Sorry Chris one other question – can you restrict posts via Groups or other membership plugins. Even password protect using default wordpress settings would be sufficient.
Yes that’s correct, SupportDesk doesn’t support the video post format like KnowHow does, but it still allows standard video integration in posts.
You shouldn’t have any issues using membership plugins to restrict article etc
Hi Chris, is there anyway to display a specific part of the post’s the_content while searching the knowledge Base?
It already show the excerpt but if the text is too long the words that I am searching does not appear. Is there anyway to do that?
As far as I know there isn’t any way to do this without modifying the WP search engine significantly. Maybe search the WordPress.org plugin repository for something that might work for you.

I love this theme but I notice that the live search on the home page doesn’t search through the forum posts. Is it possible to have it search through and display results from both areas of the site?
I’m trying to decide between buying this and TeamTalk for my next site and this info would really help!
It’s not a default feature of the theme for the search to do this, although it is possible to tweak the function in the theme files if you know what you’re doing.

If you’re familar with PHP & WordPress functions it’s pretty simple, otherwise I would recommend hiring a freelancer to help you.
Does it support buddypress
There’s no native theme support, but BuddyPress will work with most themes out of the box.
I installed the theme and then tried to install the demo XML. There were no instructions on how to do that so I went to Tools > Import and installed the WordPress installer plugin. I then uploaded the file and while a bunch of stuff installed I did get these errors

So did I do somthing wrong? And what are those items that I am missing?
This is because the demo XML contains demo data from BBPress. If you don’t have BBPress installed and activated when you import the XML them it will fail to import that data.

the use of “Knowledge Base” right above the search box and in the bread crumb seems to be hard coded somewhere but I can’t find it. Where can I edit those pieces of text?
It should be in the language file, the text is taken from the name of the Knowledge Base custom post type name. If it’s still not there, please open a support request and I’ll take a look into it for you.
Sorry for the stupid question but what’s the difference between KNOWLEDGE BASE and FAQ PAGES?
FAQ pages are simple a list of questions/answers whereas the Knowledge Base is a categorized repository of articles.
Can you tell me if its possible to add a “This post was usefull” Yes or No vote button at the end of the knowledge base posts or forum topics?

A support ticket system isn’t something I’m looking at adding as this theme is focused on community support (forums).
I have a question: if I install this theme to a subdomain (www.forum.mywebsite.com) could be possible for registered users of the main website to interact with the Forum (adding new topics, comments etc.) without needing to re-login?
It depends on your setup, if you’re using a WP Multisite Setup etc

I purchased the theme and I came accross an issue with bbPress and searching within the forums in the theme. I posted a support question yesterday but I haven’t heard back. I am wondering when I will receive a reply/solution. This is not clear at all. I really need to have this fixed today.

On the demo page someone had disrupted the layout using HTML in their post. This issue is fixed.
You’d need to use a plugin for the Facebook login or DISQS comments.
The theme is SEO Optimzed so there’s no reason why it shouldn’t rank well

Hi I am interested in using this theme along with another website that would include a login/registration option. I was wondering if I could somehow connect the login/registration to my other site (it is Wordpress) so users would only need one account for both websites. Is this possible?
