Hi there,

Should be okay now. Thanks for the heads up!

Best,

Chris

I like your theme Curator very much. One Question: I consider buying it for an artist who has two fields of work: Portrait and Sculpture. Is it possible to create a second timeline, so I can display each body of work individually? Thanks for helping by answering my question in advance.

Hi there,

Yes. You can create as many timelines as you like via WordPress categories.

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

Please, make this very very nice template responsive!!!

can a search field be inserted in the home page?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

You can add a search widget to the info panel section.

Beyond that, adding additional features to the theme would require a customization. You can submit custom requests here: http://themolitor.com/customization-request

Hi Molitor, very nice theme, just a question:

Is it possible to invert the timeline chronology? I need to display for first the most recent works

Thanks

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Yes. You can change the timeline order on the Customize page, under timeline settings.

Hello, Question- the timeline has a HUGE amount of white space at the end. This is also on your demo site – is there a way to get rid of this and to have the timeline end with the last image? Just as there is no white space in the beginning of the timeline… but it simply starts with the first image / post.

Thanks.

Hi,

I just wanted to say that this is a great theme. Highly recommended. The timeline is one of the best implementations of a timeline I have seen and so easy to manage.

FTR, you can set the timeline up to show BCE dates or pre-1970s, using a custom field and changing a couple of lines in the header.php file to refer to that instead of post->post_date. It’s pretty straightforward to do.

you made a nice theme there. But why don´t you tranfer the beuatiful timeline idea to blog posts or custom taxonomies/categories for blog posts?

In my situation, I would love to set up about 40 tags and navigate through them via your timeline navigation…

But this would also be beutiful for post dates

Maybe you´ll suggest it

Hi there,

Here’s a snapshot of the timeline options from the customizer page: http://s22.postimg.org/bq8nsoooh/curator_settings.png

Hope that helps!

can tags/cats be used as filters?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

You can put category links in the main menu to act as a filter.

Hi Chris,

maybe I gonna purchase after the ‘Navigator’ another theme of you I am evaluating for the portfolio of an artist a suitable theme and yours could fulfill after some tweaking most of the criteria. So here are some pre purchase questions.

The general idea is to have a gallery with separate rooms (room = category), each with an ‘infinitely long’ wall, where all the paintings of one categories are hanging. It will be not more than 40 items per category.

So …

1. I don’t need all that timeline stuff and probably it is easy to remove it.

2. Each ‘room’ should have a different background – and my question is, whether I can assign for each timeline a different background via page-id ?

3. In a real gallery the paintings are not vertically aligned like it happens in the theme’s timeline. Is there a possibility to tweak for each picture its height and it’s position vertically ? Horizontally I can vary the gap between two paintings with hanging some transparent png in between, but can I somehow influence the vertical position of an item in the timeline ?

Ok, these are the main questions. Looking forward to your reply.

Cheers Peter

Hi there,

1. The timeline is just the way the content is organized chronologically. You can turn off the time/date feature from displaying on the timeline if you want.

2. Currently that’s not a theme feature.

3. Unfortunately that’s not an easy edit and would require custom development to achieve.

Hope that helps!

Hi Chris,

2. is possible with a plugin. Enhances the theme a lot. Client is very satisfied to see his paintings in different rooms.

And then I just want to say, that this theme is profoundly solid -love to work with it the same way like with your ‘Navigator’ theme.

Verily your themes are outstanding in times of this flat-hyper-parallax-one page hype.

Cheers

I really appreciate the nice feedback :-)

Hello! I’m very interested in purchasing this theme, but questions; My intention is to create a year long timeline, which I want to be generic – ie no year numbers – a timeline that runs from january 1 to december 31. Maybe the correct way to ask this question is ‘can the timeline be broken up by month’? I’d like it never to show the year number in the timeline, or anywhere. I acknowledge that the posts will obviously have a year in their published date, but i want that hidden in all instances. I intend to pick any year, say 2013 for example, and then backdate all posts to that year in order to present them at the correct position on the year long timeline. Is this possible with the curator theme?

I’d also like to confirm that the header title and body fonts’ sizes and colours etc are fully customisable in css if not in the theme customisation dialogue? I’m going for a more cinematic aesthetic.

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Thanks for your interest in The Curator!

1, The timeline can be organized by year, decade, century and millennium.

2. You can turn off the year labels (above posts and next to post title).

3. The site title in the header is a logo image, so you can customize that however you like. There’s a Custom CSS box in the theme options so that you can add your own CSS styling without having to edit theme files.

Hope that helps!

Chris

I have just purchased your theme, but after installation and test, there is just an empty page showing “Fatal error: Invalid hex length in /home/.sites/434/site3015154/web/wp-content/themes/curator/header.php on line 64”. I haven’t changed anything. Would you please help?

Hi, is possible to have the bottom timeline always visible (for example in posts etc) and centered to the date of the displayed post? Even better a minimized “version” of the home page on footer (like a bar).

Thank you

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

That would require extensive custom development to achieve. For customizations like this, you can use my request form here: http://themolitor.com/customization-request

We use it for an art project about the norwegian flag. if you want to have a look feel free: antipodescafe.org/norgesflagg content is basically in norwegian.

thanks for your work.
