Hi, now the images of the slideshow are working but only with the “Anything slider effect”. If I activate the other slider effects, the images doesnt appear.

What is the problem?

Hi Chris

The forthcoming update does not have the layerslider in it. We went with the Chop Slider as it has some really neat new features in it, and there seems to be continual development track with it on adding new features.

If you read the comments in the forum, I do talk about some other features forthcoming in something else we are working on.

In respect of the MoOver Slider, regretfully I have no idea. We have not tested it with any version of Striking, and I don’t recall any threads on the forum in respect if this slider either. I would recommend adding to your post at the forum, and add MoOver Slider to the title to see if you can catch some comments from other users. I don’t recall seeing it in any of our user sites, although I have logged into probably 2500 over time to help with this and that.

I will add that integration of a complex slider into a complex premium theme is often difficult, unless the plugin developer did a proper job of coding their css and java. If they did things properly – plugin developers such as Yoast (Wordpress SEO ), WPML , Themecatcher (Quform), RightHere (Styles with Shortcodes and many others), devinfo007 (3cEvents Calendar Plugin) and SevenSparks (umbermenu plus others) come to mind, then the plugins work fine with Striking or require very minimal adjustments to be compatible. We have direct communications with all the aforementioned developers from time to time when something is picked up to assist with these premium plugins working together with Striking.

I do know we have some threads in the 3rd party plugins on other sliders, and I recall that some others are compatible. That is about all I can advise at this time.

The theme is great, I absolutely love it. Could you tell me, is it possible to remove the timestamp next to tweets using the Tweet widget?

I.e. “Test Tweet” instead of “About 2 hours ago Test Tweet”

Or alternatively, make them a lot different (as they both currently run in to each other).

Hi I have problem (I think) with “Cache”. Because sometime I can not to delete/change name of a Article/Category/Page/ and “Slug”. And If I give a name for example for a articles: “striker” after deleting I can not use this name more. I can than use only name “striking1” or “striking2” and so on. In “Advance” option “Clear Cache” is permanently disabled and is not possible to enable it.

I have contact my server provider “iPage” about permission; we have 750 or 755 for folder “cache”. Is that right?

And provider Support tell me:

“As we informed you earlier, the issue is with your WordPress theme ‘Striking’. Could you please change the theme for your website in your dashboard and then verify the website? You need to contact your website theme provider and take their suggestions to fix this issue.”

I see you have cross posted at the forum, and be advised I will be getting to your question this afternoon. I will advise you in the interim to disable all your plugins as the error you are experiencing would normally be attributable to either a bad install or corrupt file, or a plugin causing some functionality to cease. Also confirm with your host you they are using php 5 or above, and preferably php 5.2 or better.

The portfolio was set up correctly, and I have the page above set with the shortcode “[portfolio column=”2” max=”8” cat=”document”]”, which was displaying fine. But now, it just displays an image of the portfolio settings.

Really confused here and need some help asap.

Thank you for purchasing Striking. Please go to support forum and we will assist you with your questions. As both KaptinLin and I have noted in the prior comments, we don’t visit this site that often, whereas the support forum receives daily responses to questions, hence the delay in responding.

BTW – just to get you started, I do see an error showing immediately: ””Image corrupt or truncated” in the error console, and the image paths for the portfolio items all appear to be poached.

Something has transpired at your site – a new plugin? Did you change something in your .htaccess file or set a diff portfolio breadcrumb? Anytime a function that is working suddenly ceases, there is a cause from an action – performed either by you, your host, or potentially a virus or malware. You have to find the culprit. What i would suggest is confirm that each portfolio item are themselves still valid, then post a portfolio list on a test page. If it works on the test page then some things are eliminated, and if not, then you know something is running interference on the portfolio function of your setup, and you have to do the detective work to find out. You have to look back at when it was last working, and examine what changes you made to your site configuration from that point, amongst other things. Striking itself is fine, your problem is something within your current site configuration.

Galleria is another theme, but not by us. Do you perhaps have Galleria also installed in your site themes folder? One of the installs is not correct, and the css between the two is getting crossed – that is what I would suggest at first thought of your error.

If you cannot resolve this matter, then you should again, as I have told everyone above (in every single coment!), go to the support forum and post, and we will render proper assistance.

I misunderstood the description on themeforest thinking it was e-commerce ready … but seems to be actually only ready for a plugin right? Just want to know your (or others’) recommendation before I go shopping again. heh, heh. thanks!

We apologize for the confusion. Striking is ecommerce plugin ready, and has been tweaked especially for woocommerce, with our having made some custom work in Striking especially to accommodate woo. I would recommend you take a look at the 3rd party plugin threads on the support forum, as we have several for customizing the woo plugin.

If you start a thread at the forum, I know that our users have used a variety of other plugins, and hopefully some can contribute their suggestions. I know several others have been used successfully with Striking.

Sorry about the delay in responding, but we don’t surf over here very often – as I noted in practically every post above – the forum is the place to ask questions.

I don’t know if you saw my comments on any of the previous pages, or surfed over to the forum (you can read it just not post if you are not a purchaser) but I have noted we have a very large update forthcoming for Striking, including a responsive theme.

Striking btw, already works extremely well on mobile and tablets. We use mediaqueries for this and in fact some of the Striking development was done on tablets! In almost all mobile devices, Striking works fine, it just does not resize in the form of a responsive theme. For users who wish to continue with a non-responsive version of Striking (and there are many good reasons to continue non-responsive) the next update will have further improvements for mobile device display.

Thank you for your purchase of Striking. Not sure why you had so many “hurdles” since the only requirements are choosing a name, providing an email, and providing your Striking purchase code. That is not much!

Your going to have to head over to the forum anyways, as we don’t answer questions here. And I am not quite sure what you mean anyways, and this comment thread is not the place for a long discussion. But so you are aware, the language flags appear as we have done the developer side setup so that wpml works in Striking – we have specific wpml code already integrated into Striking, including for the wpml flag display. It might be possible to subvert it to work with another plugin, but that would require custom coding, and we cannot even say if it is possible. We have never tried.

There is also code in Striking to accommodate qtranslate, and I recall there are threads on the forum for some other language plugins. You can review the forum threads without registering – you just cannot post.

I posted a support question several days ago in the forum and havnt had a response. Maybe someone could give me some advice on this when possible? I am having a problem implimenting any type of “login as facebook” plug ins for comments. The plug ins are setup correctly according to authors, but the comments section in striking blog reply just seem to not display the plug ins

None of us have worked with login as facebook plugins in Striking, and as we note in our forum guidelines, we try to support some of the most common plugins and usage in Striking, but if we don’t have any experience with the issue, we don’t touch it – especially right now when we are working hard on the updates.

But I will review your thread with the Striking team, as it sounds like an interesting idea, and we will respond this weekend.

One theme is all you need for all you projects!

I just wanted to tell you all that I have big expectations for the next update but most of all, if the striking theme continues to update the theme in the same phase as until now, you can expect miracles:)

I have woo and the support is good but there is a big difference!

The striking support is like having a developer do it for you!

I would be happy to pay 200$ and 20$ a month for the support, this theme is all you need!

Please go to Striking support forum and we give help, as James say in all comments above. Also please tell what language plugin you use. This a wp function, not Striking and some plugin correct automatically, others not.
