Hi,

Any idea if the theme is compatible with the buddypress plugin? Any help would be much appreciated. Also, I love the theme. It’s worked very well for me.

Cheers, JB

Hi JB

I think you crossposted on the forum thankfully and the question was answered:

Hi,

I did not post anything on the forum. The link you provided is from over a month before I posted my comment here and the username is not even close. Since I didn’t post to the forum I didn’t get the PM mentioned in the forum post. Thus, I still need an answer.

Thanks, JB

Hi there! Great template. I’m having trouble getting the homepage slider images to display. I’ve added new slider items and the slider displays the correct number of pic btns at the bottom of the slider but no image displays. What am I missing? I’m sure it’s an obvious oversight.

I don’t see your purchase badge…..but Nojule answered your question in any case.

Have your made sure that each slider item has a name? Sometimes they won’t show up if you don’t name them. Also, when you added your picture to the new slider item, did you do it via “ADD FEATURED IMAGE ” on the right hand side? That’s where you need to add the image, don’t insert it into the post.

Hope that helps!

Featured item, fixed. Thanks!!

is this compatible with woocommerce?

kaptinlin

Hi

A quick and easy question to answer, so i will although i am jumping it out of order of the queu. Striking has coded so that it supports woo sidebars, and most woo css (we created a class switcher to accommodate the woo commerce css as they use css classes that are normally reserved for themes – this was clever on their part btw but a topic for another time). You can use the woo plugin in single site mode. But, we have been made aware recently that it does not work in mult-isite mode – not an issue for most as very few users work in multi-site setups, but I wanted to disclose this just in case.

If you go to the Striking support forum, you will see many threads on using woocommerce and Striking. I believe hundreds of our users have the combination running.

We provide limited support in respect of the woo plugin. The woo documentation describes what a user should do in respect of integrating it with a premium theme. Some of that is up to you to understand – our job is to support Striking, not 3rd party plugins, but we have very good familiarity with Woo-commerce, and we have responded to woo questions as long as they don’t stray to far into php coding or advanced css. For those, one should be prepared to hire a developer who understands these issues, as such work can be complex and time consuming.

I answered your question more then I would a normal user question here at TF as your question was more “general usage” related and I felt that explaining this would help any potential Striking buyers be informed as well. But as I have said many many times in prior posts here, for actual detail questions, please go to the support forum to post.

To all users, please ask your questions on usage and customization by opening a thread at our Striking support forum (the button linking to the support site is found in the item details page about halfway down), and we will attend. And our support forum has answers to many of the question being asked here at Themeforest.

We do not answer detailed questions on Themeforest we only have so many resources available for free support, and so we concentrate them where we can do the most good – which is our support forum, where we have thousands of registered members, and posted solutions to 2 yrs of questions! As a result, we only visit these Themeforest once a week or so (and post this same message again and again) whereas Striking support forum is daily support by Striking Team.

Hello – I just purchased Striking, and it’s a beautiful theme. Thank you for creating it. Question: How do I minimize the width of images on the homepage slider? I’d like them to look more like they do on this sample page: http://kaptinlin.com/themes/striking/

Here’s my url: www.qipub.com

Hi qupub:

Thank you for purchasing Striking and for your compliments. Our team tries to provide a quality product to the market and glad you like the result.

May I ask you head over to the support forum: http://kaptinlin.com/support/ and we will assist you? The link you provided is to the homepage of the demo, and the only images on it are the full size slider images. But if you create a help thread for your needs at the forum, then we can drill down and get you on track.

I’m getting this message when trying to upload the Striking Theme I’ve purchased onto WP 3 .4.2.

Installing Theme from uploaded file: themeforest-128763-striking-premium-corporate-portfolio-wp-theme.zip Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

Any ideas?

Hi canetete:

Thank you for your purchase of Striking.

I believe you also might have cross posted at the support forum as I did answer a couple of installation related questions on the forum in the last couple of days. But our user Mishka48 – a long time Striking user, did provide the answer below.

Please don’t hesitate to post any further questions you might have over at the support forum: http://kaptinlin.com/support/ and we will assist you.

Very simple idea:
1.Unzip downloaded package on your computer.
2.Inside unzipped package you’ll find several folders – documentation, psd, etc.
3. Among these folders you’ll find the zipped theme folder.
4.Install only this zipped folder and everything will be fine :) 4

+1 to you for also jumping in Mishka!

Hi Everyone!

I managed to get to the bottom of page 180 of these comments. I will be back tommorrow to answer more questions, although you will see a familiar refrain in most of my answers on page 180 – GO TO OUR SUPPORT FORUM TO ASK YOUR QUESTION !. However, I did provide some short answers where appropriate.

@reflectiveimagez – as you are the only non-user who asked questions, and i know you cannot register on the forum, please go to your first post on page 180 and you will see I gave you a comprehensive answer.

Thanks to Nojule and mishka48 for providing answers while I was off with the flu. My posts on page 180 expand on a number of matters for any who want to read.

Back tomm (actually later today after I get some rest – its 1:15am for me now so time for bed….)

This theme looks amazing! It seems perfect for what I want to do – just double checking before I purchase it, with the anything slider I can have small videos on the homepage underneath the big slider? Please let me know. Thanks!

kaptinlin

hi lrcasey

Thank you for your interest in Striking.

To the best of our knowledge, the Anything slider script which we have incorporated into Striking does not support having the miniature videos (a form of preview of the other video slides in the slider) under the main video and so we do not have this feature in Striking.

Hi,

2 quick questions.

Will the new update have layerslider in it?

http://codecanyon.net/item/layerslider-wp-the-wordpress-parallax-slider/1362246?sso?WT.ac=search_item&WT.seg_1=search_item&WT.z_author=kreatura

If not is there a way to get it to work?

Also if I buy now will the upgrade to the responsive theme be free or will it be treated as a separate theme?

Many thanks and looking forward to the update. Have been sitting on the fence for weeks now wondering if to buy now or to wait.

kaptinlin

Hi Chris,

Hi, I have two questions before I buy this theme:

1. Can this theme support Hebrew language (RTL)?

2. We have a few projects and an image gallery for each project – how can this theme support our information?

Thanks

kaptinlin

Hi themedude99:

Thank you for your interest in Striking. Yes, on the hebrew language, and here is a thread we have running to guide users on making this happen:

http://kaptinlin.com/support/discussion/5879/right-to-left-and-hebrew-font-questions-usage/p1

2. That is what the Striking portfolio features are for. You can set up a portfolio gallery for each project in Striking. What you wish to accomplish is a stock feature of Striking.

I’m having a issue with Image Alignment using the one_third column layout. If you go to www.sabercontracting.com you will see it on the image on the right. I can’t seem to figure out how to make all of the images level. Your help would be appreciated!

Hi Melody

Thank you for purchasing Striking. As you are a registered user on the support forum, please post your query as a new thread and we will assist you with your questions. If you’re considering Striking as your Wordpress theme, and you’re looking for use comments to verify your choice:

BUY IT

Not just for the flexibility and ease of use (also for novice Wordpress bloggers), nor only for the speed of updates.

But for the customer support, which shows these folks really care about their product and customers. No matter what you buy, in the long run, that’s going to make the difference.

Cheers from a happy 4x customer

Hi!

On behalf the Striking Team, thank you for your kind comments and patronage.

This latest pending update – although we have done about 50 past feature updates as well and maybe you were referencing those! :) – is a little tardy, although it is also the biggest undertaking yet, and closing in on the last lap or two to the finish line.

We will continue to support Striking as long as the world allows us to do such!

Recently purchased your theme and loving it!

Quick question, I have a table on the homepage with a background color and I cannot get it to show through.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Amber

Thank you for your purchase of Striking, and for the compliments – we work very hard on Striking, and the forthcoming update has many new goodies to it – we are sure a professional designer like yourself will really love it even more! :)

I did take a quick peak at your homepage, but I don’t think you have the table on it currently. Should you have any continuing questions may we request you register over at the Striking support forum, and we will assist you from there.

We have a few threads on the forum on using tables in Striking and I will note one here, and you can head over to the forum and search out some of the others:

I love the styled list icons you used, and would be interested to find out where you obtained them from as well.

Can I hire you to take small amount of words and one or two images and implement this theme on mt web host/server?

I bought it just to use as a basic resume/landing page.

It is so loaded with features, I never even touched it but would like to.

Please let me know. Because I have ZERO clue bout web anything but would love an expert to set it up for me.

I just want to say that Striking is a truly fabulous theme. I’ve created a financial services site at http://www.sippclub.com and I’ve had amazing feedback from all sorts of people: clients, suppliers and financial companies. They all say how easy the site is to navigate and how simple and engaging the site is, and when you’re explaining financial products, clarity is a must. The theme is incredibly well put together, for I’m a mere financial adviser who’s created a really professional looking result. What’s more, the support is fast, efficient and accurate. I had a couple of questions which were answered very clearly, enabling me to achieve my changes with speed and efficiency. It’s not surprising it’s one of the most successful themes on themeforest. Thanks guys – you’re the best.

kaptinlin

Hi Bennisb

Thank you for your patronage, and for your compliments.

I went to your site – nice and professional – and wish you the best of luck with your business. I don’t believe I recall any of your forum threads myself (or perhaps your forum name is different?) and given that you are in the UK, I am thinking perhaps Paul from our team was the person who typically provided assistance since he is our team member who is european based. But I am glad our support forum provided the assistance you needed. We tell everyone to utilize it, and I wonder every day why anyone who has purchased is even posting here – it is a mystery to me…..

Hi, I just buy this theme, but I have problem.

I am trying to insert the slider images, i already follow all what says the manual but I cant see the images in the home page. It only appears the text and the title of the category of the slider item. What is happening?

In the home page settings, the slideshow is activated so I dont know why my images are not shown. Also I desactivated the super cache plugin but still having that problem. I appreciate your help

kaptinlin

Hi Carlos

Thank you for purchasing Striking. I will give you some suggestions below, but I also ask that you please go to support forum and we will assist you in more detail with your questions.

In respect of your matter, be advised as follows: when you are using any of the image sliders such as the Nivo slider, every new slider item has to have a slide title, a featured image, and you should assign to a category. I think you are forgetting to make each image the featured image of its slider item post type. But, when you are using the Anything Slider in HTML mode, which you have up on your site at the moment, you don’t give the slide a featured image. Instead, you put the slide image into the post body content.

If you go to the following link:

http://www.strikingsupport.com/Creating-a-slider-item-and-homepage-slideshow.avi

its a video that was done as a final draft in a prior video series for Striking, and it walks you through everything other then the Anything Slider.

Please give it a watch, and should you have any more issues, post on the forum!!! I would have thought that with every post in the last 5 pages saying “go to the forum…” by now the message would get through to new purchasers?

To all Striking purchasers, please ask your questions on usage and customization by opening a thread at our Striking support forum (the button linking to the support site is found in the item details page about halfway down), and we will attend.
