Hello ! Excellent theme ! I just have one question before buy it, is it possible to put the timeline verticaly instead of horizontaly ?

Great Job by the way :) Matthieu

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

That is not a supported feature and would require a significant amount of work to achieve. You’re welcome to submit a request here: http://themolitor.com/custom—and someone from the Werkpress team will get back to you regarding cost and time for that change.

Thanks!

Hi theMOLITOR (Chris),

This Theme looks great. I am considering using it to reveal the immediate activities of an organization. Before I purchase, it would be helpful to know two things:

1 – Can the timeline work as something that is based in 2013?

2 – Can the images in the timeline be linked to blog posts either before or after the image Lightbox opens?

Any further detail on the way it works and options the timeline provides would be great. I watched the backend instructional vids for your HUD theme – is there anything comprable for this?

Thanks for your help.

Best,

Michael

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

1. Yes, but you may need a plugin that will make future-dated posts publish (instead of become “scheduled” psots).

2. Yes, there are instructions to do that in my support forums.

Here’s the video walk-through for this theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaeJKm9_ixo

Thanks!

HI, this looks great. Two questions:

1- No more live demo available?
2- Can it embed easily videos and/or streaming (either uploaded either from a video service (youtube, vimeo etc…)

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

1. Demo should be available. Let me know if you continue to have trouble accessing it.

2. Yes, super easy ;-)

Thanks!

Chris

Perfect theme for artists! The tutorials are very practical and the hotline is very responsive and really helps to use the theme. I could solve the problem of dates through the Wordpress plug-in” Advanced Dates ”.

Thank you Chris !

Hello, Congratulation for this theme, it is nice and functional! ALthought I got a lot of answears to my questions while reading to the comments, I have just few questions before buying the theme.

I will include galleries in the site. So I would like to know if the images of the galleries could have the same properties as the images in the timeline. 1.That means the fact that when we click on a image in the gallery it will pop up the image and also open a “slider” with additional images (that are not in the gallery) as pop up. 2. The fact that when we click on the title of an image in the gallery will link us to a new page.

Are those properties specific to the images of the timeline or can I add it to images in galleries. If no, could this be customized ? Thanks a lot!! Véro

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Thanks for the nice remarks :-)

1. Any timeline-based post category will display like the home page, with the same functionality/features.

2. There are instructions for this feature in my support forums.

Hope that helps!

Best,

Chris

Many thanks for your quick reply ! Just to make sure I understand well (sorry I’m french ;) ), it means that any image in a gallery (that is not timeline-based) can have the same feature as the images of the timeline that are shiwn in the home page ? Hope you can understand me ;) Best, Véro

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

To clarify, you can create a category called “gallery”, for example, and have that display like the timeline on the home page. Think of it as a category page. You have the option to choose which categories you create display using the timeline feature. All other categories display like the blog example in the demo.

Hope that explains things better.

Thanks!

Hi, I am interested to use your theme for my artist client, but have some things I want to modify. I want to know how possible it is:

- can the chronological unit be changed to yearly, or monthly? - I will have a lot of artworks, probably about 500. Loading them all in one age will be problematic, yes? Is it possible to paginate the timeline? or maybe ajax loading? or what would be your solution to too much content? - is it possible to change clicking on the image, instead of opening it in lightbox, to reveal the text underneath? - how hard is it to modify the look of the web pages? my client wants something cleaner looking and different font - are you available to do the programming to customize the theme, and what is your rate?

thanks, looking forward for your immediate reply.

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

1. The units available are years, decades, centuries and millenniums.

2. Currently pagination is not a feature for the timeline, so I would recommend breaking content up into multiple categories (which use the timeline feature).

3. Yes, I can provide instruction for that.

4. It depends on specifically what you want to do. Everything is styled using CSS, so it should be relatively easy for simple style changes. For more advanced edits, you can submit a customization request here: http://themolitor.com/custom

5. I don’t have the bandwidth to handle customizations myself, but I’ve partnered with a design/development shop to handle these requests for me. You can submit a request for services here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Chris

Thanks for the answers,

I have some other questions:

1. can the clicking action of the timeline picture be changed? Instead of opening a lightbox, it will go to a post.

2. my client’s artworks are plenty (about 500+), so to put all artworks (not mentioning foreseeing future additions) on the timeline will be too bulky for the website. I like your #2 response (categorization), but not sure how it will work. One thing I can do is to pool the large body of work into groups (eg. 10 similar summer paintings into one). Maybe these 10 can be inside a single post? On the timeline, will be represented by just one image.

Thanks, Jeff

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

1. Yes, I can provide instruction for that.

2. You could combine items into a single post. There’s an image slider on individual post pages, so they can easily explore the different content on a single page like that.

Hope that helps!

Best,

Chris

Hello, I have a doubt before purchasing the theme. This theme is perfect for what I am looking for but instead of a cronological timeline I want this to be a color timeline as i have blue paints, yellow paints, red paints and so on. Is this possible to change or is it only chronological?

Thanks in advance,

Tamara

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Currently the timeline only supports date-related dividing of content. If you’re wanting to incorporate a different method, please submit a customization request here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Hi,

I!ve a question before purchasing.I wonder if I have chance to use posts instead of image as a timeline.

Thanks

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Yes. The timeline is populated by posts (each item is a post), so if a featured image is not selected for the post, then it just displays the post excerpt in place of the image.

Thanks!

Is this setup to work in monthly intervals?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Currently the options are year based (I.e. year, decade, century and millennium).

Please feel free to submit a customization request to explore other possibilities: http://themolitor.com/custom

Hello Molitor,

1- I would like to buy this theme but I need to post 1800 articles in the timeline. Do u think this could be a problem to have such a bunch of post to load ?

2-Moreover I would like to decompose the timeline in months for four years. It would be one article per day for four years. Is it possible ?

I wanted to find these information on your forum but I have to register first. And I don’t want to buy it if I can’t do the two previous requests.

Sincerely, M.

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

1. That’s a lot of content. Technically you can do it, but the loading times would depend on the quality of your hosting provider, utilization of a caching system and/or a content delivery network. In other words, there are ways to make the site load quickly with that much content, but it would require extracurricular work. I personally would recommend breaking that content into groups/categories, and not display it all on a single timeline.

2. Currently the timeline only supports date-related dividing of content based on the year (i.e. year, decade, millennium, and century).

Thanks!

Love and want to buy your “Curator” theme. :)

In addition to still images of artworks, I also have video documents of time based installations I want to feature within the posts. Here is the current self-designed site I have and want to transfer/mimic with your theme: http://tascencao.com/

If so, what video formats are allowed?

Many thanks, Teresa

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Thanks for your interest!

Currently the video feature requires an embed code. I recommend uploading your videos to services like Vimeo or YouTube, but anything that generates an embed code for you is fine.

Best,

Chris

Default-user

super! just one more question… will I have some creative control over the size of the video and playback options (such as pause and clicking in timeline to jump forward) using your embed option?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Just to clarify, you provide the embed code using 3rd party sources like YouTube or Vimeo. The theme doesn’t generate the embed code or video player.

Thanks!

Chris

Default-user

ok thanks. i guess the size is also controlled by the 3rd party player.

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

The theme does have size requirements as the timeline has a set height.

Best,

Chris
