Dear Kap

I bought this theme recently and have several questions to ask

1 How can i switch the theme language from en to chinese? I have read your manual but only found how to use Poedit, however cn_Zh po and mo file already exisit in languange folder, my question is how to switch?

2 Why the chinese can not be displayed in a static webpage? the chinese only flashed while the webpage is loading, but after that, no chinese text on the webpage? for example, i use quick edit to change the page title for instance Potofolio to any chinese text, it appears or display nothing when the webpage are loaded.

I am using bluehost.

Pls kindly help.

Hi amoschen86:

Thank you for purchase of Striking (? your id does not show purchase badge).

Please register on Striking support forum and we help you with use of chinese language.

To all users, please ask questions on usage and customization into a thread at our support forum, and we will attend. We do not answer detailed questions on Themeforest anymore as we want any solutions to be visible to all users and Striking support forum is place where everyone go, and the Striking support forum is searchable for answers. We only visit Themeforest once or twice a week (and post this same message again and again) whereas Striking support forum is daily support by Striking Team.

I created a portfolio item as a lightbox using the video shortcode [video type=”youtube” clip_id=”82iCCI_4Nl8” autohide=”0” controls=”true”] It’s not working.

I also tried to create a video popup using the video setting in portfolio with http://youtu.be/82iCCI_4Nl8 and it won’t work.

I need to get rid of the ithemes plugin I am using but want your lightbox effect to be similar.

The site is http://pacificroofsolutions.com

Please advise.

Hi Kap! I changed the image of the footer (footer_bg.jpg) but I don’t see the new image in the website. I delete the cache, but the trouble is the same. What I have to do to change the footer image? Thank you!

Hi, how do i change the paragraph text to cufon.

The following does not work

Cufon.replace(“p”, {fontFamily : “Vegur”});

or

Cufon.replace(”.content”, {fontFamily : “Vegur”});

I cannot get rid of a small gradient between the header slide show and the content area I have tried every method you have suggested but it is still there. please see http://www.europeincoming.co.uk/wp

Hi Marcoalvarez

Thank you for purchasing Striking. Please go to support forum and we assist you with questions. As both KaptinLin and I have noted in the prior comments, we don’t visit this site that often, whereas the support forum receives daily responses to questions.

I just went to your site, which you have done an excellent job upon btw, I like the use of the fixed background. It appears that the issue you had with the nivo slider background has been resolved. There are a number of threads on the striking support forum on changing or removing the slider shadow, to which I believe you were referencing above.

Should you have any further questions, we ask that you place them on the support forum.

Thank you for purchasing Striking. Please go to support forum and we will assist you with your questions. As both KaptinLin and I have noted in the prior comments, we don’t visit this site that often, whereas the support forum receives daily responses to questions, hence the delay in responding.

It is not possible to have multiple markers for the version of gmap used in Striking to the best of our knowledge. I did a quick search online and see a number of threads on this topic, which leads me to believe that perhaps some of the 3rd party gmap plugins have this capability.

To all users, please ask your questions on usage and customization by opening a thread at our Striking support forum (the button linking to the support site is found in the item details page about halfway down), and we will attend. And our support forum has answers to many of the question being asked here at Themeforest.

We do not answer detailed questions on Themeforest we only have so many resources available for free support, and so we concentrate them where we can do the most good – which is our support forum, where we have thousands of registered members, and posted questions and solutions. I want to have bigger fonts in the posts and the pages. (i don’t mean by selecting header1, 2 … How can this be achived? Is there a style.css that i can intervent? My question i why the style.css is empty. Thanks in advance.

BTW , you change the font sizes in the Striking/Fonts panel, and all of the css for the theme is found in CSS /screen.css. The style.css is simply for the Appearence/Installed Themes listing of Striking amongst your installed themes in your wordpress setup.

Hi there,

I love this theme and have used it for a couple different things—my site is very simple, but I’m having trouble with a couple of things.

1) I would like to make the header (above the gradient) black to match the footer, with white text. 2) I can’t get my custom logo image to align left in the header, and I’ve tried all the HTML I know. It is currently laid over my navigation buttons.

Here is the URL of my site, so you can see: www.bradenjoyce.com.

Thanks for your help! Braden

I sincerely hope you have already asked your questions at the forum as your questions are very straightforward, and you would have received answers days ago. You change the header color background in the Striking/Color panel, and on the forum we have many threads on the custom css necessary to move around the logo and navigation. I am, looking at your site and I see you matched the header and footer colors, and you have your site title aligned as far left as one can have it in the header area, so I am suspecting you have been to the forum.

BTW , i am looking at the code of your site, and i see you have loaded a 3rd party nivo slider plugin ->Striking has a full implementation of the nivo slider script and I would suggest the plugin is not necessary. Good use of pictures on your site – very clean and show outstanding.

I have several CSS -related questions.

First, it appears you are limiting tables to just 400 px. Am I correct? <pr> .theme-options-table textarea { width: 80%; *width:400px !important; } </pr>

I want to modify certain tables using CSS contained in a separate style sheet. How can I link the CSS file to just a few pages. I would prefer not to change the Striking style sheet (style.css).

Your theme is excellent and well received by all who visit.

Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill

I know you are a long time user, and I see you have skipped over to the forum to ask your question. So thank you for purchasing Striking and for being savvy enough to realize the forum is where it is at.

Hi, I bought and download Sriker Theme (20.5 Mb) and at install I see the following message: “Damaged Themes. The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.”

What is wrong?

Thanks.

kaptinlin

Hi manox

Thank you for purchasing Striking. For any other questions I ask that you please go to support forum and we will assist you with your questions. As both KaptinLin and I have noted in the prior comments, we don’t visit this site that often, whereas the support forum receives daily responses to questions, hence the delay in responding.

But in the interest of getting you up and running, I can advise that you most likely have tried to install the whole download from themeforest into your wordpress setup. This is not correct. You have to take the zip you downloaded from themeforest and unpack it on your desktop (or folder you stashed it in). Once unpacked, you will see another file “striking.zip” and it is only this that you upload.

If you have any other difficulties, post at the forum. Installation issues are routine amongst novice wordpress users, and we have documentation included in the themeforest download, plus threads on the forum, plus help from our team, to assist you. All much more timely then waiting a week for a response here.

To all users, please ask your questions on usage and customization by opening a thread at our Striking support forum (the button linking to the support site is found in the item details page about halfway down), and we will attend. Hi! How to include comments on the page?

kaptinlin

Hi Alimova

As you are already registered at the forum, I am puzzled by your asking the question here. In fact, the answer has been posted on the forum many times. One of the Striking page templates is “Page with Comments” and you use that page template if you want comments for a page. I am hoping you did a search of the forum and found your answer already.

Hi

You have answered this for me before but I have lost the posting. How do you add the page selector at the bottom of the blog page?

Regards

kaptinlin

Hi Stesciuba

Again, I see you are a registered user at the forum, and so I am puzzled by your asking your question here. Your question depends on context – ie, are you referring to using the blog shortcode to create a bloglist somewhere (its part of the blog shortcode settings), or to having pagination for your main blog page (go to your Settings/Reading to set number of posts on the blog page)? I ask that you post on the support forum and also be more specific about what you need to accomplish, and we can assist you.

I was wondering what the update contains and when it will be out? I just bought avada 1.1 and hate it. admin panel is horrible. cant change background in wide screen mode. this theme seems awesome with features but im alittle worried about it not being responsive i know it says it displays ok on mobiles. but i have heard responsive is the way to go. thanks you

kaptinlin

Hi Reflectiveimagez

Thank you for your interest in Striking. I apologize for the delay in responding, as I have had a very bad case of the flu, and KaptinLin has been slogging away on the update without my help, and as a result had no chance to visit TF.

The Striking update is the most signficant ever released. I sympathize on your results with other themes – some other commenters have also noted that many themes just tweak a few lines of css and then release as “responsive” which is hardly a solution. Our next update includes a true responsive release, but we have not talked about it “openly” for a variety of reasons that I cannot discuss publicly at this time except to say we are venturing into uncharted waters with what we are doing (it has to do with the comprehensiveness and complexity of the forthcoming update) and it requires approval by TF.

The delays in the update have been in part due to bad luck, some personal stuff has at times removed either I or KaptinLin from working on the release in the last 3 – 4 weeks, and then last week I (and one of my children) both came down with a really dreadful case of the flu (I am 10 puonds lighter as a result). Furthermore, the forthcoming release is not just seeing a thorough update of all theme code including a responsive version (which is coded separately, not just a few css tweaks), but the installable demos, the online demo, a new support site with a more flexible robust forum, and some new ancillary services being offered at the new support site.

So its a very comprehensive effort, and just taking time. All the theme scripts, jquery, etc are completely updated to the latest standards, many new features are added, the help fields vastly updated and improved, and more – and that’s just the regular Striking!

I do understand if you have to move on. But as many thousands of users have noted, Striking is one of the most comprehensive and customizable themes anywhere, and the extremely robust community and the thousands of custom code snippets we have dropped over the last 2 years I suspect give it a customizability that has few peers.

As an aside, if all our actual users posted there questions on the support forum where they are supposed to be, yours would be the only question here at TF since either I or KaptinLin’s last visit, and thus easily and quickly gotten too!

I will check the forum again in the next day or so in case you have followup questions.

Hi

See above.

jfiega Purchased

Is there a way to make the header static so that it does not scroll, but the remainder of the page content does? A similar effect can be seen on Facebook where the blue header bar with their notifications, inbox, etc. remain fixed as you scroll down the news feed or profiles.

thanks jf

kaptinlin

Hi jfiega

Thank you for purchasing Striking. The ablity you have described is not a native function of Striking.

It would take some custom js coding to accomplish that type of effect. We may soon offer this type of custom js service on a paid basis but for now, this goes well beyond the scope of free theme support. You are also welcome to post on the support forum and see if any of our other members can provide you a ready solution for your question.

@ Alimova

Hi! How to include comments on the page?

Hi the guys are busy updating the new version of Striking, maybe i can help….

When you go to edit or create a page in Wordpress, at the top right of your screen you will see a dropdown menu called “Screen Options” make sure that “comments” and “discussion” is enabled for the page, one checked, scroll down and make sure discussion is enabled.

After that, Striking uses a template with the option to display comments, so use that template on the right hand side before you hit “publish.” To be more specific, it’s under “page Attributes”, you will see ‘default template’ click the dropdown and you will see ‘page with comment’ use that! :) hope that helps.

kaptinlin

Hi Nojule

Hope the donations are going well for your endeavor. Thanks for chipping in with an answer for Alimova!

Its so great to have users step in to assist other users while we are busy slogging away (although the last week I was just busy “ralphing” if you get my drift!).

@ Bradenjs

1) I would like to make the header (above the gradient) black to match the footer, with white text. 2) I can’t get my custom logo image to align left in the header, and I’ve tried all the HTML I know. It is currently laid over my navigation buttons.

It seems you fixed the issue you were having :)

Also Braden, on your about page, the image you have of yourself is really quite big in size, i don’t mean the actual size but the size in kb. The bigger the kb the longer it takes to load. at the moment it is 484.63 kB and you could get it under 100kb without losing quality and that will speed up your load time. I have 100mb/s broadband speed and it was still slow loading. Just a handy tip.

If you aren’t good in Photoshop, try an online solution… http://www.picresize.com/

kaptinlin

Hi Nojule

You get that speed in your neck of the woods? You must be elsewhere then home I think. I did find his page loaded quickly for me, and part of page loading times are geographic related. His images are very nice and crisp, but a great tip of pic resizing!

Again many thanks for chipping in!

Best regards James
