It looks awesome! :) I really like the idea. Good luck with sales!

Thanks a lot Flower.

ok, looks good, i love it but the vertical text is too large, i have a 1024×768 screen, and i can see all the text and the contact button is in the bottom of my explorer

kubasto

Thanks.
It all depends on the content, plus the ThemeForest frame at the top takes some space too. If you use shorter texts and less menu items it’s all visible on smaller resolution displays. Anyway, I’ll make some changes in the new version to improve the impression.

Looks great and love the idea but in my screen resolution I cannot see the entire website. I use 1366×768 and at least a quarter of the website does not display within my browser.

Thanks.

Hi there,

I think to improve your overall sales, its best to correct the problem on your live version. A lot of people will not buy because of this. I’m not new to ThemeForest by no means and I do realize that the frame takes space, I never leave the frame intact when previewing a template I am interested in purchasing.

Fantastic template, I think the concept is very unique. I like it lots. But honestly first impressions sale and I think this may hurt sales a little. Other than that, GREAT job!

kubasto

You are right, thanks for advices. I’m uploading the new version which deals with this issue.
Cheers

I would have bought, but on my screen (1280?800) is not visible the entire site ((

Very original :)

I think you’ll have troubles with buyers with calculator-size monitors :)

This design/concept is sick!!! Very rarely am I blown away by designs here anymore because they all seem to recycle the same things. But this one is great! Very creative. I love it. Bookmarked and purchased in about a week.

Can we look forward to a CMS version anytime soon?

kubasto

Thanks guys,
I have WordPress version in my plans too.

How do you get back to the portfolio after viewing details?

kubasto

I’m not sure if I understood you correctly, but if yes, just use the BACK button of your browser or click PORTFOLIO in the menu :)

Default-user

Right. But if I have 60 items in there and i’m looking at details of 55 and have to hit the back button, doesnt that bump me all the way back to the beginning? I would have to horizontally scroll all the way to 56 and repeat to look through the whole portfolio. I’m using a large number to make a point but that would get kind of annoying, not being able to smoothly look through an entire portfolio real fast. Low usability. The back button to navigate a website seems a little awkward in my opinion.

Nice work, I just wish there was a solution for that.

kubasto

Good point rez, but there is a solution you can use.
First of all, Firefox and Opera back you directly to the proper item, so there is no problem, and if you want all users to have it nice, you can disable ajax content loading (and show it all at once) – then all browsers work OK.

Love this, finally something different.

it looks unique and totally different, good job. :)

Very unique, love this out of the box design! :)

What an amazing idea you’ve got there! Excellent job, way to be inventive and innovative. It really stands out above the rest, its sort of in a class all its own. I love it personally, good job!

I like it alot too, very creative stuff and I would be interested in the WP version.

Also I don’t know if the wordpress version could have this but I’l like it to have say 15-20 posts to scroll horizontaly then a button to say previous posts or earlier posts and then then previous 15-20 posts appear on page 2. It would take a while to load if you had over 100 posts wouldn’t it. Or could this be a setting in the wordpress version to say how many posts you wanted to include on the home page before you had to press a button for older posts.

Anyway bud I love your style and look forward to more stuff from you.

I really like this. It’s creative and the ajax content loading is a great feature. I think a blog or news site using this format would be able to keep visitors on the site longer. It does a great job of grabbing your attention, filling the browser and really focuses my attention on the content. That’s not easy to do. Great job.

Thanks a lot guys.
@elephant2009 – Yes, number of maximum posts per page will be configurable in the WP version.

I just want you to know new version is ready to download.

I’ve improved support for small resolution displays. Check it out the demo.

Cheers.

I will wait for the wordpress version! certainly i will buy it!

Anyone know how to edit the ‘see more’ links for each thumbnail displayed on the portfolio_small.php page? It seems every thumbnail displayed goes to the same portfolio page and I can’t figure out where in the code I can individually change each thumbnail to go to their corresponding portfolio page.

http://decipherstudio.com/stuff/portfolio_small.php

Do I change it on the ‘item.php’?

I have tried, but unsuccessful.

The same goes with the post.php. Whenever I add a new item to this file it duplicates the post.

kubasto

I can see you’re not using any CMS , so in your situation I recommend HTML version (which is included besides PHP version).

It will be easy for you to add posts and items pages. You’ll just need to edit index.html (content section after: BEGIN CONTENT ) by copying, pasting and editing posts.

If you could direct me to the exact PHP file I would need to edit that would be extremely helpful. I know enough about coding to be able to go from there – I think.

On the portfolio_small.php page, I want to be able to click on a thumbnail and take me to its respective portfolio_page.php page. That is where I am stuck. Which file do I edit to add these links?

http://decipherstudio.com/stuff/portfolio_small.php

I would really like to use the PHP version of the site and NOT the HTML .

Thanks for your quick replies. Love the design.

kubasto
You’ll need to add new parameter to every element of the array in example_items.php (or another such file). E.g.:
...
'url' => 'item-1.php',
...
Then you’ll need to use it in item.php (where now is one example link for every item). Just change all occurrences of portfolio_page.php in item.php to:
<?php echo $url; ?>

Anyway, I’m going to make some changes to the template for users like you, who doesn’t use CMS and still want to use PHP version. New version should be ready this week. Cheers.

array
  (
    'title' => 'Example portfolio item with image slider',
    'thumbnail' => 'small/p1/b.jpg',
    'gallery' => array('big/p1/b.jpg', 'big/p1/a.jpg', 'big/p1/c.jpg', 'big/p1/d.jpg', 'big/p1/e.jpg'),
    'excerpt' => '<p>Tantas utinam ad pro, vix quidam docendi ut. Timeam placerat reprehendunt vim ne, mazim possit takimata nobis delenit et. Id diceret ornatus appetere sea, vitae explicari conceptam cum ne. No sed denique mnesarchum, sed ne mollis iudicabit theophrastus, cu ornatus appetere quidam docendi graeci discere impedit quodsi vivendo conceptam.</p>',
    'webiste' => 'www.themeforest.net',
    'author' => 'Kuba Sto',
    'categories' => 'web design, ID, marketing',
    'tags' => 'PHP, HTML, SQL, CSS'
    'url' => 'item-1.php'
  ),

The above code is the first ‘array’ taken from your example_items.php file with the change you suggested. The below code is taken from the items.php file as suggested where the ‘portfolio_small.php’ was replaced. My site doesn’t display properly now as if the code is incomplete somewhere.

<a href="<?php echo $url; ?>" class="more" title="See more">See more</a>

http://decipherstudio.com/stuff/index.php (DOESN’T DISPLAY )

Additionally, I created an ‘item-1.php’ file that the above link would direct to.

http://decipherstudio.com/stuff/item-1.php

kubasto
Lost a comma after the penultimate element of the array. It should look like this:
...
'tags' => 'PHP, HTML, SQL, CSS',
...

And now everything should be ok.

Correct – fixed it. Thanks for taking the time and again the quick reply.

I’m glad I could help :)
