Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

How to change hover colors?

If you are using an early version of Symple, prior to 1.4, you can change these colors in the css style.css. However, if you are using 1.4 or later, there is an option in the Theme Options that will allow this to be changed. Go to Appearance > Theme Options > Style > General Accent Colors. You can change the hover/link colors there :)

How do I find the locations/coordinates of the jQuery map?

This could be easier for the user, but I’m currently working on the usability for determining coordinates. However, as it exists now, you have to do some trial and error. The coordinates start at the top left corner at 0,0. It works on an x,y axis – so moving left to right, top to bottom you can adjust where the pins go.

Adding areas to the map?

The map options are found in the Theme Options area. They can be added to, but it does require some file editing – and editing the theme-options.php file can be risky, so I wouldn’t recommend it. If you want additional areas added, please contact me. Unfortunately, it will be an extra service to add items, and therefore incur a small fee.

See an issue with navigation or the parallax slider doesn’t seem to be behaving correctly?

Make sure you’ve got the latest version – 1.5.2. Some new goodies were added and it messed with the Parallax slider, but it’s all fixed up and ready to roll.
