Hi I did the upload of theme, but when I activate the theme from wp appear this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/content/a/n/t/antoinebrechu/html/wp-content/themes/the_cotton_v1.1/lib/classes/pexeto-custom-data-manager.php on line 98
Can you help me please.
This error sounds like your server is running an old version of PHP – you would have to contact the server support and ask them to upgrade the PHP (PHP 5 is the minimal requirement for the theme). Just to let you know that even the next version of WordPress won’t support older versions of PHP (PHP 4), so soon or later the upgrade should be done.

The Cotton theme looks great!
I’ve purchased it, but having problems uploading it via WP theme install. The error I get is:
The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/yogamoodra.com/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/06.
Can you please help me with this?
First of all – thanks, I’m glad you like the theme
Can you please refer to the documentation to the “Activating the theme” section and make sure that you have uploaded the theme according to the instructions explained in there? We have also included links to installation videos that may be helpful as well.
If you still have any questions, I would like to ask you to use our support forum:
I bought your great, great, great theme. I’m not very experienced in WP…and your detailed work makes it easy. So thumbs up!
I’m using your theme for a e-commerce-project and I need a cool looking “Log-In/Sign-In” function.
For this, I bought also the theme “Columbia Corporate” (http://themeforest.net/item/columbia-corporate-theme-with-showcase-wp/full_screen_preview/140905). But because I’m not so experienced, I don’t know, how to implement this “option” into your theme.
Can you please support me to get a fantastic website?
Thanks a lot and a happy weekend.

How easy this theme could be translated ?
Yes, you can easily translate the theme – for a single language we have included a “Translation” section in which you can change all the words used within the theme. For multiple languages we have included a .po file that you can use with a multi-language plugin
Thank you very much… Looks great. Do you have shortcode for tables ?
Great theme! I’m just getting started with it.
1) How can we increase the width of the menu so that it does not get bumped to the second line? See http://overflowgraphics.com/ for example.
2) A user asked if we could have a second menu above the slider, center aligned. Is it possible to get the code for this option?
Not too familiar with coding so your help is very much appreciated….
1) What code do I need to reduce the width of the home page sliders and to add a ‘submit email’ form on the right? See sample here – http://goo.gl/ea4Rk
2) Where is the documentation for how to add the pricing charts? I need to create about 7 charts on 1 page.
3) How do we access the bullet, heading, highlight text, blockquote and drop cap options? I can’t seem to access the toolbar which does all of these options as shown in your video. Any ideas?
4) Which header font did you use for your demo version? It’s not in the supplied font list.
5) How can we add a second column of copy to pages?
P.S. And please make sure to use separate topics for non-related questions.
How do we add an clickable image to the sidebar as you did here? – http://pexeto.com/thecotton_wp/typography/

I have been looking at both this and your Dandelion theme, and LOVE the clean lines of both.
I have a quick pre-purchase question though please:
Is it possible in either to make the height of the slider on the home page deeper? I would like to have a more substantial size image there. Also, a lot of my work is in vertical format so cropping to fit a fairly narrow horizontal banner can sometimes be tricky, especially for the homepage initial image where I want my best work to display.
Would really love to know if it is possible to increase the depth size of that home slider. I would most likely use the Nivo slider, if that makes a difference.
Also would LOVE ,LOVE, LOVE it if in a future theme there was some way to showcase vertical images on the homepage in some sort of slider or a random scattering of images that were displayed that you would click on an individual image and each one would enlarge so orientation would not be any issue.
Beautiful themes though – just can’t decide between Dandelion and Cotton!
First of all – thank you, I’m glad you like our themes
Yes, you can change the slider size with a few modifications – additionally this question has been already answered on our support forum.
Also thank you for your suggestion, we will keep it in mind for our future projects
Thank you so much for your response. I took a few moments and browsed the support forums – sorry I didn’t do that before asking the question. It looks like the themes (both this one and dandelion) can be pretty much customized so it looks very unique. I love that I can do that.
Two more very quick questions, as I am still trying to choose between Dandelion and Cotton.
Does Dandelion have more than just one font? I saw Cotton has some options but did not see that in Dandelion, and also in Cotton is it possible to move the line of text on the intro page below the slider, like it is in Dandelion, or does it need to remain at the top?
Thank you again.
Both themes have a Fonts section in their Options panel. For Dandelion you can use Cufon fonts and for Cotton you can use both Cufon and Google API fonts. Both themes provide an option to upload your own custom Cufon fonts
Regarding the site intro on The Cotton theme – yes, it can be moved below the slider with a few code modifications.
Thanks so much. After deliberating long and hard between the two, I am going to go with The Cotton. I will buy later tonight and once up and running, add to your showcase.
Thank you for such awesome work and support.
I hope you will enjoy working with the theme
Just bought it – ready to get started now!
Just came back to say…. I have been working on my theme since I purchased it yesterday, and I am absolutely LOVING it.
I have a few things still to complete, but I am able to easily shape it to my vision, and it is turning out beyond my expectations. Your admin panel and instructions make it super easy.
ALSO , the support forum is awesome, as almost all the little customizations I have wanted to do, I have been able to easily find answers to.
THANK YOU for your work – really is a wonderful theme.
5 Star for sure
Thank you very much for your nice words, we really appreciate your feedback – we are very happy to know that people are satisfied with the theme And thanks for your support!
Lovely theme! Just a quick question- I’m helping a client who has purchased your theme. Is it possible to insert code (for something like a mailchimp opt-in form) into the nivo slider?
Thanks in advance for you help!
Thanks, I’m glad you like the theme
I think this won’t be easy to accomplish, as the Nivo slider sets the images as background images to another divs and doesn’t really display the content inserted (images in the standard case), but new generated divs with backgrounds, which wouldn’t work for non-image content.
Love this theme!
One question though – the contact form seems to be working on and off and when it does work it takes a while to get the emails. The email account we have set up is a gmail app account, so that the emails go straight to the business address. Does anyone have any advice on this?
First of all – thanks, I’m glad you like it
Please check my comment above
I’m a newbie, and about to buy The Cotton for my new blog (I’m an author). The site will feature mostly my blog posts, so wondering if its built in to have at the bottom of each post a chance for people to tweet the blog entry or share a tiny url from it? Thank you, and looking forward to hearing back!
Thank you for the interest
This can be very easily accomplished by using a plugin, such as Sociable or ShareThis.
Hello. I am looking for a blog, magazine theme and I really like the clean look of this one. I want to be able to run ads on it. Can I implement that feature in this theme?
This is a standard WordPress theme and it really depends on what kind of ads and on what place you would like to add them, but this isn’t really related with the theme. For ads management you may consider using a plugin- for example for Google Adsense, you can use the Advertising Manager Plugin or you may just manually insert the code provided, but once again – the way to accomplish this really depends on what exactly your target is, not that much on the theme.
hello! I’m using this great theme and I’d like to know how to modify some php (I think is in the portfolio-previewer.php file) to display portfolio showcase template with any video instead an image. An example of what I’m trying to do is here: http://www.arredamentidibari.it/video/
I want to use this template page to show any video with the thumb on the right sidebar and the video on the left (instead an image). (I’m not a genius with php, please help me)
thank you very much, I really loved to work with this theme. Hope you can help me.
There’s a reason why I continue to purchase and recommend your themes. The organization, documentation, and support are really top notch. Thanks so much for another great theme!
Thank you very much for your nice words and support! We are happy to hear that you are satisfied with the theme
Great Template!, its lovely. ^^
I would like to buy it, but is it possible to replace the Slider with a *.swf file?
I’m glad you did – lots of useful information can be found on the forum
I have a few questions before I purchase a theme, but this is the only way I could find to contact you …
I’m trying to decide between anthology, the cotton, or dandelion.
I am a photographer and have been in a bit of a SEO pickle for a while, so something needs to change. Your themes are appealing to me for one, because of all of the text I can include with my galleries and the information I can feature on the home page. I just want to confirm that all the text is searchable by google bots in the gallery with descriptions section??
I am really concerned about switching to a site that will help with my search rankings any way possible and be simple, yet informative for viewers. A flash site with no html mirror site has killed me in the past.
Yes, the galleries content of all three themes is indexable (searchable) by search engines, so everything should be okay with SEO .
