Common WordPress Installation Issues

Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

I would like the Wide slider to extend the full width of my screen, however right now it’s only 1500 pixels wide. How do I increase it’s width?

By default, we’ve got the max width set at 1500 pixels (for load times and cropping reasons), giving the illusion of a full width slide for most visitors. However, you can change this by changing one number in the code.

Open the ‘theme-functions.php’ file located in the ‘framework’ folder. Now go to line 137 and look for this code:

add_image_size( 'slider-full-thumb', 1500, 615, true );

Notice the 1500 number in there? Just change that to whatever width you’d like. If you want it to be infinite, change it to 9999.

Once that’s done, you can re-upload the photo you’re trying to use and Wordpress will scale and crop it per the width you enter.

Is there an easy way to change the slide order?

You bet. You just change the date/time that it was published. By default, Wordpress displays post types in the order that they were published.

You can do this on the Sliders page, then choose Quick Edit for the slide you’d like to change, then alter the Date then click the blue Update button.
