Hello, love the design, but I would hopelessly need to have the portfolio categories filtered as in most of your other themes. Since I suppose this function is not available natively, is it possible to have it implemented for a fee for example? Thanks a lot.

Default-user

Sorry, let me rephrase the question: how long do you think it would take to implement the filtering, as it is for example seen in your Yin & Yang theme? Thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you love the design of the theme! Thank you for taking Tao into consideration!

As far as your question goes, it all really depends on the developer’s level of skill. A skilful developer who already has experience with implementing Isotope in WordPress themes, should be able to complete this task within an hour or two, while someone who hasn’t got that experience could take a whole day, under the condition that both developers are well-versed in web design/development in relation to WordPress in particular.

By the way, I am not sure if you are aware of this, but I just want to let you know that you can separate your portfolio by default in the Tao theme, by putting the categories in the menu. However, if you absolutely need filtering on the same page, with an animation, then it’s best for you to hire a freelancer, who will implement Isotope for you.

Have fun working with the Tao theme, if you end up buying it! :)

Sincerely,

Hello, Great looking theme! Is it possible to change the proportions for the image previews in the grid on the home page? For example, I’m offering a book design service and I’d like to have a more vertically proportioned preview.

Thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you find the theme great-looking! Thanks for taking an interest in it!

As far as your question goes, you can certainly change the proportions (height) of thumbnails, to make them display in portrait mode, rather than “square” mode. It would only take a few lines of code customization — easy peasy for a developer.

Enjoy working with the theme, if you end up buying it! :)

Hi! I’ve just purchased the theme and I’ve been test-driving it a bit. I’m looking to make one main change, the 3D page distortion when you show the menu. I’d like it if the page simply slid right, instead of sliding right and compressing on the top and bottom. I’m assuming doing this is possible in style.css, probably in this section:
.menu-container {
        width: 260px;
        height: 100%;
        position: fixed;
        display: block;
        opacity: 0;
        z-index: 1;
        transform-origin: 0% 50%;
        transform: translateX(-260px) rotateY(-30deg);
        transition: all 0.5s cubic-bezier(0.785, 0.135, 0.15, 0.86);

        padding: 20px;
        overflow: auto;

        background-color: #0C0C0C;
        background-image: url("images/dark_wall.png");

        color: #eee;
        z-index: 100 !important; /* override the z-index declaration given in the meny script */
    }
        .css3d .menu-container {
            transform: translateX(0px) rotateY(0deg);
        }
Is this an easy thing to do?

Hello guys, Last year I bought your theme Ying & Yang. This theme is compatible with the theme TAO? or will I have to reset every page of the portfolio?

thanks

onioneye

Hi there,

thank you for purchasing Yin & Yang in the past, and for taking an interest in the Tao theme!

As far as your question goes, your portfolio content will be perfectly preserved, but you will have to reselect your already uploaded images (logo and the portfolio images). However, that shouldn’t be a big problem, as selecting the images in the new theme is as easy as ever!

Have fun working with Tao, if you end up buying it! :)

Beautiful design. Does the portfolio section support video upload?

Disregard my stupid question….I should have looked a little closer. I will likely purchase this theme. Nice work.

I like this new theme. Great Job. A few questions before I jump in. Can I center the logo on the main page? Can I add a repeating 8 pixel background image? How much control do I have on typefaces? Can I use a google typeface or a free web-typeface? How much color control would I have? Also can I turn off the logo wiggle?

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you like the Tao theme! Thank you for taking it into consideration!

To answer your questions:

1) Yes, you can certainly do it with a few lines of CSS code modification.

2) A background image would require just a single line of CSS code mod.

3, 4) You can easily change the theme’s fonts, either completely manually, by changing them in the main stylesheet (style.css file), or by using a plugin, like WP Google Fonts (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-google-fonts/), which lets you embed hundreds of different fonts from the google webfonts repository. It does almost everything for you, but some further, very minor adjustments to the CSS of the theme might be needed to get everything like you want it to be.

5) You can change the color of the text to any other color you please, by going through the main stylesheet and changing the “color” properties.

6) The code for turning off the logo wiggle is available here: http://onioneye.ticksy.com/ticket/118288/.

By the way, please have in mind that basic CSS knowledge is required for the tasks above. If you do not have any experience with CSS whatsoever, you can always hire a freelancer to quickly customize the theme for you, if you are still keen on buying it.

Good luck whatever you decide to do, and have a happy festive season! :)

Hello,

How to animate the contact button on your theme as Yin & Yang. For my site, the “contact” button is very important to me.

I had left a message on your private forum, but I do not see that track ! But I found the solution.

sincerely, Karl

Hello,

The problem of your forum is when a message is placed, there is no acknowledgment. So there is not if you have received our message. I’ve had these problems with others.

Thank you for your answer, this is a very beautiful theme congratulation!

Also spend good holidays.

onioneye

Hi Karl,

sorry about that. I, like many other ThemeForest authors, am using a third-party service called Ticksy, for handling my support requests, and although it has some shortcomings, I still find it very good. If you want to let the owner of Ticksy know about the issue you are experiencing, then please feel to open a support ticket over here: http://support.ticksy.com/

By the way, thank you for your wonderful compliment about the theme! :)

Hey OnionEye, great Theme!

I am considering to purchase it but I have a question in advance: Is it possible to define all images of a portfolio detail page (like http://onioneyethemes.com/tao/portfolio/127/) as a clickthrough lightbox gallery?

I want to start by clicking on a single image of i.e. 5 spread on a detail page and then I want all images on that page to be part of the appearing lightbox as a gallery. Just found examples where the initial state of the gallery lightbox is a rastered gallery (like http://onioneyethemes.com/tao/portfolio/vps-2/).

Thanks in advance — Cheers

Meik

onioneye

Hi Meik,

glad you find the theme great! Thank you for taking an interest in it!

As far as your questions go, this is unfortunately not possible out of the box with the lightbox, but it should be with a bit of customization work. This shouldn’t be a hard task at all for a developer, so you might consider hiring one, if you are still interested in the theme.

I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide to do! :)

Hi there,

i just bought the very beautiful WP Theme, and i’m happy.

One question: How can i have some Text on the Portfolio-Page on top of the thumbs, like on the Demo Website:

“Award winning digital agency. We bring a personal and effective approach to every project we work on, which is why our clients love us and value us highly.”

Thank You for Your help.

Kind Regards

Hey,

Love the theme, really well put together and nicely coded. Also had a few tweaks to make on the themes styling and function and was delighted to find the code was neat and well annotated!

One small thing though, the swipe menu appears not to work on Android devices (Nexus 5 but will check on others in work tomorrow). I have very little experience using hammer but just wondered if you were aware of this and if so any progress on fixing? I was going to take a look but don’t have much time to spend!

Not a major problem as it still functions fantastically regardless though. Keep up the good work!

Joe

Default-user

Hello again,

For what its worth after having a tweak of some settings using the hammer drag gesture rather than swipe gets better results (at least on Android) so I’ve used the following:

Hammer('body, html, .contents', {
    drag_min_distance:1,
    swipe_velocity:0.1
}).on('dragleft', function() {
    closeMenu();
});

Hammer('.contents, body', {
    drag_min_distance:1,
    swipe_velocity:0.1
}).on('dragright', function() {
    openMenu();
});
Needs more testing but seems to work well so far.

Hope it helps! Again love the theme sorry for spamming :p

glad you love the theme so much! Thank you for your purchase, and for sharing your solution for android devices! I appreciate it very, very much :)

However, this section is only used for pre-purchase questions, so I would appreciate it if you could direct your issues to http://onioneye.ticksy.com/, the official support forum for my themes.

By the way, please let me know if the issue happens on menu icon tap as well.

Hello OnionEye.

I am looking to purchase this theme. I have two questions.

1. Currently in your demo, the first home page is a gallery. Can we make it a custom page instead?

2. When we click on a portfolio item, can we make it go to a page with a Royal Slider Gallery (WP Edition)?

Thanks! Henry

onioneye

Hi Henry,

the answers I gave in the Peak theme’s comments thread is the same for this theme as well, but I will include them here for your convenience:

1) Most certainly. You can have any page as your homepage.

2) That is a premium plugin, so I have no means of testing it on my local development server, without purchasing it first, but I don’t see any reason at all why the given slider wouldn’t work with either of the themes. In the worst case scenario, I imagine it would require some minor styling (CSS) changes, to make it fit in flawlessly with the themes, but I honestly don’t believe it should come to that.

Have fun working with either Peak or Tao, if you end up buying one of them! :)

Sincerely,

Hi,

is there any way to sort the portfolio items. Apparently, items are not sorted per data or alfabetical order.

We need to set up an order.

Thanks

I am interested in the theme and had a couple questions :

> in testing the demo on an iPad 4, we noticed the left side nav has a bug. which prevents it from working much (but not all of the time). basically when you click to expand the nav, before you can click any of the menu items, “contact” is automatically selected. if you try again, as soon as you click to expand the nav, the menu collapses on its own and the “contact” page just gets refreshed, preventing users from being able to select any menu items. it does not happen 100% of the time. my question : is this a problem that might get fixed? what typically is the process and turnaround for reporting / getting bugs addressed?

> is it possible to use any or all of the project page design layouts in the context of the blog? i.e. can the demo project stacked image or big gallery layouts for example be used when creating a blog post?

> the “next” and “previous” project links are at the top of the pages, above the content (which looks and works great) whereas the “next” and “previous” blog post links are at the bottom of the page buried below the content AND all comments. is there a theme option to move the blog “next” and “prev” links to the top of the page above all content as in projects or at the bottom of post content ABOVE comments?

onioneye

Hi there,

thank you for taking an interest in the theme!

To answer your questions:

1) This must be something caused either by the latest iOS update or by the update to the theme. Can you please tell me which iOS version you are running on your device, and which browser you are utilising to access the Tao theme?

The bugs after the purchase of the theme are reported on the forum, found at http://onioneye.ticksy.com/. I take those reports very seriously, so if the bug is in fact found to be caused by the theme itself, then I move to remedy it as quick as possible – usually within a 10-day period, depending on the complexity of the bug. However, to be fully honest, that process could take double the given amount of time at this moment because I am away on a business trip to England for a few weeks.

2) Yes, all of the project page design layouts can be used on the blog as well.

3) There isn’t a built-in option for that, but you should be able to easily move the pager links by moving their code to other sections of the blog post template. It’s as easy as that.

Hope this answers your questions!

Sincerely,

OnionEye

ipad 4, ios 7.1, safari. let me know if you’d like me to take a video to show you the behavior. unfortunately makes the theme unusable on an ipad so we’ll have to hold off purchasing until resolved. i have not tested on an android tablet, but can.

onioneye

Hi there,

thank you, but there is no need for a video because I can confirm that this is happening in the latest version of iOS. Due to the nature of the behavior, I am guessing that it is a bug with iOS 7, but it would be nice if you could check it on an Android tablet as well, and tell me what you find. I am pretty sure it should work there though.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

OnionEye

checking on a motorola xoom tablet, android 4.1.2, in chrome, left nav seems to work ok. but there are other bugs, like none of the home page images load.

do you anticipate being able to resolve the iOS issue?

onioneye

Hmmm, that’s odd. Thank you for checking it!

Regarding the iOS issue, I certainly expect to solve it, but I just can not promise anything at the moment, given my current circumstances. The thing is, I am about to release a new theme this week, or the next one (it’s already submitted for the first review), and I am also still in England, so I am very busy at the moment, as you can imagine. I would like to re-emphasize though that I take these issues very seriously, so I expect to have this solved – I would say it’s only a matter of time.

Before buying Tao, maybe you should check the new theme as well, to see if it fits your needs.

Thank you for your understanding, and for all of your wonderful help! I truly appreciate it! :)

hi! great look, but is it wpml ready? thx in advance zoli

onioneye

Hi Zoli,

glad you find the theme great! Thank you for taking it into consideration!

As far as your question goes, the WPML WordPress plugin is a premium plugin, so I unfortunately don’t have access to it, in order to tell if it is fully compatible with the Tao theme, or not. However, I do not find a single reason why it wouldn’t be, so I guess it is safe to presume it is.

Have fun working with the theme, if you end up buying! :)
