How do I change the height of the header to make room for a larger logo?
You have to change the header height and the position of the navigation menu. Open up the style.css file in the theme folder and search for ”#top”. Change the height to whatever you want. Let’s change it from 100px to 200px. This will make the top twice as heigh. Next search for #mainmenu and add the same amount of pixels to the ‘top’ attribute. This will force the mainmenu down. Thats it
How can I make sure my custom changes don’t do to waste with new updates?
It’s always a tricky thing to support custom changes for buyers. The thing I recommend the most is to make backups of your files!
Next, rename the new themefolder from “therestaurant” to something like “therestaurant3” or “therestaurant_new”. The name doesn’t matter much, but it will allow you to install the old and new version next to eachother
Now you can re-apply the changes you made to the old version way easier!
Help! The frontpage won’t show the three images with text!
The frontpage on the demo is a custom widget area. If you go to Settings->Reading, make sure the “Your Latest Posts” is checked. This will activate the custom frontpage, instead of the default blogview.
Now simply drag & drop the “Custom Features Content Widget” to the “Frontpage top” widget area. We have three of them in the demo
