I got back to TF and gave you a comprehensive answer last night. Please go to your first comment on page 180 to see my answer. Again, thank you for your interest in Striking.
Hi there, if we get a mobile version of this awesome theme it would be a dream of a great theme. Is a release date available? If the theme gets responsive i´ll buy it asap.
Just one more question, is it possible to show related content (Blog and static pages) or only recent and popular posts?
Thank you for your interest in Striking.
By mobile version I am assuming you mean responsive version. It is on its way, subject to TF approval, now likely at some point next week.
I don’t really understand your last question. I know Nojules (one of our Striking users) gave you a partial answer but I am still guessing a touch. We have a function automatically built into our blog function so that you can have recent and popular post widgets show in every single blog post. We also have a related post widget, but we have not created a shortcode for this to be used page and post body. It can be used in the sidebar and footer. Actually, I don’t believe we have ever had a request for it, to the best of my knowledge.
Another alternative would be to use blog shortcodes in framed boxes or other styling type features placed into the post content below your main blog content. So on any post, you could create blog lists in the bottom of the post body of whatever content you want.
I hope this answer provides the information you seek.
And if related content, post, image or page is possible, how it will work? Using the same tags?
Is it possible to see related blog posts on portfolio page or regular page for example?
We have a related post widget, and you can have the widget show up in any sidebar area you choose, including the footer area. You can have as many discrete instances of the related post widget on a page as you wish, so you could have for example 3 related post widgets all showing on page X, one called actors, another actresses, and the third related movies.
Our related post widget works by you selecting a blog category (categories) that you wish to show, and then selecting a base for reference, either category or “same tags” or same categories.
By the way, we also have a related portfolio widget as well.
If you need more functionality for related posts, then you may have to look to a third party plugin to obtain more specialized functionality.
I think the striking settings “BLOG” you can turn on or off “related & popular posts module.”
If this doesn’t suit your needs just go and add a new plugin that does exactly that for you, go to plugins>add new> search for related posts!
do we have a real eta yet? im looking at 2 other templates now but trying to hold out. thanks
Please be patient, this update is huge and going to be well worth the wait. If you can’t wait, don’t mention it here, go and buy another theme but you will most likely regret it when the update is released. A couple more days won’t hurt! Just hold on, it will be worth it! There is nothing like Striking anywhere, buy another theme and see for yourself!
allready bought another theme and not happy. the thing that worries me is it was supposed to be out awhile ago. and i know how things are i have my own business sometimes sleep 2 hrs a night. not sure if this will just be an update and site will need to be redone if i purchase older one. could just use some info. only takes a few seconds for a heads up i know support has been great. i see alotof people asking and no new news.
Answered I think everything in my response for your first post.
BTW , I am guessing that you don’t know much about coding given the tenor of your question. Striking is an enormously robust theme, much more so then I suspect most of the other premium themes and this robustness comes from thousands of lines of complex code. This is a task. We also have had some interruptions (the insurance business calls them “acts of god”) which have slowed us down. Furthermore, we are now in effect working on 2 themes, non responsive, and responsive – double the work. This evolved, as if one was to go back to our earliest posts in our thread on responsiveness, we originally indicated we did not want to tackle the responsive task due to a number of roadblocks, and so on.
I suppose what is most important in the end is we have been communicating to our users that we are progressing (hence Nojules responses to you). Today I posted a couple of screenshots of some of the update. I think you cannot access them, but if you send me an email to support @ strikingsupport . com (the spaces are to deter spam robots) and i can email them to you and even communicate with you should you have a continuing interest.
Well as far as i can remember they did say end of October and there is still 4 days left of the month. I am sure they wouldn’t want to release the theme to 13175 clients without it being properly checkout out and tested. I understand your views but just hang on a couple more days and i am sure they will be in touch and let us all know.
do you know if it is purchased before if the update is free? and do you know if site is built with the older version if it will be compadable with new version? thanks
Once you have purchased, all subsequent updates of a theme are free, that is the licensing model on Themeforest.
The current version of Striking -> which is non-responsive (although it is mobile device compatible with most mobile devices – that is different then responsive if you did not know), will be compatible with the update of the non-responsive version of Striking.
However, moving over to the responsive version (if approved as part of the update) is different. This is because you are going from a set site in a fixed framework to a fluid framework where all the css for width is based on percentages, not pixels. So that transition is not all that easy. Particularly if a) one has lots of custom css that is framework dependent and/or b) one makes use of plugins that are non-responsive, which is the case with 95% of all plugins at this time. A non responsive plugin breaks the responsiveness on each page it operates. The lack of understanding of this has bedeviled a lot of wordpress users – i can see it in comments in the threads for many themes, and in some cases the developers don’t even know or recognize this issue themselves, depending on their level of experience.
To provide a truly responsive version, we have all new responsive sliders, and a completely new lightbox script, amongst other changes, in order to provide true responsive operation. Part of what we are working on is some custom scripts to assist users in transitioning from one to the other. Custom scripts mean developing new code from scratch, with no guarantee of success, btw. All of it adds to the time, and sometimes the timeframes become nebulous….
Hope this info helps.
Hey I was wondering if it’s possible to include sharing social icons on each image/video as they open up on a lightbox. it would be an awesome add! Thanks
It is not a native function of Striking. Colorbox, our current lightbox script, does not support this as part of its native functionality. I am sure it can be done with some custom css, but we don’t support it natively in the theme.
wish we had a answear.cant join the form without buying. might go different direction. know its a good theme. but i kind of feel there should atleast give customers a heads up. even if we knew the old striking will just update to the new one. just seems to be no input.
I recently bought this theme and I am very happy with the choice.
I need to insert a zoom lens or magnifying glass on the images, even when using the shortcode [slideshow]
how can I do?
Thank you for purchasing Striking. And thank you for your thoughts and compliments in respect of Striking. We work very hard to provide a good product that rewards the customer on their choice.
Please go to support forum and we will be pleased assist you with your general usage questions. However, I do want you to be aware if I understand your question correctly, this is not a native function of the slideshows as none of our slideshow scripts support this natively to the best of my knowledge. It may be possible to custom code to create the functionality you desire, but we don’t support such customization on a free basis in our forum. I would post on the forum in any case, as one of our very large user group may have tackled this previously and be prepared to assist you. Include in your post the slider you are using, as each slider has completely different coding, and your quest is slider dependent.
To all users, please ask your questions on usage and customization by opening a thread at our Striking support forum (the button linking to the support site is found in the item details page about halfway down), and we will attend. And our support forum has answers to many of the question being asked here at Themeforest.
We do not answer detailed questions on Themeforest we only have so many resources available for free support, and so we concentrate them where we can do the most good – which is our support forum, where we have thousands of registered members, and posted solutions to 2 yrs of questions! As a result, we only visit these Themeforest once a week or so (and post this same message again and again) whereas Striking support forum is daily support by Striking Team.
@reflectiveimagez “wish” Exactly!
ThemeForest is publisher centric, it is quite unfortunate, but this is the nature of Forest.
As you are a paid user, you have unfettered access to the support forum where you are able to ask and get answers on a daily basis. I call that customer centric, and would be interested to find out why you consider it to be otherwise.
This is a $50 theme, not a $500 theme with a support licensing fee. In that context, we have to choose where we can provide the most robust and effective support given that it is free, and a dedicated support forum, which is categorizeable and seachable beats the pants of this archaic comment structure every day of the week (and our support forum is not required by TF in any way, shape or form – its an initiative on our part and i should add that we were one of the very first to do such, and have one of the most expansive and ranging support forums of any theme or plugin in the marketplace).
But TF is a publisher’s marketplace. Its as simple as that. Its like going to amazon.com or a retail online store. But for themes and related products.
I was wondering if there is any way to make the menu fit to the center of the page as opposed to the right top corner. Would appreciate your help
Thanks a bunch!
I believe you posted at the support forum, the proper place for your question. And I see that one of our users also provided you the answer to your question. Should you have any further questions, please post at the support forum.
who knows. not real happy after basically only choice to get a answear was to pay for the theme and post on support. then seems like hopefully 2 weeks for update. should of trusted my thoughts on this. everyone was like o by the end of month. guess not. understand everyone is busy but only takes a min for a update.
Believe I have addressed all your questions, and that you understand the delay in our responses.
BTW , for your info, keeping a theme up to date is an option of a developer, not an obligation. In fact, the common practice by most themeforest designers is to spin – every time they have some updates they wish to implement, they release as a new theme, rather then updating the existing theme. TF favors this practice to ours, which has been to update vs spin.
Two interesting facts:
a)we have released more updates then any other theme in the marketplace, keeping up to date with every browser change, and wp version change since wp 2.9.
b) if you were to go back to the time of the Striking release, Oct 2010, I think you would find that the number of themes that were released on that date or prior, that are current today, could likely be counted on 2 hands. Most 2 yr old themes do not work now.
Our support is uncommon, not common. Nuff said.
I was wondering if there is any way to make the menu fit to the center of the page as opposed to the right top corner
Hi there, the guys are busy so thought i’d help out anyone who needs some help with striking.
Ok the menu fix is pretty easy, in STIKING >GENERAL there is a box called “Custom CSS ” in there put in the following code…
Ok…now to explain those values, if you add for example left: 20px or change the 0 to 20 it will keep it floating left but will give it a margin of 20px so you won’t have to add any margin values.
Same for the right, play around with the default -15px till your menu sits in the middle.
If you have firefox, install a free plugin called Firebug, when installed go to your webpage, press F12 or Shift/CTRL/C and it will open up and then just move over your menu, you can play with the values of anything without actually affecting the CSS file, so it’s for preview purposes in your case.
I hope this helps.

There is no option for this at the moment as far as i am aware. However, there is an awesome plugin i use called Justified Image Grid.
It does exactly what you want, and the styling is awesome. It’s also very lightweight and easy to set up.
You are a star! Thank you for all the posts you did!
hi, how can I change the color of footer submit link , my url is http://ashberryhomesamritsar.com. see in contact us section also I want to add mobile number there for entry please help.
hi, how can I change the color of footer submit link
Hi just go to Appearance>widgets
And where your contact widget is, change the color there. Make sure you have the latest version of “striking” installed or you won’t see the options.
Hi, I want to add one more field of mobile number in contact us section in footer. how can i add it? URL is http://ashberryhomesamritsar.com.
Not sure why you are posting here rather then in our dedicated support forum. On the forum we have numerous threads on modifications possible to the Striking contact us widget – ie this question has been answered, and you can acquire this information immediately without even having to post, or wait for a response.
such a search would turn up threads such as:
which is but one of many on the topic of custom mods for the contact widgets.
Striking is “Strikingly” flexible. Good luck with your site!
Any idea if the theme is compatible with the buddypress plugin? Any help would be much appreciated. Also, I love the theme. It’s worked very well for me.
I think you crossposted on the forum thankfully and the question was answered:
I did not post anything on the forum. The link you provided is from over a month before I posted my comment here and the username is not even close. Since I didn’t post to the forum I didn’t get the PM mentioned in the forum post. Thus, I still need an answer.
