thanks so much for your interest in the Sterling theme.

As per your questions:

1. Yes. The “top-left” and “top-right” areas about the menu/logo are widgetized regions and can accept text widget or any of the other 10 or so wordpress widgets.

2. Yes. However for a contact form to be on right side of the page you will need to use the “Right Sidebar” page template for each page on your site. Another great option will be to put the contact form in the footer of the website. This is very easy to do.

Thank you :)
