Nice!

Please tell me where I can see how items are REMOVED or EDIT from the CART …

Best wishes

indiqo

Thanks for your feedback!

If you’d like to see how the cart including both functions you mentioned looks like, you can either have a look at the preview screenshots or you can click at the “View Cart” link at the bottom of the dark Shopping Cart box on the live preview page.

There you should see a “Remove” link added to each item within the cart as well as an input field specifying the current amount. Furthermore, an “Update” button should be available a little further below, which should be used to refresh those amounts accordingly.

As you probably know, it’s currently just a HTML template and so even though each of those elements has been prepared, they don’t do something until the template will be integrated into some sort of e-commerce solution of course.

I hope I could help you and will remain available in case there’s anything else you’d like to know. Please feel free to send me an email or reply with a comment at any time — I’ll do my best to answer as soon as I can!

Nice theme. The slider doesn’t work in IOS Safari, I see all three sliders loaded below each other. Not sure if it’s just on my end. Good luck with the sales!

Thanks for your feedback!

I recently double checked that once again and it seems to work just fine. May I ask which iPhone or version of iOS has been used and if the site loaded completely?

I developed this template itself on a Mac using Safari (Webkit) and completed its mobile functionality on my old iPhone 3GS and the new iPhone 4s to make sure it works properly incl. high resolution retina image support.

It doesn’t scale to its intended size in preview mode as long as the ThemeForest frame on top stays there, but aside from that, I didn’t notice any problems recently.

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Actually, most e-commerce solutions rely on server side technology such as PHP for example. These solutions often make use of some kind of template engine or work with embedded PHP directly — in both cases, a HTML template like this one can be used and integrated accordingly.

I hope I could answer your question so far — Please feel free to send me an email or use the comments here if there’s anything else you’d like to know. I’m usually glad if I can help and after all, that’s what I’m here for of course. :-)

Hey, I tested on iOS 5 and when I click on dropdown select it automatically closes right after. Can you look into it please. Thanks.

indiqo

Thanks for purchasing the template and your feedback!

I recently tried that myself on an iPhone 4s and it seems to work properly. However, I’ll improve the menu system later today a bit so it doesn’t open up on hover by default anymore — instead, I’ll change that behavior so it just pops up if visitors touch it and it stays open as long as they don’t click a small (x) icon on top.

Hope that helps — I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done so you can try it yourself.

Max

indiqo

As per my last message, I just updated the menu system entirely and uploaded it to the live preview of this item. Would you mind trying it again with your device and let me know if it works better now?

I think the behavior with a small (x) button if it’s expanded works better than before and might be even more touch friendly.

I’ll be looking forward to your feedback and will submit the update for review purposes accordingly then.

Kindly, Max

Thanks Max. Works fine now. Also, because this is meant to be a real mobile store it will be great to have checkout form (checkbox, radio button…) as well and may be notifications (error, success).

indiqo

Great suggestions — thanks a lot for them!

I just wrote them down and might add these things to the existing and upcoming releases soon as well!

Meanwhile, the updated version including the new menu should be on its way and available soon now.

Hi Max,

The design looks impeccable and fresh! I downloaded it and found that the search bar doesn’t appear. I can see the code for it but its missing on the demo as well. Can you please look into it?

Thanks
Rajiv.

indiqo

Hi Rajiv,

Thanks for your feedback and for purchasing my template of course!

The Storefront Mobile template is based upon the Storefront Pro template released today and so it includes some of its CSS code as well.

The search bar you mentioned is available in the Storefront Pro version which is quite different in general and includes a web and tablet view in addition — however due to the limited screen size it didn’t make it into the mobile version in this case.

I won’t be in office this weekend anymore, but if you really need that search bar in the Storefront Mobile template, I’ll write it down to my agenda and will update the template on Monday accordingly, so this will be available as well. What do you think?

Have a good weekend then and thanks once again for your feedback! Max

Hi Max

Thank you for your prompt response. The search bar is quite critical to the app I’m building. Thanks for offering to put it in. Monday works in terms of a timeline.

Hope you have a great weekend too.

Rajiv

Hi Rajiv,

Sure, no problem — I just wrote that down and will work on it directly as soon as I’m back in my office on monday morning.

Max

indiqo

Hi Rajiv,

Just like I mentioned already, I recently completed the changes and added a search form to the top of the page accordingly.

You should see the changes on the live preview already and the review process shouldn’t take too long, so an update will be on its way.

I hope I could help you with that and wish you all the best for the app you’re building!

Max

Default-user

Thank you for your prompt response, Max. The interaction is indeed looking exquisite. I was able to add it to the app.

I have a question about the ‘Featured Products’ block. I see that a tag for the product name but the product name doesn’t get rendered. That particular block also seems a little bit on the crowded side compared to the nice clean feel of the rest of the design. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how we could make these two changes: 1. See the product names on the ‘Featured Products’ block and 2. Make the ‘Featured Products’ block a little more spaced out.

Best regards, Rajiv.

indiqo

Thanks — I’m glad I could help you out a bit!

Well, as you may know, the template is a part of the Storefront Pro template which by default adjusts to various screen sizes automatically and isn’t just a mobile template.

Some of the things you can see on the Storefront Pro template didn’t make it into the mobile template due to the limited amount of space available. However, even though I’m quite busy this week, I might have a look into this by the weekend if you like me to — maybe I can come up with an improvement for this part of the template.

Cool , btw im tested on my android , android version 2.3.3

im see its not fully align to 100% on landscape view. and see some javascript is not workin properly like we see at web browser demo.

Example: for image product hover at index page , in browser while we hover it will show the price and link to more detail , but in mobile , we know that no action for hover only click / tap .

indiqo

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

I recently tested this myself and the landscape mode itself seems to work properly for me. Please note that the contents won’t stretch to the left and right border but this is intended — everything else works properly though.

Regarding the hover state, you’re right — unlike regular pc screens, touch devices don’t have a cursor and so a hover state usually doesn’t work. Because of that, the drop down menu on top as well as the image hover states react on touch instead. Because of that, the price information as well as a link to the product page just show up if a user clicks / touches the product image.

That said, the things you mentioned aren’t necessarily problems in this case — I just made sure that the template is a touch friendly one if viewed on mobile devices such as your Android phone because touch controls and controls via mouse and keyboard are significantly different for obvious reasons.

I hope I could answer to your question so far and will remain available in case there’s anything else you’d like to know.

Hi

Interested in ordering this template.

Would like to see how this displays in a smartphone.

Do you have a QR Code or demo address?

Thanks

Ken

indiqo

Hi Ken,

Thanks a lot for your feedback — you can see the template on your smartphone if you follow the shortened link right below: http://shrivel.me/?xA

Please note that you should close the ThemeForest item preview frame on top so it scales properly, but aside from that, you should be able to get a good impression about how it looks and works.

What payment gateway is there and customer reg details as your preview doesn’t display that after checkout?

Thanks

Ken

indiqo

Hi Ken,

The template has been submitted to the so called “Site Templates” category which means that it is basically just a plain HTML template with various pages prepared. These HTML templates itself don’t perform any action and no e-commerce or checkout solution has been implemented so this needs to be done in order to make it work with the shopping cart solution of your choice first.

If you’re looking for a solution which works out of the box, I’d recommend having a look at the new Storefront Pro Theme for Shopify which is a completely integrated copy of the more advanced version of the Storefront Mobile HTML template which also works on tablet and desktop pcs in addition: http://themeforest.net/item/storefront-pro-for-shopify-premium-theme/1509962

I hope I could answer to your question so far and will remain available in case there’s anything else you’d like to know of course! :-)

Naive I’m sure but doidn’t realise I’d need a sop element…. will this work http://codecanyon.net/item/simple-php-shopping-cart/full_screen_preview/88625 and if so how?

thanks john

indiqo

Thanks a lot for your feedback and for purchasing one of my items — I honestly appreciate that.

I recently had a close look at the solution you mentioned and yes, it should be possible to integrate it into the template with a bit of coding work. However, I have to admit that I’ve never been working with this solution myself yet, but from what I could see it seems as if it can be achieved in a comparably easy way.

Alternatively, there’s another template available which is called Storefront Pro which is based upon the mobile version but also offers a complete shopping experience on desktop pcs and tablets alike. This template has been completely integrated into a hosted e-commerce solution called Shopify and an OpenCart version should be available soon too.

I hope I could help you so far and will remain available whenever you should have any further questions regarding this or any other of my items.

I’m not a techie so excuse the simple questions. Let me get htis clear, if I buy the storefront pro template $15 I still need the ecommerce element but if I buy the storefront pro bulit in to shopify I don’t?

Can I host this on my own server an can I use paypal? I ask this as I’m not sure what you mean by ‘hosted e-commerce solution’

thanks john

indiqo

Hi John!

No problem — please let me try to explain the difference right below if you don’t mind:

The template as you can see it right here is just a HTML / CSS site template with several page types prepared — it looks like a working e-commerce solution but in fact it is just the first step and doesn’t perform any action by default. Depending on experience, skill and personal preferences, customers can purchase it in order to manually integrate the e-commerce solution of their choice into this template or to be a bit more precise, to use the template with their e-commerce solution of choice. However, this kind of integration oftentimes requires a significant amount of time, work and knowledge so it’s most likely not easy.

As an alternative, the Shopify version of this template already includes the second step mentioned above because it has been prepared in a way that it works perfectly with Shopify. With “hosted e-commerce solution” I meant that you can’t download and install Shopify on your own server — instead, it’s more some kind of an application or service which will be hosted and maintained for you on their servers and you’d have to pay a certain fee per month in order to be able to use it.

It’s a different concept compared to the self-hosted approach which is a bit more popular, but from what I can say you’d definitely get something for the money you pay to them even though I can’t say wether it will be a suitable business model for your purposes or not. The advantage of a hosted e-commerce platform compared to a self-hosted one might be interesting especially for not so technical users because you wouldn’t have to take care of backups, system updates and security or downtimes anymore — you literally just sign up and got your shop up and running in minutes.

PayPal as well as various other payment processors are available of course and can be enabled easily as well.

I hope I could answer to your questions so far and will remain here in case you need my assistance again!

Thanks Max for that very comprehensive and simple explanation…. I really do appreciate it….... Up to now we’ve bought standalone shops that can be run from our server so would prefer this route but, what you talk about does sound very attractive so will look further in to both options…... though I think it may not be me doing the work :-)

just one more of my silly questions :-) If I use this template paypal or buy the shopify option will thes both work with all mobiles, iphones, androids etc etc?

thanks john

indiqo

Don’t worry, those questions aren’t silly at all and I’m usually glad if I can help! :-)

The Storefront series which consists of the Storefront Mobile HTML template, the Storefront Pro HTML template and the Storefront Pro Shopify theme is a very stable and well tested series of templates and so far I didn’t get any comments or emails that they don’t work properly on any of those devices. Considering that some of them are available for months already and that they’ve been sold a few hundred times together I guess it should be working just fine.

However, please keep in mind that there’s a difference between the Storefront Mobile and the Storefront Pro templates — the mobile only version is just available as a HTML template and you would have to integrate a payment processor manually while the Storefront Pro version comes with a desktop, a tablet and a smartphone theme and can be purchased as HTML template or as a completely functional Shopify theme which works just like that.

I hope I could answer to your questions so far and will be here if you should need any further help! :-)

Hello! Can this template be used physically as an App?

indiqo

Hello!

Well, it depends — as you probably know it is just an HTML template right now, but with a bit of coding and implementation work as well as the right tool such as PhoneGap for example (http://phonegap.com) it should be possible to bring it to smartphones as a native app as well.

I hope this is what you meant and will remain available in case there’s anything else you’d like to know.

I’ve recently download your template! I want to know which os commerce do you recommend to manage the html.

indiqo

Hi Alex,

Thank you very much for your feedback and for purchasing one of my items — it’s much appreciated!

I just had a look at your comment and wonder what you mean exactly with “which os commerce”? In general, I usually like to work with Shopify myself even though I know that it’s not for everyone — alternatively, OpenCart is a great solution as well.

There are many other e-commerce platforms and I’m sure many of them are quite good, but after working with a solid amount of them I can say that Shopify and OpenCart are those I like to work with myself due to various reasons.

I hope I could help you with my recommendation in some way and definitely remain available if there’s anything else you’d like to ask of course.

Have a nice weekend! :-)

Hello,

I’m familiar with OpenCart. How hard would it be to integrate it with it? Would you provide some directions on how to do it?

Thank you, Florencio

indiqo

Hello Florencio,

thank you very much for your message! It’s definitely possible to integrate it into OpenCart and I’m already working on a theme for it which should be available quite soon from now.

Nevertheless, I’m sure you’re familiar with the amount of different templates and page types which need to be customized and so I guess that I couldn’t assist much for obvious reasons because that could take a significant amount of time and work.

However, please feel free to send me a message whenever you need my help or just wait for the official OpenCart version — I’d do my best to help you out but can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to assist with any issue you might run into unfortunately.

Hi!

I need to know if you include a tutorial to add the shopping cart using Paypal. I need this, but no idea how to integrate m-commerce.

Thanks

indiqo

Hi,

thank you very much for your message!

Implementing a shopping cart solution — even if it’s just a basic PayPal cart — requires a quite significant amount of time and work most of the time and so creating a tutorial for that would most likely exceed what this template offers.

If you send me an email to hello@indiqo.eu I could surely refer you to a few external tutorials, but those are not specifically written for this template and so it might be difficult anyway.

In general, I’d rather recommend to make use of either the Storefront for Shopify or Storefront for WordPress theme which both include complete support for their content management and e-commerce solutions and work right away.

They rely on exactly the same codebase as the Storefront Mobile template and if you strip out a few lines of CSS , you can also make them mobile only just like this one.

I hope I could help you at least a bit and would highly recommend using any of the other themes if you don’t know how to implement a simple e-commerce solution yourself. Alternatively, you can always leave a comment or send me an email and I’ll see what I can do.
