Nice work. I have one question. I’d like to use the minimal home page, but would like to add Prev and Next buttons at the end of each post – any easy way to code that it?

Hi rtstrategy,

unfortunately, there is no easy way to do this. and we also haven’t found the easy way to implement it.

As stated in https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/wiki/Planned-Features#themes the prev-next pagination and ‘latest posts’, ‘related posts’ will be rolled out in the future plan of Ghost itself.

but there is also an alternative. that alternative would be :
  1. set the post-per-page to 1 in your ghost admin/ghost/settings/general/
  2. And then, change the view of index.hbs to look like the post page(post.hbs). you could do that by copy the content in post.hbs and paste it into index.hbs, and modify {#post}} into {#posts}} and {/post}} into {/posts}}

that would make your homepage to display only 1 post and with a full content at that. But there is also a drawback. You won’t be having cover images and post lists like the current homepages.

Hope it helps. Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Regards.

Hi Aestik,

Great theme! However, I’d like to add post images, how would I enable this in the Suave theme?

Thanks

aestik

Hi otaku_coder,

Do you mean something like images post format? like one that WordPress has? if yes, Ghost don’t have any post formats. not sure if it will be available in the future version too.

if what you mean to show image(s) in the excerpt post, that also a little bit tricky for the current version of Ghost. since Ghost don’t have “featured image” too for now. You need to create the post with image at the very top of your post. and then, add this line of code in your index.hbs :

{{content words="0"}}{{excerpt}}

this will shows you the image and a chunk of excerpt in your post list (index page).

or :

{{content words="0"}}

this will shows you only the image. only the image without the excerpt.

of course you won’t be having any images at all if you don’t put image in the very top of your post.

And lastly, if what you mean is you just want to insert image(s) into post, you can easily do that following this guide : http://docs.ghost.org/usage/writing/

Hope it helps.

Cheers.

There is an ugly bug on the demo front-page : http://puu.sh/5c5lj.png

Otherwise, it looks cool.

Yeah, I agree with what Lukyvj said.. how can we change the color to solid on this bar around the button?

Check out my page and you can see

I don’t want to make the button a solid color, just the border

aestik

Hi Dantakesphotos,

you can change the border of the button by removing the border-left property by editing style.css in here:

.btn.btn-cta {
  border: 1px solid #ffffff;
  color: #ffffff;
  font-family: "Noto Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Sans;
  border-radius: 3px;
  border-left: 1px solid #319595; /*Remove this one*/
  padding: 0 10px;
  font-size: 14px;
  font-weight: 500;
  line-height: 30px;
  text-transform: uppercase;
}
remove this line : border-left: 1px solid #319595; you’ll have the solid border color. and if you wish to further edit the buttons. please refer to style.css see table of contents. there is section number 5. And css rules started with this comment block :
/*------------------------------------------------------------------
 [5. Button]
------------------------------------------------------------------*/

everything under that comment block is the styles for buttons.

Hope it helps.

Regards.

Is ghost 0.4 supported? I notice the live demo is down.

I just noticed the earlier comment from December that the preview wasn’t working then either. No replies from the author for 2 months so I guess this theme is dead?

aestik

Hi,

I’m sorry for our very late reply. Actually this theme is still active, we have a problem with our server, i guess we’ll move to a more powerfull server next week.

As for ghost 0.4, we’ll working on it in the week end. So, please check back again next week.
