A++ support. Solved a issue within the hour. (I did not close a code properly)
Thank you for your purchase of Striking and your kind words. I believe it was Paul from our support team who assisted you, and I am glad you found the help satisfactory.
Striking is a really robust, easy to set up, easy to use and most importantly, well supported wordpress template. I will definitely use this template and Kaptinlin templates again. I am very pleased with their support.
Thank you for your purchase of Striking, and for your thoughts and observations about Striking. We are pleased we were able to assist you in your queries, and that your new site is progressing to your satisfaction.
I’m a photographer who bought Striking about a week ago and it is definitely the perfect template to display my work. I’m also a total beginner in wordpress and even if I had driven the Striking a bit crazy with my lack of knowledge the team had lot of patience and is there to bring the support you need. I guess with the theme you won’t need anything else. there is so much things in it to develop a website that it’s almost overwhelming, in a good sense. Definitely a Premium!
Thank you for your purchase of Striking. Striking has many excellent slider and portfolio display abilities, and has widespread use with photographers and artists due to these abilities. The updates in the 5.1.9 series for the lightbox effects further enhance the ability to show off imagery in its full glory.
As we advertize, we are the heavy duty theme for enabling true layered, in depth, archivable site building. It seems you are getting a good sense of some of these abilities, and I look forward to seeing your finished site.
As you have continuously promised, yet not done which was make this theme responsive. How do I get my purchase refunded?
Nowhere do we say that Striking is yet released in responsive form, so surely you must have been aware of what you were purchasing? While I doubt Themeforest will grant you a refund never fear – the responsive version of Striking is extremely near. The responsive theme principal aspects is actually done – we have only to finish up all the ancillary work such as tuning the help dialogues, building a new installable demo, building a new online demo, etc. I believe we might code in one more premium plugin as well, just to further enhance the value of Striking Responsive, but this won’t have any particular effect on the release timing.
If you are one of those individuals who it seems a dramatic death will occur if you have to wait a moment longer, you can always register at the support forum, and send me a personal message with your contact info, and at a later date this week I can arrange for you to get a prerelease copy. It might be absent some help stuff and a goodie or two, but it will certainly be enough for you to commence your prework while waiting the time for the official release.
I have purchased your theme and when uploading is says:
“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.Theme install failed.”
I’ve downloaded twice now and tried to install twice with same failure notice…I’m in a big rush to get a site up for a client so hope you can help asap.
can you read the documentation in the package first? there is something wrong with your installation.
Thanks, it was ISP problem with FTP access. Thanks for speedy response – all sorted now.
I will add that it was sheer luck that one of us happened to be perusing this forum – it was only because we were uploading Striking 184.108.40.206 to Themeforest.
As per the FAQ tab, we normally provide assistance of all types on our Striking support forum – the link which is found in the FAQ tab. Should you have any other questions please seek assistance at the forum where, as per the testimonials above in this page, you will find we are usually pretty quick to respond, and love satisfied customers.
Thank you for purchasing Striking.
How do I get support for this theme? I have posted a question on the support forum for Kaptinlin and there has been no response.
Hi. while I just peaked at the forum and I do not believe I saw any user with your id – I ask that you be patient! We typically provide responses within a 6-8 hr timeframe – > this is free support, not a paid on demand service! LOL.
I think in fact all the questions open on the forum except one – which no doubt is being researched, have a response.
I would like to purchase your theme. I think it is fantastic. My only concern is that it is not yet responsive. I promised my client a responsive site. Do you have a time frame for when the theme will be responsive?
I provided an update on this to another user in the above comments earlier today. I would like to think within a week or less -> the determinant is always how much support we have to provide to users, as we prioritize support over all matters other then coding to correct bugs (another form of support really). We are working hard to get it out asap.
Thank you for your interest. The responsive version maintains all the same functionality and commonality of settings where applicable – an amazing fact in its own right, but has several new sliders (5 in total including 3 premium sliders) as the current set are not responsive. It also uses fancybox for lightbox rather then colorbox since an official responsive colorbox script has not been released.
And of course, it also includes some completely new abilities, features and settings, as is our practice when providing an update.
I have a question about the nearly finished responsive update of your theme. Can I start building a website based on your current not-responsive version, and than with an update it wil be responsive? I have to make a choice eiter to purchase your theme, or use another responsive theme. But I’ve made the design so that it’s perfectly fitting for your theme…
I hope to hear from you soon…
Kind regards, Annelies
This weekend, likely Sunday, I think we are going to be in a position to distribute demo copies of what is the final iteration of our testing beta, to some interested users. But it will only be available to existing users, who have a valid Striking themeforest license code – you would have to have purchased Striking already, and there are very stringent conditions attached to the release of a beta copy to anyone interested.
Licensing rules are such that we cannot distribute it to anyone who is not a valid license holder, i am sorry about that, but this is the case.
If you have any other questions, you are welcome to send an email to support @ striking support .com (without the spaces) and include your skype id, so we can contact you directly.
I sent a mail two days ago but still waiting for a reply and the time is running..
I’ve the same question with VisionArt_DenBosch..
If i purhase and build the site on non-R, will it be easy to update after R ver. release? Or should i wait for the Striking-R? (Indeed this depends on the exact release date)
I am not sure where you sent your mail? But could you please send it to the address noted in the response to VisionArt above, and include your skype id, and we will contact you.
For both of you, there is some commonality between the two in that we preserved where possible the settings from the current Striking to Striking Responsive. See my response to KawashKaish above for more detail on this.
I just updated to the latest wordpress 3.5.1 like 5 minutes ago, and now my website with your striking theme can’t be viewed all of a sudden… There’s no error message, it’s just blank. Any reason why this could of happened? Thanks
I am not sure why you are posting here as it sounds like a wp issue not something to do with Striking. But we are certainly prepared to assist you in any case and what you should do is go to the Striking Support Forum, register if you are not already registered, and create a thread requesting some assistance.
Striking is tested in WP 3.5.1 and there are no issues. In fact several hundred members have already updated since the WP release – its a non-event so far. We have updated all our test beds etc, with virtually no hiccups.
You most likely should go to the latest Striking version release thread, found as a sticky type thread in the All Discussions category, and then click on my forum name “websys” and follow the link to send me a personal message – I will need your wp and ftp admin logins, and I can go take a look at what transpired. It could be the wp install failed midstream, or any one of a number of other potential causes. This WP update came with a notice to backup one’s database as it makes a few changes to the database tables – did you check with your host as to whether their server config – php and mysql software – were up to snuff for the upgrade?
Anyways, please register at the forum using the same id as you TF name, and reference this conversation in your reply.
Thanks for your response! I figured out it was one of the plugins that updated along with the wordpress update. Everything is in working order again now, look forward to the responsive theme update coming soon!
I just accepted the ‘striking’ upgrade via wordpress and it has vanished…
how do i get the theme back onto wordpress?
Wow – it just vanished! That’s amazing! I wish I could do that…..
On a more serious note – may I ask – the Striking updated notice came with a recommendation that one first go review the update instructions at our support forum – did you do that? It sounds to me like you might be a child theme user who forgot about their child theme? We call this site suicide by child theme in case you are wondering!! LOL
Even the update help fields have some very detailed instructions on what to do and not to do prior to updating.
In any case, please review the instructions I provided above to TJEntrepreneur about registering at our forum and contacting me, which per the FAQ in the tab above is the only place we provide user support.
Also be advised that if you are a child theme user who did not follow the instructions for updating when using a child theme, we levy a service charge for providing assistance.
If you are not a child theme user, then most likely your issue is very simple to resolve, and you get our customary free help!!
Our support team will follow for your post at the forum.
thanks for your help… back on track
I am desperately looking for a theme for my website and am really interested in buying this one. The only thing holding me back is the fact that it isn’t responsive. I read that you are making it responsive now. Will that be a complete new version, or will it be an update from this one? I mean, can I buy it now and update to responsive, or not?
Thank you for your interest in Striking.
1) Yes, we are making it responsive, and that is looking more and more like it will be released by the end of this forthcoming week. The responsive theme itself is actually complete, but with a release like this there is a lot of ancillary work such as making a new demo, a new installable demo, a new sales page to replace the existing one, a new forum for support, a video series to show users how to use it, etc. We wish it could all be done in one minute, but that is not the case. So we are slogging away on all this stuff so we can push Striking Responsive out the door to our users.
2) Anyone who has a valid Striking license will be able to get a matching copy of Striking Responsive for free. So should you buy Striking now, when we do the release – you effectively get a new theme for free!
What will please you and all users is that we in fact have managed to preserve the powerful abilities of the current Striking in Striking Responsive. This is quite important as most responsive themes are quite simple in their settings and abilities. Plus, we have added yet more features and abilities to Striking R – new widgets, new sliders, and more. It will be huge bang for the buck!
At our support forum we have a thread on the forthcoming responsive release, and some beta testers posted some thoughts and they were a very happy bunch!
Thanks for the swift reaction. I have decided to buy the theme and use your offer to get the responsive version later on too.
Best regards, Meghan
Hi wesley soccer:
We don’t actually have a Woo demo using Striking at this time. Over on the Striking Support Forum we have a Sticky Woo thread where we have posted some screenshots.
I think we will build a full woo demo shortly, and also in our update of our showcase, have a Woo section where we show some sites that have been built with Woo and Striking. Striking is optimized for Woo – we have custom support built into the theme for Woo sidebars, Woo CSS, etc. The sticky thread at the forum shows the custom admin we have built to facilitate Woo.
Can I insert picture in “accordion title”?
As per our FAQ above, we ask that all questions regarding usage of Striking be posted on our Striking Support forum, and one of our support team members will provide an answer.
This theme and the people behind it have surprised me time and time again. Since I purchased this theme, the authors have put newer versions out that allow for even more customization of theme without adding any, or only a little, custom css. What amazes me most however is the huge resource of the support forum—if you want to do some customization not in the theme options in the backend, chances are someone who bought the theme has already asked theme support how to do this in the forums, the very often they provide the necessary css additions there.
However, they are also very willing to help in a personal manner—logging into your site via the wp backend and ftp to help troubleshoot, fix problems and make necessary customizations. I think that the size of the support forums and the knowledge that is there due to the huge community of people that are using this theme, plus the fast and personal help of the support team make this theme well worth the money.
Thank you for kind words of Striking. We work hard to provide good theme and support for all.
If possible I would love to try the responsive Striking version.. so if you are still in the need of a beta tester.. let me know !
Thank you for interest. We do full beta release to all Striking owners using Striking API shortly. Supposed to be Tuesday but we decide to add some new feature last minute (user requests), plus have to change jquery library to help all new sliders and functions work together better. So should be Friday or Staturday instead.
Then all Striking owners get to test! You see notice on forum from James when available. Check back Friday and Saturday.
I purchased this theme over a year ago and absolutely LOVE it.
I’ve experimented with a variety of Wordpress themes and the support for Striking is incredible.
You won’t be disappointed.
Thank you for kind words of Striking. We work hard to give good theme and support.
I’m unable to create an support account as I’m not the original account to purchase the theme (dev inheriting a project). I’m looking to make a small change by having 12 items on the portfolio instead of 8. Any chance you could help me out?
If you work on customer site, they have themeforest purchase id, so you can get id from them – it is part of TF account in downloads section. Then use that purchase id to register at forum. Simple!
We look for post over at forum after register.
Hi kaptinlin, I love your theme and i planning to buy it soon.
I’ve a question about the sidebar… i would like to know if it’s possible to add more than one sub navigation menu in the sidebar area (see the link below).
Could it be done?
Yes. You can have more then one sub navigation widget in the sidebar.
Guys, congratulations on the theme.
I am using Striking as my main theme for almost a year and I am absolutely happy with it. I’ve already tried several other themes and I’ve never found a theme as powerful as Striking. Besides, the support is amazing. I had great experiences with your kind help and solutions.
I Really recommend it.
