Nice theme !!! is it possible to code the parallax images not not display on mobile ?

designthemes

Yes, it is possible!!

In your responsive stylesheet ( wp-content/themes/super/responsive.css), kindly add a style for the parallax section and add a rule ” { background-image:none !important; }” as shown below.

For Example:

.fullwidth-section.dark-bg { background-image: none !important; }

Let us know, if you find any difficulties!!

Default-user

thank you ,that worked

designthemes

I have an issue with parallax image not moving on chrome when viewed on both mac book pro and imac, working well in mozilla and safari though, also have an issue with the font awesome icons not displaying on a nokia lumia 900 windows phone, instead a blue rectangle displays, displaying correctly on iPhone4 and htc

designthemes

Hi.,

Thanks for letting us know about the parallax issue,

1) We are also facing this issue, we will fix it in our next updates.

2) We have checked the font-awesome site ( http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/ ) in “Nokia Lumia” and the font are not loading properly only boxes are appearing.

It seems that the problem is in Lumia Os, Kindly try to check the given site in another browser (Not in Lumia inbuilt browser). We have also checked the other Themeforest sites all are having the same problem.

Kindly refer the screenshot below:

Hi,

Visual composer ask me another time to update. I’ve also purchase it (and made a mistake that i haven’t to purchase it, I understand after made this mistake).

How can I update it please ?

many thanks

designthemes

Hi., Visual Composer is an external plugin, and you need to check with the plugin author for updating it. Please contact their support team.

Default-user

Hi, I know that it’s an external plugin, but I’ve purchased your theme, and I don’t understand why I can’t update automatically this plugin and have to pay each time. This is the first I see this practice…

designthemes

Hi., Thanks for your patience anyway!!

But we can’t check the code of Visual Composer for updating it. You need to contact the support team of Visual Composer for updating the plugin.

To our knowledge you don’t need to pay again for updating the plugin.

Your projects is beautiful but you have a negative point int it, all does not have support for RTL languages style . I think if you do this point you will get 5 stars and more purchasing to your themes . i hope you do that since the beautiful work need a beautiful support .

designthemes

Hi., Thank you for your suggestion. We will consider adding the RTL support in our future versions.

Hi there, we were asked to make it so that the scroll bar is always visible and make it a bit wider. We’ve been able to manipulate the CSS using Firebug but not sure what file or what files to edit to make it stick. Right now it is saying that all of the changes are ‘inline’. If you would be so kind to direct us to the right files that would be great!

designthemes

Hi., Kindly help us to confirm that you were actually purchased our theme by getting back to us with the purchase code or send us an email via our profile page http://themeforest.net/user/designthemes (right bottom form).

So that, we can check and have a clear look on our end.

Hi!.,

Your admin details not working. Send us the correct admin and also the ftp details.

1) I wanted to know how/where to edit the CSS to have the scroll bar show at all times and implement some color/width choices. – Which scroll bar you are asking for? Send some screenshots.

2) There has been some issues as far as upload time while in the back-end as well as the way the blog archives is set up (category/permalink weirdness). – Let us know the exact issue

3) Last thing that I didn’t mention was how I would go about making the page title in our Shop template actually read ‘shop’ instead of ‘Archive’ – Which page you see this issue. Send us the correct link or screenshot.

Hello again, I noticed that when logged into the Wordpress Dashboard the title in the browser bar reads ‘shop’. We are having some speed/loading issues while logged into the back-end and editing pages/content and wanted to ask if you guys can take a look because I know it shouldn’t be reading that; aka; A bug. Please let me know if that is possible and what email address we should send you login info to – outside of this forum, of course. Thank you very much.

Why in some computer, items on portfolio page are not clickable?

designthemes

Hi.,

Let us know in which computers you are getting those issue, So that we can help you better.

Default-user

designthemes

Hi.,

We checked your site in chrome browser and the portfolio items are clickable in it.

Please note that only the portfolio title and the 2 small icons next to that are clickable and the image is not clickable.

Default-user

Yeah I know! It works fine in my home computer, my laptop, and elsewhere. But just in my office computer..

Hm… Guess I need to try re-install my Google Chrome there and we’ll see what happens :)

I’m using this theme with a child theme and the style.css from the child theme is being superseded by a style from the parent theme’s skins (which is being loaded after the child-theme’s style.css). I’ve examined the header.php file but can’t seem to change the order in which the style sheets load..

Here’s the entire style.css from the child theme:

/* Theme Name: Eyeglass Universe Description: Custom theme for the Eyeglass Universe blog. A 'child' theme of the Super theme. Author: Eric Brockway Author URI: http://brukenet.com Version: 1.0.0 Text Domain: super-child Template: super */ @import url("../super/style.css"); /* =Theme customization starts here -------------------------------------------------------------- */ #footer .copyright { background-color: #594118; }

Here is the relevant output I see in Firebug:

<link id="super-default-css" media="all" type="text/css" href="http://eyeglassuniverse.com/eyeglassublog/wp-content/themes/egu/style.css?ver=3.9.1" rel="stylesheet"> <link id="skin-css" media="all" type="text/css" href="http://eyeglassuniverse.com/eyeglassublog/wp-content/themes/super/skins/chillipepper/style.css?ver=3.9.1" rel="stylesheet">

The desired result would be for the background-color given in the child theme’s style.css to appear in the live site but instead the background color from line 12 of the skin’s style.css is appearing instead. How do I get the load order changed so that the child theme’s style sheet prevails?

It’s not possible for me to provide you with any credentials to access the site; my client feels that this is not an acceptable position (as he makes clear in his own comment, directly below mine).

Our position is fairly simple – Your theme should follow the standards set down in the Wordpress Codex. Relevant quotes, from http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes, include:

• “A child theme is the safest and easiest way to modify an existing theme” • “Instead of modifying the theme files directly, you can create a child theme and override within” • “With a child theme, you can update the parent theme (which might be important for security or functionality) and still keep your changes” • “In the child theme directory, create a file called style.css. This is the only file required to make a child theme” • “Note: The child theme’s stylesheet is included after the parent theme’s and styles will therefore override those in the parent theme’s stylesheet”

Our problem here is that the last point, that the child theme’s stylesheet is included after the parent themes and styles, isn’t happening. The theme loads in a “skin” stylesheet after loading the child-theme’s stylesheet and therefore this “skin” stylesheet is overriding the child theme.

I’ve even gone so far as to add a custom header.php file to the child-theme, in which I’ve played around with several variations of the code. Whatever is happening is adding in the stylesheet from the parent-theme’s “skins” directory from another file besides the header.php file. If you can just identify the file and/or let me know which function is dynamically calling your theme’s stylesheets, I can fix this despite not being able to allow WP & FTP access to you.

designthemes

Hi.,

If you try to change the order of the stlyesheet, then it may cause some other issue. You can fix it by adding ”!important” at the end of the css property, like shown below, so that the skin stylesheet will be overridden. We tried the below method and the skin stylesheet gets overridden.

footer .copyright { background-color: #594118 !important; }

Else try the attached stylesheet file in the childtheme css.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/hof07hreyz21ir9/style.css
brukenet

Thanks for your prompt reply. I am aware of how to use !important to over-ride the normal flow of css and have used it in debugging many times. However, the example I cited (in which only one css rule was changed) is just that – an example. We plan to make a few hundred minor css rule changes and it’s just not good code to have a stylesheet with 200 or 300 rules that are all set to !important. I’m not alone in my belief that over-use of the !important declaration is bad; here’s just a few top Google results that agree with my position:

“I highly recommend that !important declarations never be used.” (c.f. http://www.impressivewebs.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-important-css-declaration/)

"!important declarations should not be used unless they are absolutely necessary after all other avenues have been exhausted." (c.f. http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2010/11/02/the-important-css-declaration-how-and-when-to-use-it/)

“Using !important should only be in specific no-other-way cases. It is not intended to be applied to a whole stylesheet document.” (c.f. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7640847/is-there-a-shortcut-for-setting-important-on-every-property-in-a-css-file)

I need a way to have the child-theme's style sheet load last, as it should according to the Wordpress Codex. I can't use a solution that's meant for a one-off temporary work-around in production code.
designthemes

Hi!.,

To make the child theme stylesheet load last, you can change the order from wp-content/themes/super/framework/utils.php , line no 713 inside the function dttheme_load_basic_css().

Please check the attached screenshot.

Thanks, that is exactly the solution that I was looking for! I’ve tested the new solution and it works perfectly. Thank you very much!

I am the purchaser of your product and owner of the site attempting to utilize your theme. I am going to incorporate the contents of the attempts made by my developer here to obtain your assistance in solving a design dilemma posed by your design choices in coding your Super theme.

The functionality issue is inherent in your choice of design strategies. Your insistence on FTP access to the site cannot be accomplished due to security concerns and due to prudent management practices. I have neither a confidentiality agreement or services agreement with your firm and I do not consider it a good business or software development practice to provide administrative access for an installed operation when the problem has been so clearly laid out for you by the developer who is both entrusted with the site security and hosting, but also the result of the final product. I mean to hold him responsible for his work but I would lack this in giving you administrative access. We are attempting to design to a “best practices” standard and the choice to use your theme has become problematic because the theme does not appear to permit the use of child themes in the way anticipated by the WP developers. We are offering to do the work and heavy lifting on the code to solve this issue but need your assistance as outlined in the first copied text above gives you the detail to assist us easily if you choose. If you are incapable or unwilling to provide a satisfactory answer so that my hired developer can sufficiently correct the departure from the best WP practices taken by your theme, then I believe it is best that others be made aware of this exception to standard conventions you have taken so that prospective purchases may consider the cost to them for using your design them as a starting point for their projects. Well executed design code should not significantly depart from WP design standards. So, if you cannot or are unwilling to assist us solve this design issue I will report the design flaw to Envato for the rest of the community to observe and consider prior to purchasing one of your themes. I wish you no harm but cannot stand by and leave such a glaring deficiency stand without notification so I am hoping you will reconsider and provide my developer the needed guidance to accomplish the child theme overlay to your theme with the least amount of acrimony as possible. Thank you for your additional consideration.
