Just wanted to say my main image is now responsive but the other issue remains.

My GIFs won’t appear in lightbox. They are working and displaying well in posts and as thumbnails but when I open them in lightbox the screen is black.

You can check my answer to your previous comment, but also check if it is not caused by some non Osaka plugin – you can check this by deactivation all the non Osaka plugins in section “Plugins” – if you use any. I think the GIF images should display properly in lightbox if you use “DC NGG Recent Images” widget.

Thank you that works, although I would still like to figure out why the lightbox display is not working with the other NGG widgets (I deactivated all plugins and that didn’t work).

But I do have a question relating to DC NGG Recent Images widget….is it possible to add a title to the thumbs? Also, once it opens in lightbox is there a way to link the image to the post? Add social media buttons to the lightbox pop up?

Hello,

As for the NGG plugin widget (not the Osaka widget) – looks like it uses its own lightbox, so I think that’s might be the problem. Maybe this plugin lightbox doesn’t allows to display GIF images for some reason.

In regards to DC NGG Recent Images widget, I think it would be possible to add title and buttons, but only with some modification in the code – however this would need some development and I don’t have a ready solution.

1. No, there is no option for this. It is possible only with some modification in the PHP code.

2. I don’t have any specific date, but it should be available in a week or two.

3. Yes, I think the custom CSS option will be included in this next update.

Thank you! These warning are related to missing excerpts for posts displayed on this page. Looks like you didn’t defined any excerpts for these posts. You can just add excerpts for posts (in Excerpt field) and this will fix the warnings. If the excerpt field is nit displayed by default at the bottom when you edit a page – first go to the top and select “Excerpt” in Screen Options.

I am trying to activate this theme on a fresh install of wordpress 3.5.1 by uploading the theme folder and then activating it through admin but it is causing an internal 500 server error. Unfortunately the details of this aren’t showing in the log – is it compatible with 3.5.1 and do you have any thoughts on what the problem may be

Hello,

Yes, the theme is fully compatible with WP 3.5.1, so it is not the problem of WP version. Looks like it is something with the server settings or maybe some conflict. Or maybe you did something wrong in the installation process. Did you uploaded only the “Osaka” folder (from the “theme” folder in the ZIP) into the wp-content/themes/ folder? Is this an installation on some web host or on localhost?

Hi it is on a host I installed it successfully on a test site a few weeks back but now want to install it on the actual site and have done exactly the same process – unzipped the whole file locally and then uploaded the osaka file but when i go to activate it it causes an internal server error exactly the same environment except on the istallation that works it was being installed in a sub folder of a dev server rather than in the root folder of some space for a specific domain

Hello,

I just looked back in the comments and I see you had some similar problem 2 months ago and it related to OAuth.php.

If this is the reason, you should be able to got round the problem by commenting the declaration out of OAuth.php file. Looks like there is something else on your server declaring that class already, like some non Osaka plugin, maybe a community plugin or Twitter plugin or other theme.

In functions.php inside the theme you can delete or comment this line and check if this helps:

require_once(CMS_TEMPLATEPATH . '/cms/lib/twitteroauth/twitteroauth.php');

I think this might help.

Hello,

Looks like there are some tags in the content that change the text to bold. You can check if in posts content you have the opening and closing tag for bold font, and also if it is not split in the excerpt. Maybe in the excerpt only the opening strong tag is included.

Looks like it is not related with the theme. Is this a fresh WP installation or some old existing one? Do you use the latest version of WordPress?

Form what I searched, it might be something related to non Osaka plugin. If you use any, you can deactivate all the non Osaka plugins and check if this helps, then you can bring them back one by one to check which one is causing the problem. Or if it is something else related to this WP installation, you can also try to make a completely fresh WP installation and check if you will still have this problem.

if i have to make a completely fresh WP installation, what about the content? will it be replace or gone?

You can export / import the content for the new installation. In Superior Osaka you can also export / import the CMS settings and Pro Menu Settings separately, so you can almost completely move the site to a new destination (only sidebars content will have to be recreated manually and you might need to adjust some ID settings in the new WP installation). But, I think you should first check if it is not related to some non Osaka plugin and this might help.

Did you created a completely new page and reproduced it and you still have this problem? Maybe you used the same page and didn’t created a new one? I am not sure how this problem exactly looks on your side, but it might be also caused by some no Osaka plugin. If you use any non Osaka plugins, you can try to deactivate all the non Osaka plugins and then check if this helps. After this you can bring them back one by one to find our which one is causing the problem.

Yes, you can also use contact form in our Theme Forest profile to contact us via email to send us any additional information.

Hi there – yes I completely created a new page from scratch. I have now done this several times. There is no particular element in the content builder that triggers it but it appears that after a certain amount of content is entered into the page that it happens.

Is there a limit to the amount of content that can sit on one page?

I’ve deleted the unnecessary, non-osaka plugins and this still is a problem.

We are about to launch an event through our site where we’ll be receiving high levels of traffic so really need to sort this out asap.

At the moment I can’t edit / update the pages in question.

Your help on this would be much appreciated.

No, there is no limit and we tested the theme with small and large amount of content. But, did you tested this by deactivating all the non theme plugins? We can also take a look on this if you can send us access via contact form, because I am not sure how this look on your site.

Thank you for your purchase and interest. As for the multilingual site, there is no option for this in the theme currently and we also didn’t tested the theme with WPML, but I think the plugin won’t work for the Pro Menu system without some adjustments, maybe it will work if you use only WordPress menu option.

From what we looked it might need a bigger modification, so I can’t promise this at this stage, but we will try to check this more later and maybe we will be able to add WPML support in one of the future updates.

a) For this open cp_customposts.php file located in cms/php/ folder and at lines 24 and 29 inside the DCC_ControlPanelCustomPosts class, you will find these lines:

I want to change the custom post – MEMBERS to SPEAKERS . Are you able to show me what I need to replace? Do I just replace where the word – MEMBERS in the whole cp_customposts.php page? Is it easier to create a new custom post? It will be ideal if there is an easy way to change the custom post. For e.g I want PRODUCTS instead of SERVICES.

If you ask only about the slug name in the path, then you can do this with this instruction for members:

For this open cp_customposts.php file located in cms/php/ folder and at line 34 inside the DCC_ControlPanelCustomPosts class, you will find this line:

If you want to change also the name of the member post in the WP admin, then it is possible to change in in cp_customposts.php file like you mentioned but you need to do this only in some places – ONLY strings in function createMemberTaxonomy and only post slug and category slug defined at the top. Don’t change these two lines at the top:

const PT_MEMBER_POST = 'dc_member';
const PT_MEMBER_CATEGORY = 'dc_member_category';

This should help.

Hello,

You must have option “Enable authorization for contact form” enabled in section Osaka > General > Theme Core > Basic Settings. Then, in Contact Form Creator you add a new “Text” control item for you form and you need to select option “Display as authorization field” for this item.

Hello I purchased ur theme. looks good! But i think i found a bug. when i click “Align menu to right” on a submenu of “Features” (in the main menu) it doesn’t align. While in other, regular ,”NOT Mega menu” , everything is aligned right fine. When i look in the html code i see u put class “opt-align-right” unlike Mega menu it doesn’t exist. Hello,

You need to select “Align to right” option for the top item. For Mega Menu the option is located in other section – not in sub-menu.

If you want for example the Mega Menu “Features” align to the right you need to open the settings for Features item and in section General > Mega Menu Settings select option “Align to right”.

Hello, I’ve purchased this item and I’m happy with the results. HOWEVER, I’d like to know how to show only blog excepts on the main blog page. My blog page shows the full post which is bad for SEO as the full post is being duplicated on both the individual post page AND my main blog page. Is there any way around this using your theme? I have a problem with the content builder and clearing divs. I am using the full width homepage. On part of the page I have a 1/3 test , 1/3 text and 1/3 sidebar. The segment below I have a 2/3 blog. Problem is that the blog always starts after the end of the sidebar. I can’t seem to get the float and clear settings right so that it aligns properly where the blog excerpts continue after the text segments with the sidebar continuing on the right. Thanks!

I just tested this kind of combination of segments and you just need to use float option for 1/3 sidebar segment – for this segment set float to “right” and that’s all. So all these other 3 segments have float “left” (default) and all 4 segments have default clear set to “none” (also default).

We didn’t tested it, but from the reports I know that one or two clients used this slider with the theme with success, so I think it is compatible but if you want to place it in the Content Builder you need to use Text segment.

I think you write about the warning that comes with the missing excerpt for post. You can just add excerpt for these posts (with no excerpts) to resolve this. The problem comes from PHP changes in version 5.4, where an additional parameter was added to function strstr that is used in Osaka code. With an update we will try to add some other solution for this, so the warning won’t be displayed even if you don’t have an excerpt defined. I think the other solution is to make an update to PHP 5.4 on server if possible.

Yeah, but that’s not really a solution. What you’re saying is that I now have to write excerpts for every piece of content on my site. We’re talking 100 plus pages. I don’t have to do this for other themes… only this one. The solution to this is NOT having me do 100 manual content changes.

Guys, just another quick question. How do I change the default text colour for body text. It’s set to a default grey colour. I can’t find an option anywhere to change it site wide.

Hello,

For this there is no option in the theme, but you can do this with simple change in CSS code. In common.css or common_hires.css located in “css” folder (depends which mode you use in Osaka > General > Theme Core section) you need to change the color value that is at the top in the body CSS. For some other theme parts and features like sidebar or footer, you might need to make additional color CSS changes if needed.

At this moment there is no custom CSS option – it will be added with an update. You can do this now with a child theme or just add the new code into the CSS file located in “css” folder, but in this last solution you will need to move this code for the new file after update.
