Hi there,

That would require a bit of work to integrate. For requests like this, please use this form: http://themolitor.com/custom

Your Navigator theme is inspirational and I’d love to try it for one of my geo centric projects, but I am concerned about whether you are intend to actually update and refine this theme in the future?

I ask because your Features list promises “FREE version upgrades”, but it’s been almost a year since you last updated this theme. You appear to have updated it 3 times in rapid succession back in 2011 and then stopped developing it!

Please state your intentions and rough time frame for a future update so I can determine whether it would be wise to purchase your theme at this time.

FEATURE SUGGESTIONS :

Seems to me that as nice as your theme is, there are some obvious features that need to be added, such as an slightly larger icon to lower screen control bar to click or hover over that would hide/show the upper menu bar section and any floating windows in view with one click or hover so that a visitor could easily study the “big picture” of either 2 styles of map view or full screen image displaying in the background blog posts, etc. I understand that the floating window can be hidden by clicking the very small red dot, but that is quite slow to use as a hide/show method. IMO , a visitor’s enjoyment in exploring a Navigator theme site could be greatly enhanced with such a feature add.

Another I can think of would be to enable Google Map’s feature “Get Directions” feature so that visitor could jump to Google to get directions to a featured location because owner of site desires to offer that convenience.

Hi there,

This is the second time you’ve asked and this is the second time I’ve responded to this question…

I don’t have a schedule if that’s what you’re looking for. I mention this theme has a free upgrade with purchase because a lot users may expect to pay for new versions like they do for software they purchase on their computer. I don’t consider updates to be the main appeal of this theme. My hope is that the theme itself, as is, is enticing enough. If the idea of future features are more enticing to you than what is currently available, then this may not be the right theme for you.

You can submit customization requests here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks,

Chris

Chris

You just removed my comment asking a legitimate question about Free Upgrade feature you claim to offer. instead you sent me a private email from a “no-reply” address instead stating that it was the 2nd time that I had asked this same question. To my knowledge I have never made a single comment in this Comments section in the past regarding your Navigator theme. Please refer me back to the date of my first question in this comment section so I can determine whether you are correct or just making it up to get rid of questions you find embarrassing to have posted in the Comments Section.

hi theMolitor… just a question: do u know how to load the map not centered on POI ? I want pan to right the POI in order to reserve more space for the Post Area. If u have some hint…. Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Unfortunately that isn’t a quick edit and requires a bit of work to make sure there aren’t any side effects. Please submit a request for this here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Hi,

I installed the theme, unfortunately I can’t zoom the map by double-clicking on objects or use the mouse wheel (both features of google maps) – is it just me or is that normal? How can I solve this issue?

Thanks in advance, Marc

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

That’s normal. The custom zoom buttons don’t “talk” to other methods of zooming. Additionally, since the map is full screen, mouse events can cause usability issues with unwanted zooming while interacting with other parts of the screen.

A lot of users post their customizations on my support forums. I recommend taking a glance over here: http://themolitor.com/forums

Thanks!

I want to import and test Navigator WP theme first with the Demo Data .xml file provided with my purchased download, but am having trouble understanding how to achieve the import and display of it.

Is the idea that after the .xml demo data file is imported that Navigator theme then will display all the images, pages and posts that your current online WP demo displays? I'd like to start familiarizing myself with how your demo data and menus are setup in WP Dashboard before attempting to customize the theme to my own needs.

My understanding is that first one imports the .xml file via Dashboard/Tools/Import/ panel and afterwards the theme will display all data and images imported the same as your online demo does. Is that correct?

Is there a step by step tutorial at your forum or at WordPress site that makes it clear that you can point me to?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

For support, please post a thread on my support forums: http://themolitor.com/forums—also, be sure to review FAQ threads as your questions might be answered there.

Thanks!

Chris

I have an xml file with map locations. For example: <?xml version=”1.0” encoding=”UTF-8”?> <kml xmlns=”http://www.opengis.net/kml/2.2”> <Document> <Placemark> <name>Big Tunnels</name> <description>#193 GCY - Depth:55.0 ft</description> <Point> <coordinates>-81.41651,19.368266</coordinates> </Point> </Placemark> </Document> </kml>

Can this be imported somewhere and automatically create the posts?

What is the limit on number of posts/map locations?

Thanks!

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Unfortunately that isn’t something supported by default. You can submit a customization for that here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Regarding limits, I’m not aware of a specific number. One user posted they have trouble with loading times if they have over 200 items, but results vary depending on your server quality and particular setup.

Hope that helps!

Chris

Hello Chris,

I want to be able to show 2 different versions of one location. I see you can do this with your demo but I don’t know how. For instance, using categories, I want to show a certain category of markers on my same Caymans map, and then when you click on the menu item linked to another category, it shows a different set of markers on the same Cayman map. Hope that makes sense. I’ve seen it on your demo and how you click on different countries and the map markers change.

Hello Chris,

Maybe I can explain it better. On your demo map, you have the entire world map with all the pins in every continent location. You get this map when you click on Home. Under the Home menu, you have all the continents. When you click on one continent, the markers disappear, it zooms into that area, and only a set of new markers show for that area. How do you do this? I’ve tried creating new categories, but it doesn’t seem to work for me.

Thanks.

I am surfing for your website, some times i cant see the map and i see a giant message: “The image you’re trying to load is located on another domain. To avoid stealing bandwith, please download the image and upload it to your domain”. What is this?? Is the demo broken?

And i have a doubt about the gallery options. Do the theme resize the images to built a image gallery in the pages?

Thanks.

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Due to large amounts of hotlinking from my demo sites, I’ve had to implement a feature to prevent it. Not sure why you’re seeing that message though. It’s setup to work on my demo sites. Maybe try refreshing?

Regarding the gallery, yes, the thumbnails are auto-resized to fit into a grid. Once you click the image, you can see the original size.

Thanks!

Chris

Hello. Great theme! I had a question prior to purchasing. Can I control the size of the page? For instance, the “about” page of the demo site….. can that be widened? Thanks!

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

That isn’t a built-in feature, but you can submit a customization request here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Chris

Would you be able to tell me the maximum width a page could be as is…. Thanks!

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

For posts, it’s 300px.

For pages, it’s 505px.

Hope that helps!

Chris

Why are your forums only available to people who have already purchased the theme? One of the ways I judge the quality of a premium theme is to see what people are saying about it on the support forum, but I can’t even read your forum posts, apparently, unless I am a registered purchaser of the theme?

Anyway, what I was trying to find out is how much this theme can be customised with plugins and theme tweaks. I don’t want my site to look the same as other sites using this theme as there is already one user in my competitor group.

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

My forums are only intended for paid users to get help with issues they’re having or to get more information about how to use the theme. In the past, I’ve discovered that I spent a good chunk of time helping users that stole my theme, so this is the only approach to preventing that.

Regarding plugins and theme tweaks, anything beyond what you see in the item description, demo site and video walk-through would be considered a customization. You can submit a request for customizations here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Chris

I am not suggesting that you allow non-paid users to post in the forums. Only that it should not do any harm to your revenue to allow registered users of this site to also view forum posts (but not post or reply).

Also, there are many developers out there like myself who prefer to do their own theme customisations rather than pay someone else to do them.

I only have one question… How is this theme on yours on mobile?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

It displays the same way, just smaller ;) - there isn’t a mobile version if that’s what you’re wondering.

Thanks!

Are you planning on creating one?

is there any reason that you disabled scrollwheel and DoubleClickZoom?

Sorry, I posted this question in the HTML template by mistake: Is there an option to change the icons/markers to group together types of locations on the map? or, Is there a way that the user can filter to see only specified locations?

Thanks, great theme!

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Yes, you can customize the icon for each individual location, so you can “group” them by using certain icons for certain locations.

Regarding a filter, the tags help achieve this. You can check out the demo site for examples of it being used.

Thanks!

Hello, I really like your template but I have to ask you a question? Is there a way to display the map on a specific city, and not the entire planet? Moreover there is a way to have a button in the menu with a sub menu with different cities so you can click and view a map of the city? I draw maps of the city near my city for tourists and put the maps on the web. I want people to be able to choose the city in which they are interested and look at his map with places of interest. Is that possible? (http://www.freemap.it, if you click on the city and later on giovinazzo or molfetta …... that’s what I want) when the site opens it can start from any city than I post, it is important you can choose from a menu the other cities. Let me know, thanks for your time

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Yes, please check out the FAQ tab and demo site where the drop down menu is demonstrated.

Thanks!

Chris

Hi there,

Is your theme compatible with the multilingual plugin WPML please?

Thanks.

Hi there,

No, not currently.

Thanks!

Hi!

Greate theme! Is it possible to show related blog-posts for a destination? That would be great!
