Just another thing please. At homepage, after first post at “recent post area” all gets to italics (second post and all text at footer), how could I fix this? Thank you so much!!!

SkatDesign

Hi there,

Add the meta line in your header.php and let me know so I can check it out.

As for the italics I’ve checked your website and it seems there are some empty <em> tags there. Check your page in “Html” mode and make sure that WP is not automatically adding those to your page.

To display 3 recent posts simply insert the shortcode like this:

[recent_posts limit=”3”]

Cheers!

OH Thanks. 1. I have fixed the empty tags. Now that is fixed. 2. Ok the 3 post at latest post at homepage, but I need also to display a longer excerp, how could I do that?? 3. Mobile devices responsive version not working. I had paste the meta as you suggested but I have a white line now before the slider (at Chrome) and no responsive layout at mobile yet. I am sure I am pasting the code wrong, so I attach that part of the header.php so you can review it. Thank you very much and your amezing quick and good attention!

HERE IS MY CODE AT HEADER .PHP

<title> <?php if (is_front_page()) { echo get_bloginfo(‘name’); } elseif ( is_single() ) { the_title(); } elseif (is_page()) { the_title(); echo ’ | ’; echo get_bloginfo(‘name’); } elseif (is_category()) { single_cat_title(); echo ’ | ’; echo get_bloginfo(‘name’); } elseif (is_month()) { echo ‘Archive for ’; echo the_time(‘F, Y’); } elseif (is_tag()) { echo ‘Items tagged ’; echo single_tag_title(); } else { } ?> <meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=0;” /> </title> <style type=”text/css”> .js { display: none;

SkatDesign

Hi there,

The meta code must be inserted after the ending title tag not before (inside) it.

Your code looks like this:

<meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=0;” /> </title>

it should look like this:

</title>
<meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=0;” />

Change it and let me know how’s going.

Cheers!

Default-user

Ok thank you, now i it looks like this: ... ?> </title> <meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=0;” /> <style type=”text/css”> ... but I get white line before slider and no responsive version at mobile, no changes. Thanks for your help, any other indication to fix this? also to make bigger post excerps at homepage? Thank you!

SkatDesign

This is weird.

Could you send me a test username and pwd. throught the contact form on my profile page so I can take a closer look and eventually fix the problem?

Cheers!

Default-user

Yes, Now it is fine and displays the mobile responsive version. Last thing I need is to have a londer excerps at homepage latest post area. Thank you.

Default-user

Oh! That’s also done! Thank you so much. You are incredible. It has been a pleasure working with you and this template. Today I give the project to client who is very very happy with the design.Thank you.

I have been working on getting the theme installed and it looks beautiful. Only, it is not responsive to the iPhone or iPad. It does respond as expected when resizing the browser window, but on the tablet or phone, it just shows the full-size site. I followed the advise below that was given a different user with the same issue, but it did not help.

The site I am setting up is at www.andsager-consulting.com. Could you please take a look and let me know what the problem is?

This is what I tried to do already: Go to the theme’s folder and edit the file named “header.php”. Paste this just after line 38 (this </title>):

<meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=0;” />

Hi there,

I’ve checked you website and it seems the meta line you’ve pasted has bad quotes. When you’ve copied the text the quotes were copied with another format.

Add the code and replace the quotes manually from your keyboard.

Let me know how’s going.

I have been playing around with the responsive design for a bit and there seems to an issue with it. On the iPhone, once you view the page in horizontal mode and then turn it for vertical mode, the design takes up only about 2/3 of the screen and the rest on the right is grey. The issue persists even after reloading the page. There is now no way to zoom in to see the full page.

The issue seems to be related to the main nav. You can see it loads the full nav at first before it switches to the drop down. This nav is wider than the page design and determines the width of the page.

Are you aware of this issue and is there a known fix for it? Perhaps the only solution is to use a limited number of items in the nav, but that would be quit limiting.

SkatDesign

Hi there,

Thank you for noticing. I was not aware of this. Just made an update to the theme and waiting for it to be approved. Meanwhile you can send me a message through my profile page and I can send you the fix.

Could you send me the font used in the slider?

Hi there,

The font is named “Pacifico” and you can get it for free from the Google webfont directory.

Could that big slogan above the slider be turned off and does the slide support videos – youtube etc?

Thanks. Cool theme. :)

SkatDesign

Hi there and thank you for your interest.

The slider doesn’t support videos and yes you can turn off the slogan area for each page (you can choose on each page if you want or not to display it).

Cheers!

Tried on my mobile (windows) today and I found the header menu stays as ‘blocks’ instead of turning into a ‘drop-down’ menu. Would it be possible to get a drop-down menu when on mobile?

Thanks.

SkatDesign

The menu is changing to a drop-down, but it seems IE currently doesn’t handle this very well.

I’ll look into it and try to come up with a solution that will fix this up on IE browser.

Cheers!

Default-user

So, should I go ahead and buy the theme with the trust that you will be fixing the menu issue in ie for me? :)

Love your support and patience!

SkatDesign

Hi,

Sure, I can fix it for you, no worries.

How do I get the top intro text to show up? When I enter text into the intro field within the theme options, it only gives me the text below the main slider.

SkatDesign

Hi there,

When you edit a page, just below the editor, you’ll see a box with an option called “Page Slogan”.

Cheers!

Default-user

Thank you. One additional thing… is it possible to remove the top nav element entirely?

SkatDesign

You want to remove the whole menu?

Cheers!

Default-user

Yes. I just want the site to be a single page “teaser” for now.

SkatDesign

Here’s what you need to do:

Go to the theme’s folder and edit the file named “header.php”. From line 121 to 138 remove this code:

<!--menu -->
  <div class="main_menu">
  <!-- header menu-->
  <?php
// Using wp_nav_menu() to display menu
wp_nav_menu( array(
    'menu' => 'Header', // Select the menu to show by Name
    'class' => 'sf-menu',
    'menu_class' =>'sf-menu',
    'menu_id' => 'nav',
    'container' => false, // Remove the navigation container div
    'theme_location' => 'Header',
    'walker' => new description_walker()
    )
);
?>
</div>
  <!--header menu end-->

Save. Done.

You can add the code later in the same spot if you want to add the menu again.

Cheers!

Thanks for all the help. One additional thing… when I enter html link codes into certain sections, it’s adding addional stuff to it. For example,
<a href="http://www.lakin.gs">
</a>
ends up outputting this as the link… http://fnwgn.com/%22http://www.lakin.gs/%22
SkatDesign

I’ve checked your website and it seems that your server has the “magic quotes” php feature on. It is recommended to turn it off, but if you don’t know/want to do it here’s what you need to do:

go to the theme’s folder and edit the file named “header.php”. On line 208 you’ll change this:

<?php echo do_shortcode($data['intro_content']); ?>

to this:

<?php echo stripslashes( do_shortcode($data['intro_content']) ); ?>

Save. Done.

Cheers!

Default-user

that did it. thank you. still having the issue in the footer area for the link with the copyright. assume that’s in the footer.php… just not sure what to change.

actually, I think I got it.

I’ve put the code for an ‘action button’ in the homepage options under Stonex options, but it won’t recognize the link… It just keeps reverting to the site address

[actionbutton type="action" link="http://google.com"] Request a Quote! [/actionbutton]
After inspecting with Firebug the output is this:
<a class="call_to_action" rel="" href=""> <span> Request a Quote! </span> </a>
The ‘href’ part is blank???? Oh, and the little ‘action’ arrow icon is missing?
SkatDesign

Hi there,

Try to insert the link attribute without wrapping the url in quotes. On some people’s servers it’s not working with quotes.

So, insert the link attribute like this:

link=http://yoursite.com

Cheers!

I just realized my blog sidebar is missing on the main blog page. The page title & meta description are not coming up either. Any ideas on why that would be happening? Here’s my blog – http://www.indigomediaconsulting.com/blog

I have a static page set up for the blog and the SEO is done on that page using Platinum SEO pack plugin.

I have a sidebar specific for the blog and am using the blog sidebar for the page & post templates. The page template works (sorta, I’ll explain below) as far as it shows up, unlike the main blog page.

My sidebar doesn’t look the same as in the test site you have set up. Your’s looks very clean with a title & line (under the title) over the section like “Theme Features” & “Photo Stream” -http://www.freaklife.com/stonex/blog/. Using the categories widget and recent posts widget, there is a title but no line and it’s all squished together. Here’s an example – http://www.indigomediaconsulting.com/how-a-small-business-can-effectively-use-linkedin/

Any help would be great, thanks!

One more question…How do I get the related posts to work? I have the option turned on but it never shows anything. Do I need to get a plugin or something?

SkatDesign

Hi there,

The related items work based on tags. So you should tag your posts.

Very nice theme :) I read all 4 comment pages and was able to fix a few glitches (action button link etc.)... 2 things are not working right now

1) no arrow for the action button
2) slider bg not being loaded properly
3) how to get an image into the custom footer copyright
4) how can I deactivate responsiveness on all devices ? can I uncomment sourcecode to activate it later on ?

Please check it out ;)

SkatDesign

Hi there,

1. Try the same thing as the action button link. Insert the attribute value without the quotes.

Eg:

[actionbutton action=action]

2. I’ve checked your website, but everything seems fine to me.

3. You can upload your image and then insert the html code of the image in the copyright box. Eg:

<img src="http://yoursite.com/image.jpg" />

4. Yes sure, you can remove/comment the code and activate it later if you want.

Here’s what you need to remove/comment:

Go to the theme’s folder and edit the file named “header.php”. On line 39 remove this code:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=0;">

Now, edit the file named “functions.php”. On line 67 and 68 remove this:

wp_register_script('mobile-menu', get_template_directory_uri() . '/js/jquery.mobilemenu.js', false, '', true);
wp_enqueue_script('mobile-menu');

Then go to the “js” folder and edit the file named “custom.js”. From line 144 to 148 remove this:

//mobile menu
    $('#nav').mobileMenu({
        switchWidth: 767,
        prependTo: '#header'
        });

Now, go to the “admin” folder and edit the file named “theme-functions.php”. On line 33-34 remove this:

wp_register_style('responsive', get_template_directory_uri() . '/styles/responsive.css', 'style');
wp_enqueue_style( 'responsive');

Done.

I am trying to install the theme update, I follow the instructions and overwrite files as I have not started anything yet. But I have done it three times now and I still have a theme update alert saying I have version 1.1.

Please help!

Hi there,

Sorry for that. It seems that I forgot to update the theme version after update. Just edit the “styles.css” file found in the theme folder and change

Version: 1.0 to Version: 1.1 and the problem will go.

Hi,

For some reason the slider wrapper div is missing.

Here’s what you need to do:

Go to the theme’s folder > includes and edit the file named “featured-slider.php”. Just at the beginning add this:

<div class="slider_wrapper">

and at the end this:

</div>

Save. Done.

Let me know how’s going.

What’s the email address? Would it be OK if sent you the screen dump instead of URL because site is under construction and it has maintenance page active right now. I am under my client’s instructions to keep the maintenance page on because he has people going on his website all the time.

Thank you. It worked perrrrrrrrrrrfect.

When I put columns, say four columns. Is it possible to increase the width of them or span of all four evenly? I probably don’t know how to ask the question. :) To rephrase it, there is a lot of white space after the far right forth column. Am making any sense now? I am trying to align them horizontally with the banner!

Thanks.

SkatDesign

Hi,

How do you insert the last column? For example of a four columns layout the last column shortcode should be

[one_fourth_last]...content here... [/one_fourth_last]

The columns are already spanned evenly because they use a percentage for the width.

Cheers!

Worked it out. The content container’s width was set at 860px by default and to align it with rest of the content it needed to be on 940px. I have changed that in blue.css because that’s what I am using and wondering what would happen with rest of the color styles? Is it possible to make changes anywhere that applies to all the styles?

Thanks for the prompt support :)
