You wouldn’t happen to know if this theme works with The Events Calendar Plugin?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

I haven’t used/tested that plugin, so I can’t say for sure. I’m not aware of anything that would prevent the plugin from working, but please keep in mind that I do not provide support for plugins.

Thanks!

Chris

Hi again! So I got the theme, and it’s working great. I was wondering if there’s a way of selecting two categories as blog categories, instead of just one. That way I can create two menus, one for posts in English and the other for posts in Portuguese, and not have to worry about the translation plugin. Which file would I have to edit in order to do this? I don’t mind doing it fixed in the code instead of through the options page, if it’s easier. Thanks!

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

You could try creating a parent category and making two child categories. Other than that you’ll need use this form as this is considered a customization: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Chris

I am looking to create a downloadable app for my nonprofit. This theme looks fantastic, and seems to be exactly what I need. I just have one question. would it work with something like phonegap for me to create the web app? Forgive me if this is an obvious question. I am a designer with some programming skills, and not a programmer :) Thanks for your help, and for what looks to be an amazing WP theme!

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

I can’t say for sure as I’ve never heard of phonegap, but this theme is licensed, so doing something that is downloadable would require an extended license of the theme, which is 50x it’s current cost.

Thanks!

Chris

Hi there,

I used to have a website that showed all the whisky distilleries over the world. It was a self written application with a database containing location and other info of the distilleries.

However due to lack of time I could not send the time I need keeping of with the new releases of the Google maps API and/or the software I wrote it in.

This morning whilst googling for a Wordpress template for another site of mine I found this template.

I looks like I could use your template to show the distilleries over the world. Am I correct in that assumption?

I also had a look at the example sites and I notice that they all have the same dark “theme” can these colors be changed?

Kind regards

Johannes

ps: best wishes for 2013.

Thanks Chris

What are the advantages of the Wordpress template above the HTML template?

Johannes

theMOLITOR

The WordPress version is a bit easier to manage as WordPress handles all the coding for you. You just need to populate fields with information. The HTML version requires you to do all the coding yourself (i.e. copy/paste existing code).

Thanks!

Tx Chris.

I just have to sort out a few things with my provider and most likely will purchase the Wordpress theme early feb.

Johannes

Any plans to make it responsive?

theMOLITOR

No plans at this time :-)

I second that above (re responsive) – amazing work all the same :)

theMOLITOR

Thanks for the feedback! :-)

Some questions before purschasing this theme..

Lets say I’d like to do a page about a city for e.x New York.

On the map I would like to list different things with different icons for e.x

- Hotels - Activities - Stores - Arenas

And so on – is this possible?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Yes, you can customize pins for individual posts. You can also create a map that only shows a specific category of items (i.e. “New York”).

Thanks!

Chris

hello why am i getting errors installing theme

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

Ok, a big question. I love this theme, it’s amazing, but let’s say I only wanted this (the home page) as a page within a more standard site. Like using the homepage almost as a plugin. The theme is beautiful, but I have need for something less map focused, but would love to utilize the functionality you built. Any thoughts on how this might be possible?

Thank you,

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

That’s a pretty tall order. I would probably recommend implementing the HTML version of this theme as it would be less of a headache removing all the WordPress functions.

Ultimately you’ll need to hire someone to implement this into an existing theme. You can submit a customization request for this here: http://themolitor.com/custom—and someone form the Werkpress team will get in contact with you regarding budget and time.

Thanks!

Chris

Are you work in new features soon? What are they?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

I’m always open to suggestions ;-)

Thanks!

Chris

Hello,

this theme looks great! :)

i have some questions: - can visitors/members add pins to the world map with respective information? - pins colors can be changed, have more than one color? - if it’s possible change the colors, it’s easy to create a legend box floating?

sorry for my english :)

regards, bruno moura

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

1. Registered members that have access to add a new post can do that, but not visitors who only have access to the front-end of the site.

2. Yes, you can customize the pin using an image URL for each individual post.

3. A legend box is not part of the theme, but you can submit a customization request for that here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Chris

brunomouranet

oh great! let’s see if i can get what i want ;)

keep up the good work.

Is there a responsive option coming soon ?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

No immediate plans, but if this is a important feature requirement, you can submit a customization request here: http://themolitor.com/custom—and someone from the Werkpress team will get in contact with you.

Thanks!

Chris

Is it possible to not have the big main map on the homepage. To have that elsewhere.

The homepage to be a normal text and image page.

Thanks

Liam

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

You can assign a static page as the home page using the built-in WordPress settings. This would look something like the about page—http://themes.themolitor.com/wpnavigator/about/

Thanks!

Chris

hi, really cool theme, just a question before purchase…is it child-theme friendly?

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

All themes are child-theme friendly. That said, child themes (in general) do have some limitations. This is a nice article that accommodates the official WordPress codex on child themes nicely: http://wpengineer.com/2045/understand-wordpress-child-theme/

Thanks!

Chris

Hello,

I’m def. leaning towards this theme, and was wondering if there was a way you could rotate the map on the home screen?

Thanks!

theMOLITOR

Hi there,

I’m not quite sure I know what you mean by “rotate the map”. Could you provide more detail?

Thanks!

Chris

Hi, I realized that two of the (useful) Google Maps navigational behaviors are missing:
  • 1. Scroll zoom (zoom in/out using mouse roller or what they call it).
  • 2. Double click zooms one level closer.
  • Did I miss something? – And if I didn’t, would it be possible to add it as a feature in an update?
    theMOLITOR

    Hi there,

Users on my support forum have posted instructions for this customization. That said, scroll and double-click to zoom were disabled for a couple reasons…

    1. Since the map is fullscreen, scrolling through content on the page would simultaneously cause the map to zoom, creating a confusing experience for the user.

    2. This theme uses custom zoom control buttons. As a result, they don’t “talk” to the other methods of zooming. The result causes the map to “jump” as it wasn’t aware you were zooming with the custom buttons when you try to scroll or double-click to zoom.

    Thanks!

    Hi Chris,

Thanks, this was real quick response. Answers noted. Btw any way to read that FAQ on you support forum without buying it first (reg. needs purchase code)? I just want to see what the “users have posted” to see if there’s any chance by modifying etc.

    theMOLITOR

    Hi there,

If you email me from my profile page I’ll copy/paste it for you to review. Please be sure to reference our conversation.

    Thanks!

Hi! Is this theme compatible with the latest wordpress version because I’ve installed recently and I get a lot of errors in Chrome Inspector, like 24 errors Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘0’ of undefined

    theMOLITOR

    Hi there,

Yes, it’s compatible. For support, please proceed to my support forum: http://themolitor.com/forums—I don’t provide support here in the comments.

Hi, I try to use gMap3 version 5.0b but “The Navigator” won’t show google maps at all!

is it possible to use new gMap3 version with “The Navigator”?

Is it possible to use this theme as a plugin mode so that my site will remain as it is then this will be applied only on specific category.

Or perhaps a recommended plugin that will work like an automatic theme switcher that when I am viewing a locations category the site will switch to this theme. I know there are lots of plugin that does that but perhaps you have a recommended one.

Right now my plan is to install another wp on my sub folder http://mysite.com/locator

but then I would need to maintain 2 WP. Perhaps you have a way to be able to use this theme on existing WP site changing only the locator categories.

    thanks

    theMOLITOR
