You should use WP importer, it’s located in your Admin panel > Tools > Import, install it if necessary and use it to import XML file. It’s located in Subway Main Files > xml export folder.
I did that also and did not work.
Sorry, installing the DEMO worked, but the editing part doesn’t work. I think it is Visual Composer not working.

I purchased Subway a week ago and since then I am trying to fix the Visual Composer. It does not work. I tried different hostings, I tried uninstalling, deleting WC folders, placing WC folders from the theme zip, installing WC from the ZIP theme, etc. Nothing works. I submitted a few tickets also and I haven’t got a reply.
Please help, my theme is worthless without it.

We are currently working on an update which will include compatibility with the latest WooCommerce version, and it should be released in the near future.

1) Yes of course, we’re only shipping our theme bundled with this plugin, usage is as any other plugin, you can disable or delete it if you wish. Or, you don’t have to install it in the first place.
2) Yes, upgrade is on its way, hopefully it will be available publicly for download.

I want to know if it’s possible to install the complete demo. It’s more easy for me after. So what is the process to install the demo ? Do you have a documentation ?
Yes, demo content is available within XML file, which is regular WP import process. This way you can have whole demo copied on your instance. Here is snapshot from our documentation provided with the theme:
Open WP Admin Panel
Click on Tools > Import from left menu
Click on WordPress item in the list of importers
If the plug-in is not installed, click on Install Now button
Select XML file provided with our theme and upload it. It will take couple of minutes to install our theme (If your server is not able to upload the demo files with attachments, you should import it without attachments)
Click on Appearance > Menus from left menu
Chose “Main menu” in Top Navigation combo box
LayerSlider and Visual Composer will not install. I have tried both installing through the dashboard – then i get a message “Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.”
I have also tried uploading via FTP. This has not worked either.
Finally, I have lodged a private ticket three days on Ticksy but have not had a reply (I know it was the weekend but I was hoping for something by now!). Could I please get a reply to this issue? Cheers!

Hello, considering purchasing this theme and have a couple of questions. Are there options to add additional filter options in a sidebar? Also, option to select a custom theme color not shown in your demo and theme-wide customization (custom css/html) capable? Thanks!

Theme does have custom CSS and JS fields. Regarding sidebar, it’s widget area where you can use widgets, standard ones from basic WP installation or some third party.
The demo *.xml file is 2.7 mb, WP Import only allows 2 mb
We advise you to increase upload upload_max_filesize variable on your server, contact your hosting provider for further assistance.

Question: Will the plugins that this theme is dependent on (LayerSlider and Visual Composer) include the upgrades for those plugins? The current version (as of 9/29/15) of the theme includes LayerSlider v.5.4.0 and WPBakery Visual Composer 4.5.3.
LayerSlider is currently up to version 5.6.2 and WPBakery Visual Composer is up to version 4.7.3.
Will this theme provide the newest versions of these plugins or will we need to purchase these separately if we want to keep up with the newest versions?
As it stands, I’m being told to enter a license key for LayerSlider to receive updates. And to download the newest version of WPBakery Visual Composer from CodeCanyon. But I can’t do either of these things since they were included with the theme.
New plugin versions should be included in next theme upgrade.

Also, for what it’s worth, there are a few WooCommerce templates that are out of date in the theme. I updated them in my theme but hopefully you guys will too so it won’t be overwritten in the next update. (I noticed two: subway/woocommerce/single-product/tabs/tabs.php and subway/woocommerce/content-product.php.)

27 days have passed since I’ve asked about the updates. It starts to be an urgent issue. When can we expect the new version compatible with WP 4.3.1 and latest WooCommerce?

I noticed there have been many requests in the last 30 days asking about updates for this theme and no updates have been made. I purchased this theme under your advertisement of the product that it included a working version of Visual Composer and it is not fully operational as it states that it needs updated but I would have to pay for the full version of Visual Composer, which you say doesn’t work with your theme. Selling products under false pretenses is not ok. I need to create my site right away and not having this option with this theme that I purchased is hindering the process. How long are your customers going to have to wait for this update to come through and why can’t you provide a solid answer as to how quickly (an exact date) that it will be available? You’ve created a really nice product, but you need to make your updates a priority. We all would like an answer as to when the updates will be available. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
We understand you point of view. We can’t simply commit on any particular date, testings must be performed properly. There is always possibility of unexpected issues, and we don’t want to announce upgrade deadline and then to break it. Thanks for understanding.

One question as well, Layer slider update, do I do it like it’s suggested, so uninstall slider and install new? Or? Can’t find it in docs, please.
Everything should be fine if you follow the instructions in the support tab. However, if you do by chance come across some issue, please submit a ticket to our support forum at https://qode.ticksy.com/ and our support team will be glad to help you out.
Regarding LayerSlider, after you have updated the theme, just uninstall the LayerSlider and a notification will appear at the top of your screen that a required plugin needs to be installed. Install and activate the LayerSlider via this notification and you should get the latest compatible version of the plugin.
An update from the upgrading process.
1) Are you sure the new package is the right one, as in Qode Options it shows Version 1.7
2) Css Animations doesn’t seem to work
3) Checkout page doesn’t really work, as if you leave required fields it won’t show you the info on top what fields need to be filled to process.
Also shop functionality on your demo is not working so can’t even check if it works on your demo.
Here’s the development copy of the website for you to see the checkout page issue and on home page there’s an image under ‘FIND OUT MORE ABOUT J.F SPORTS’ heading, left from the tabs, which is not showing when CSS animation is used, only shows with animations disabled.

Looks like the checkout functionality breaks if email field is not filled, otherwise ajax works to check what other fields are missing, BUT all the fields with place-holders are treated as valid fields… while they should not?
Could you please submit a ticket to our support forum with a link to your site and temp wp-admin access so our support team can take a closer look at these issues and see what they can do to help.

Well, shop on your demo didn’t work few minutes ago, not it works, but it is being using OLD theme Version: 1.0.5 and old versions of everything else.
So, that doesn’t help at all guys…
You didn’t say if the latest download here is up-to-date, as I pointed out Options show Version 1.7 in it.

The latest download is up to date, you can check the right version of the theme by navigating to Appearance > Themes and clicking on Theme Details on the Subway theme. We will correct the version in the admin panel in our next update. Thanks for the note.
