I like to reply and comment on this as well. I can only say this is the best theme and support team i have ever seen. They always go 100%, above & beyond to help people out.

Reading your remarks does not justify that at all. moreover if i read all correct and understand (which i do), you totally inflicted the first crash after updating, on yourselves.

On the support forum there is a step by step documentation on how to migrate. It has been there, as far as i recall, for more then 6 months for all people who already wanted to testdrive the beta version of this theme and could not wait. In the meantime the team was adding more and more abilities and adjusting the working of the theme according their customers feedback they received.

Instead of getting your grieve here you could have participated in that beta test and maybe had some of your idea’s implemented like i got.

This theme and team has the best support i have ever experienced and they always go all the way to help everybody out. They even contacted me in a one on one call when i started with this theme and needed some extra explaining as i was a wordpress noob. They did not have todo that as all my issues were not related to the theme at all.

I do not understand what your problem is about going to the forum and post your issues in there. You sound more like a theme developer trying to bring another better theme down.

kaptinlin

Hi Merksatr:

Thank you for your observations and kind words. Glad our live support was available to assist you.

Yes, we have a video on how to update properly, and several past threads with a step by step tutorial.

After I finish replying to these comments I am going to update that very video, to the latest MultiFlex 1.0.1 usage.

We note in the Support Tab above, per Themeforest requirements, that our support is at the forum, not here at Themeforest. The Striking Themeforest comments are for pre purchase and, when we get them, words of praise (or otherwise…..).

I believe that the user you are referring is not English first language, and it may just be that in his culture, his conduct is considered acceptable. We prefer not to judge, but instead focus on doing what we can to always improve our product, and draw inspiration from all, irrespective of the method in which it is proferred.

We at Striking hope you obtain many more happy years of use from our theme. After all, when the avg theme only has a shelf life measured in months, and we are already hitting 4 yrs, with no end in site, how can one not be happy with Striking!! :D

Disclosures:

First I want to make clear I am a just a regular Striking user since 2011, having participated actively in its support forum since then. I have built and manage quite a few sites using this theme and have successfully updated them to the new responsive version.

I was about to leave a comment to congratulate the Striking team for the release of such an awesome responsive update when I saw these comments by wtli2007 that seemed to me absolutely unfair and even almost offensive, so here is my response to him.

To WaiTing

Hi WaiTing,

I must say your statements perplex me. For example:

It is a matter of your problem solving attitude and quality.

Really?? And that is being said by someone whose “attitude” is to complain before asking for help at the right place (the forum support). And, moreover, what it is hilarious is the fact that the issue you have experienced is the result of your own wrong actions.

Clearly, the only one here who seems to have a poor “problem solving quality” is you as you have not been able to do something that hundreds of people have done with ease –to find the instructions to update, either the written ones or the video, and be able to follow them– so please do not try to teach “problem solving” lessons to James, Paul and Kappy (the Striking Team) who have a proven record of thousands and thousands of successfully solved questions on the forum –plus more outside it– 99% of them related to personal customization not related to the theme at all.

Here another one:

This bug definitely reflects the new version’s quality. It is very disappointing.
  • Do you really think you have the technical skills to evaluate the quality of this theme? From reading your comments it is pretty clear to me you do not have them.
  • Have you thought for a moment that “perhaps” you have made serious mistakes while updating your site? Come on try to be humble for a moment.
  • Do you realize you are unfairly damaging the reputation of a product and the people behind it (who, by the way, are proven great professionals and the kindest people you could ever come across)? Please, think twice.

I have two hypothesis here. Either you had a bad day and just wanted to vent your frustration –then please publicly rectify– or you are a theme developer trying to bring another better theme down as merksatr said –then I have no words for you–.

Striking has been my choice because of the quality of its code, its flexibility, functionalities, robustness, amazing support and now StrikingR Multiflex, a free update, is the theme I have been dreaming of. Thank you Paul, James and Kappy.

kaptinlin

Hi Diego

Of course I know who you are, and thank you for your support. We hope we can continue to earn your trust and goodwill with the quality of our product.

Yes, the site is for a political cabinet.

It’s true, not been in Skype for a long. Lot’s of work to do. Now I’m no longer a lone designer, I’ve established a company here in Portugal.

I’ve been using striking whenever I have the chance to choose the theme. For now, I’m starting two new projects using Striking.

Somewhere in near future, I’ll be posting some suggestions in the forum that, from my point of view, can make Striking even better.

Just one question: Any particular issue to address in case I want to update the 15th November build of Striking Responsive to the latest version available here in TF? Just replace theme with FTP? Or any particular issue to take care of?

Thanks a lot for everything!

kaptinlin

Hi Joel

I believe Paul advised me he dealt with some posts from you.

The site looks great. I see you have Contact Form 7 and All In One Event Calendar plugins in use.

Hi! I think that this theme is the best theme of WP. I bought some themes like Avada, Hairpress, but this theme is the best. I like design of this theme. All features i need I found in this theme. Big THANK Striking Team !!!

Hello, is there some page where we can see what is new and fixed in newest version of this excellent theme?

Hi Draza

The changelog included in the theme download contains a list of the adjustments. We will have some new info at the forum and in the revised Item Details page here at Themeforest soon as well.

Hi, It’s great to see the responsive version out and will update my sites in coming weeks. I will add however that the demo’s logo & homepage design for this responsive version of the theme is not so good, I’d suggest you improve this or it will probably hurt your sales some, I hope not because I know it’s a nice theme after using it twice. All the Best -

kaptinlin

Hi padmakara

Thank you for your thoughts. The current demo content is the installable content that actually comes with the package. We have been focused on support after the release, and are going to turn over the next few days to making the TF demo content more “flashy”, particularly the front page. The content in their at the moment is just placeholder content.

Would love to but I’m not sure where you are talking about.

kaptinlin

Brian

Sorry for the late response. We have a thread at the forum for posting about sites:

http://kaptinlin.com/support/discussion/9024/need-to-know-about-your-responsive-sites-for-our-new-showcase

As well, MultiFlex includes the fotorama slider, and you may want to consider using it for your homepage slideshow. It gives the ability to have full page slides, and show images in a larger more focused size.

If you have any questions about this, post on the forum and I or Paul will respond.

Had a quick question/advice

None of the facebook widgets are showing up on my sidebar. It’s just a blank space. Any suggestions. Thanks

kaptinlin

HI absitedesigns

A couple of things:

a) we don’t have a facebook widget! :D But I am thinking perhaps you are using Ad-aware or Ghostery in your browser, which would block widgets from social sites depending on what options you enabled.

b) We provide our product support over at our support forum, which is indicated in the Support Tab above per Themeforest rules. Can you please surf over to the forum (the link is in the Support Tab) and post a thread and we will assist you there with this issue.

Please post a url in the thread so we can surf to the page, and examine it with our developer tools, although I suspect the problem is not theme related. If it is a facebook plugin or something you obtained elsewhere, we will still hop over and give it a look and give you some feedback.

There is a little bug with titles when blog is not in one column mode. Titles are not wrapped, they are cropped (see link http://i.imgur.com/mfV6Bzu.png) so because of that I cannot update my site with new version :(

That problem doesn’t exists in non-responsive version of striking.

kaptinlin

Hi Draza

Your right! When did that happen!! LOL. Its just a small css issue that occurs in that blog variation in viewports 568>. We will address it in the next update.

Thanks for pointing it out.

If I may impose, in the future, can you report these at the support forum instead? Had I not been over here to help another developer with a matter no one would have been at Themeforest until early next week – > we indicate in the Support Tab above we provide all our support at the Support forum, which is attended to constantly every day. Themeforest we visit every now and then, but its simply not where we tend for support issues.

Yes, next time I will put it on support forum, thanks! :)

kaptinlin

Hi Draza

It is fixed in version 1.0.2, which I noted in the prerelease thread a while ago. Actually, it was not an error, but a deliberate thing by Kaptinlin. So what we have done in the next release, is give the user two choices – to have the icon inline, or have the text right justified as in the old Striking style. There is a new setting where one choosed the style, in the shortcode.

Thank you for finding and reporting, and cross posting.

Let me say first my comment comes from the perspective of a total novice when it comes to web development. I looked at a lot of themes, even purchased a few only to become frustrated with the process of building a site with little or no experience. Just when I was about to give up I ran across the Striking template. I hung around the on the striking forum for a bit and had the chance to see some stunning sites built on the Striking theme. I was more than impressed but I couldn’t shake that fact that I’m a novice. But what I noticed while hanging out in the support forum was the responsiveness of the developers to questions from end users. I knew if I were to buy this template that’s what I would need to get from point A to point B. So after witnessing their strong support for the product I purchased the Striking theme. The timing was right as they were just introducing a responsive version, which I need, but honestly didn’t know what it was at the time. Anyway for those who might shy away because you don’t have a lot of experience, think again. With Striking I had what I consider a very usable site published and online in 48 hrs. I might add it was so much better then the previous site that I payed to developed. Mind you I think nothing beats a good developer even if you are using a theme. The end result was me having a very usable site in no time, with only one issue involving a slider. And that issue was resolved by support with in 8 hours of my posing the question for help. another really cool feature is that Striking works so well with so many cool plugins. You click they work. I really didn’t want to struggle with getting simple things to work. And with striking it was plug and play for me. That said there’s still a lot for me to learn about web development to improve my site. The latest Striking theme has demo content, tutorials and everything you need to enhance your site. At the end of the day all that matters is does your site serve the purpose it was intended for? With striking my clients and prospective clients have been pleased with my offering. Money is coming in….....thanks to Striking, mission accomplished. You can see my work in progress here www.thecaptureexperts.com

Hi James and the gang! In the process of building a new site using Striking. I wonder if you can point me in the right place to answer two questions. I have spent time looking for answers on the forum and just have not been able to find, what I hope, are some simple solutions.

1) I would like my site title (not a logo) to be centered not only when I look at the site on the big screen, but also on my iPhone, i.e. when mobile. The site title seems to be not really in the center. It looks that way (sort of ) now because I increased the font size.

2) When viewing the site in Mobile, the background behind the navigation pull down menu turns blue. For the life of me, I cannot find where to change this color.

As always, thanks for your help. I also welcome an answer from any other Striking user who can help!

Regards, Tim http://cieos.org
kaptinlin

Hi Tim

1) If you center your site logo and title in the desktop view (they are left aligned by default), you have to use viewport css (also known as viewpoint, and media only) to specify that it only be centered for viewports 768> as we center the logo and title by default in the viewports less then that.

If you did not use the correct responsive css, then once in a mobile viewport, your custom css, having not specified the viewport, will actually throw the logo and title off center.

2) Change your header background from “100%” auto to “cover.” Then your background will cover the whole header area.

Tim, if I may impose upon you (I know its tough to teach an old dog new tricks, and I also remember you have been with Striking since about 1 day after launch all the way back in 2010…. btw, belated Happy New Year) if you have a need of any followup can you post at the support forum?

Best Regards Striking Team James

thejapanobserver

Long time getting back to say thank you for the help! This is the best theme (theme and support) here on Themeforest!

kaptinlin

Tim

Thank you for saying such. Given how many themes you own and have worked with these words are much appreciated.

I saw you post in the thread were we indicated the temp fix for the logo element (which we shamefully admit we forgot to include in the skin.php file – we were making some changes to the loading order, cutting and pasting numerous lines, and simply forgot the “paste” part for the logo margin, so the css is there in the css file doing absolutely nothing at this moment! :) )

Of course this will be corrected in MultiFlex 1.0.2 which is almost ready for prime time!

James

This theme is exactly what I’m looking for as I need a nice, premium multisite WP theme. The only thing I must have that I don’t see in the demo is a top bar for a secondary menu and social icons. I see some sample sites that have this.

Is that an option for this theme to add a top of page menu above the logo with widgets? If not, do you offer paid customization to add this?

kaptinlin

Hi

Very glad you are progressing so well. We are always surprised when some users ask about the visual composer for site building. They don’t realize how easy we made things with our shortcodes and admin panels, likely the best admin anywhere.

BTW, the next release of MultiFlex (1.0,2) adds another background ability to the Individual Page General Options – a background loader for the feature header area!

Our customization level per page is, to the best of our knowledge, unique amongst wp themes. As you noted, we created an easy way for all page level elements to be customized, per page, not just site level.

Thank you for your rating of the theme, and your confidence in our product.

Hi,

I am getting this when I choose to place rev slider in page featured header settings: Revolution Slider Error: If you want to use the PHP function “putRevSlider” in your code please make sure to check ” Include RevSlider libraries globally (all pages/posts) ” in the backend’s “General Settings” (top right panel).

Or add the current page to the “Pages to include RevSlider libraries” option box.

Marco

kaptinlin

Hi Marco

The answer to this is over at the support forum – in fact we have a specific thread for it in the Announcement threads.

It is not actually an error, but rather that the newest vesion of the Rev Slider included in the theme gives you the option to choose whether to load the plugin scripting globally, or only on select pages.

What it is waiting for you to do is make that selection.

The forum thread:

http://kaptinlin.com/support/discussion/10171/tutorial-enable-the-revolution-slider-javascripts#Item_1

has a tutorial.

Again a reminder for all -> the support forum is the place to go for usage questions, and most likely already has the anwer!!

PRE-SALES QUESTIONS (1) There is no preview of wooCommerce anywhere on your site. Do you have an example to show that you can do the same thing as this site http://themeforest.net/item/kallyas-responsive-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/4091658

(2) Can I have 4 tabs on my shop front page – LATEST PRODUCTS, FEATURED, ON SALE, SPECIALS. – Can I do this

(3) On the Shop page, can I insert images/text or carousel with brands between the red stripe under the slider and the Some Of Our Latest Products Header?

(4) Do you have a QuickShop View plugin?

I would greatly appreciate a very early reply as I want to purchase this theme.

kaptinlin

Hi Vanavah

1) I regret to say we have not yet built our our woo demonstration. I can send you to a site which has the current MultiFlex, and the latest version of woo 2.1.0 in it:

http://lafranceaulimbourg.nl

2) the kalyas page you are referencing is a regular page built by shortcodes from what i can see in the source code. Those are tabs, with the woo product categories shortcode in each tab. So this is a static page set to be the shop page in the woo Product settings tab.

You can do this not only in Striking MultiFlex, but I would think in any theme which has tab ability. Creating tabs in MultiFlex (horizontal or vertical tabs) and using the woo product catogories shortcode would allow you to do what you requested.

3) Even if you are using the Woo default shop page, you can add our product carousel. However, you can only have it above or below the woo content, whereas in a custom page which has been elected to the Shop Page, you of course have better control of where the carousel would appear.

I should advise that our carousel shortcode does not at this time show captions, which is coming in a future update. It does however allow one to choose specific products to appear. So it can be customized for every appearence.

4) no we do not.

Thank you for your interest in Striking MultiFlex. As this was just released, be advised that, as we have done in the past, there will be updates in the future, as we build out further some of the new core abillites. We have the best record of updating of any theme in the marketplace, and I do not even know of any other premium theme anywhere that has our update record.

But I do not wish to mislead you on current abilities. Our page would appear differently then the Kalyas page, and it will be at least a week before we have a full woo demo built out, and possibly longer. Ours is an extremely customizable and flexbile theme, but our Woo appearence is simply different then that in this other theme.

MultiFlex, while having specific Woo customization, is actually a multi-ecommerce plugin theme. You can run other ecommerce plugins at the same time such as Easy Digital Downloads and/or Image Store, and some of our ecommerce abilities are designed to work with all custom post type ecommerce plugins, not just woo.

Hello,

I can’t post on the support forum as I didn’t purchase this theme and I don’t have the license code for this theme. I am a developer who is customizing it for a client, so hopefully you will respond to this post.

The person using this theme has asked to remove the main content area on the home page so it only shows the slider in the upper area and the footer. It looks fine on a regular computer or mobile device in landscape mode. However there’s still a big gap between the top area and the footer. I’ve used all types of CSS code to try and bring the footer up right underneath the slider, but to no avail. I wasn’t able to find any CSS code for media queries, but then after creating my own, still no luck. After digging deeper, I think I might have found the issue. There seems to be a div that contains the footer that keeps it at the bottom, but there is no id or class name associated with it to make adjustments for this particular circumstance. Here’s a link to the screenshot. (http://www.michellecbonilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Footer-Issue-Screenshot.png) Can you please advise?

Thank you in advance.

kaptinlin

HI

Respectfully, your client should log into their themeforest account, grab their license code, in order to register for the forum and give you the password to the forum id so that you can post. The whole process from start to finish would take about 2 minutes, and possibly less. It is that quick.

Proper registration is our and Themeforest’s only defence against piracy, and we think it is reasonable to request anyone desiring help to undertake this very quick and speedy procedure.

As well, were they to log into their account, then they could download the responsive version of Striking – known as Striking MultiFlex, which is the current downloadable package for the Striking Theme and recently released as a free upgrade for existing licenseholders.

The version of Striking you are working with is not responsive, so css based on media queries is not going to have any benefit, and as it is the older fixed framework version, there is no responsive css in the screen.css file.

Can we please give the Striking Team more than five star?! I bought Striking Theme three years ago and i never bought another theme since! It’s the BEST WordPress theme, it really gives you full customization capabilities, also if you don’t know code. And if you’re a developer, you’ll find out it’s very easy to customize, because it’s really well coded. Also, it has an AWESOME support team.

kaptinlin

Hi Nicola

Coming from a high end Magento developer and site designer like yourself those words are music to our ears. Glad we have your confidence.

I was going to buy this but there is no video in the gallery and since my portfolio is mostly video I can’t use it. :( Everything else looks good though.

kaptinlin

Hi

Your right! None of our portfolio pages in the demo content demonstrate our video gallery portfolio lightbox function, and that is one of our more famous abilities! We had them in the prior version of the demo, but it seems we forgot to include at least one portfolio list with video items in this demo.

You will be relieved to hear that in fact we have a video portfolio type, which of course opens in a lightbox and can be part of a portfolio list (what you are calling a “gallery” is a portfolio list – a list of portfolio items displayed by the portfolio shortcode).

And even better, our portfolio video items have mobile fallback. As you are likely aware, while having a portfolio item display in a lightbox may be desirable in a desktop or tablet, it is not at all desirable in a phone. So you have the option in phones to have the videos open directly, rather then in a lighbox.

Our video portfolio item supports html youtube, vimeo, and self hosted mp4 video.

I am working today, and I will add a few screenshots of the portfolio post options, which show all 8 of our portfolio post types, and I will also add some portfolio video items to the galleries. In fact, several of the portfolio types are not represented in the examples, and so we need to modify them.

I will advise you now, the Striking Theme has always been famous for its portfolio options. I am unaware of any other theme which has 8 portfolio types, and you have abilities such as substitute image, dual linking (image links one place, Read More links to another), the ability to restrict the lightbox size, custom breadcrumb and url rewrites, up to 8 columns, and much, much more. We support audio, video, image, html lightbox, documents (pdf, word, excel, ppt, zips, rars and many more), etc.

Perhaps the best feature of all is that we are a theme that is approaching 4 yrs of usability, and yet we remain current. One can purchase Striking and not be concerned that one will have to look for another theme in a few months. No theme in the marketplace has the record of updates Striking possesses.

This is fantastic James. Thanks for the quick and thorough response. Yes, it looks like Striking is the one for me. I’m making my final decision soon and I really appreciate your help! :)

kaptinlin

Your Welcome. Hope we see you. Version 1.0.2 is being released shortly, and has some nice tweaks in it for HTML5 video.

looks like an awesome template! One question. I noticed that on the blog post, the images open in like a “lightbox” type effect. Is it possible that when we click on the images it opens teh blog post instead of the image?

thanks – Chris

kaptinlin

Hi Chris,

Yes you can link the image to the post or the lightbox popup by its settings.

And the bloglist shortcode has even more abiltities. If you click on the tab in this page called ‘Shortcode Option Panel’ you can see all abilities of the shortcode, most of those options you also have at hand for the default bloglist.

great video choice on http://kaptinlin.com/themes/strikingr/shortcodes/video/ the html 5 video player. !!!!! this template has so much potential for the so many churches I help. thanks! (will purchase soon!)

kaptinlin

Oddly enough, Striking has huge use in the religious and related charitable communities. We are even going to post some church sites in our revised showcase. I think 1 or 2 of the sites listed in the item details page (the list of Responsive Sites ) are churches.

Striking has full html5 video implementation by shortcode, audio shortcode, and various podcasting type plugins work with MultiFlex, so we have been a a popular choice for church/religious sites.

BTW, in the next update of MultiFlex (next version is 1.0.2) we are adding some extra mobile capabilities to the html5 video shortcode.
