I just purchased “the Wedding” theme. I am having issues displaying the featured slider. I have created slideshow post types and set an image for each one in the featured image section. In the theme options v1.6.6 I have the featured slider turned on with 3 items being displayed. It is just showing a big white box. I am on wordpress 3.5.1. Please Help
Can you provide admin acces to your site wp-admin so we could have a quick look? Just send the credential using the contact form in our profile page http://themeforest.net/user/ThemeWarriors
I just purchased The Wedding theme and I can’t figure out how to get the menu items across the top navigation. I’m obviously missing something quite obvious, but I’ve been trying for a few hours now and I really can’t figure it out. Please help!!
Here’s a nice video tutorial on how to setup your WordPress menu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkuHbkaieZ4
I purchased this theme because I thought the responsive design would be great only to find out it’s not working on my phone or ipad. The dropdown menus are not functioning on iphone or ipad. please help. thanks!
Can you me your site url?
Did you made any changes to the theme files? I noticed the main menu in the header isn’t working when viewed on mobile devices, it’s working just fine in our demo site.
This is strange, I noticed the when I view the site on my work comp, it looks strange also. I’ll start off with a fresh theme and i’ll see what happens. I’ll let you know if it fixes it. thanks!
I’ve installed a fresh copy, apparently the responsive design is still glitchy. I’ve checked your demo site on my iPhone and iPad and your programmers have added some code to stop the “your” mobile demo site from resizing. Why is this?
Ok I figured something else out. When the browser width is reduced and I am not logged into my wordpress admin, the dropdown menu does not work on any browser. The only time it will work is if I”m logged into admin.
What did you mean by “your programmers have added some code to stop the “your” mobile demo site from resizing.” ?
Here’s a video I took to show you that the responsive layout and the dropdown menu is working just fine in our demo site (not logged in) -> http://vine.co/v/b66UXh6Qm3b
you need to view the demo on an iPhone or iPad instead of resizing your browser. I like this template. I think its awesome and you guys did a great job, just trying to figure out some kinks, no disrepesct at all.
Sorry, I retract the comment. It was actually the iframe of themeforest that’s is keeping the site from resizing on mobile devices. Now… I just need to figure out why its not working for me. I’m going to try to downgrade to a different version of wordpress. Will keep you posted. Thanks again.
Ok figured it out. When the window is resized to mobile size, it’s not reading the JS files at the bottom of the code. I moved it to between <head> </head> along with the jquery and all seems to be working now. I’m not sure if its just my server messing things up but it might be worth looking into because this is a VERY BEAUTIFUL theme. thanks!
Sorry for the very late reply. I was some family issues that I need to take care of first.
Glad you managed to sort it out mate
Great work !!! I´m very happy with this theme but I have a problem with the Gallery. I create a gallery but the Thickbox plug-in doesn´t work. Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot!!
Have you tried disabling your plugins one by one to see any of them might caused Thickbox not working?
I have no plugins activated.
Can you tell your site url?
I sent you a private message. Thanks for your help.
I’m sorry for the delay in response, my wife just delivered our 2nd child and my oldest one is having a really bad flu, I my self also sick since several days ago (still need some rest).
I promise I will go through all of your questions soon.
Hi Warriors team!
I want to translate the theme and I have changed the en_US.po file but my site remains in english. What more do I have to do to translate it? Thanks in advance.
You need to made some changes to wp-config.php file as well. Here’s a complete guide to change the language -> http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
I did everything to change the theme’s language. The wordpress admin is in my language, but I couldn’t change some words in my site, like the “countdown” one.
I followed this steps:
- changed the wp-config.php -> define(‘WPLANG’,’pt_BR’);
- uploaded the admin translated files indo /wp-content/languages directory. Inside this directory, exists one called themes. Do I have to put the .po and .mo file inside it, renaming to the-wedding-pr_BR??
To change the countdown language please follow this instruction -> http://themeforest.net/item/the-wedding-elegant-wedding-wordpress-theme/discussion/2475860?page=2#comment_2517007
So this theme doesn’t have one file that I change all the words, messages, right?
I have to change file per file… Is that right?
Other text in the theme can be change by creating a new .po file (based on the en_US.po file) called pr_BR.po in the “lang” folder.
The text “About the couple” and “Gallery” are hardcoded too?
Sorry for the late reply.
They are not hardcoded, you can find them in the en_US.po file.
What is the name of the font in the home page default logo? Is it available for the gimp image editing suite?
The font used in the logo are Dancing Script and Lora. Both fonts are available in the Google Web Fonts site http://www.google.com/webfonts
I created a comments page so people could leave their comments. How do I remove the default text link “visit Site” from the comments page.
You need to open /the-wedding/functions/theme-options/theme-functions.php then find and remove this code:
<a href="<?php comment_author_url()?>">visit site</a>
Congrats for your two kids.
I’m having issues displaying my homepage with featured slider if by default reading settings I put a splash page. How may I call the home page with the featured slider in home with these settings? Also, my featured slider is not centered. I wrote you two emails and hadn’t had any reply yet, is everything all right?
Thank you for the kind words.
The slider will not work if you set another post / page in Reading settings as your homepage.
Can you be more specific with not centered slider? If you use default settings the slider should already be centered unless if you upload smaller image (slider image should have at least 860×540 pixel).
If you asked support question via our contact form it will be ignored (as stated in the contact page) because we can’t determine whether the message sender is a valid theme purchaser or not.
1) exactly. I uploaded 860×540 pictures and my slider’s left margin is ok, the right margin is over the end of the main content margin and I do not know why.
2) How can I config my wordpress with a splash page without using a plugin (since plugins do not do what I want on the splash page), and after entering the website, I would like to display my home page with the slider. I want my home to be the splash page, but after that, my real home page is the one with the slider. can’t do it following these instructions because of the function that is called based on the reading settings in wordpress. (http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page)
I hope I have explained myself correctly.
PS sorry, I didn’t read that part regarding the support requests.
Can you provide us with a link to your site?
I was able to fix every little “bug” i encountered.
My customized multilanguage website is visible @ http://bit.ly/Y402ZP .
Just to let other users know:
SPLASH PAGE as the one online can be done with .htaccess as themewarriors suggested.
Every little style problem can be easily fixed using firebug or equivalent.
Good to know you got it working mate.
I wrote before but I am still having the same issues. You posted a tutorial on how to upload the template to wordpress but the tutorial is no help. In the tutorial it says to select “install themes” once you go to the themes section of your blog. There is no “install themes” button when I sign in.
What am I missing?
You need to login to wp-admin then click on Appearance -> Themes from the left hand side. Then click on the “Install Theme”, after that click on the “Upload” link.
Here’s a nice tutorial on Youtube -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9z73cEf4M4&t=02m16s
As I mentioned before, there is no “install theme” button. Please give me the best e-mail to contact you at and I’ll send you a screenshot.
Send us an email to email@example.com
Are you using self-hosted WordPress or wordpress.com?
I’m guessing that you’re using not self-hosted WordPress or you’re using WordPress multi-site feature.
I love the template so far. This is my first wordpress attempt. I’m trying to create my own wedding website and have run into some difficulties. I’ve read through all of the included documentation, but it is very basic and doesn’t offer any troubleshooting.
1) I restored all defaults in “The Wedding Configuration v1.17”, and all of the options are turned “on”. The “Full Name”, “About”, and “Photo” don’t show up on the homepage.
2)I enabled the slider, but I don’t see anything on the home page to scroll through the pictures like with the sample Yogi and Imel page
3)I inputted the wedding date and time on the “general” page of “the wedding configuration” but I don’t see a nice countdown like on the sample Yogi and Imel page. Is this a separate widget that I need to install?
1. If you restored the WarriorPanel, all of the data that was configured are deleted. You’ll have to re-configure the Full Name, About and Photo once again.
2. Make sure you created more than one Slideshow item, in each slideshow item make sure you upload the slideshow image and make that image the featured image.
3. It doesn’t show up probably because you restored WarriorPanel, you’ll have to re-enter the wedding date & time once again.
Hi and thanks for the quick response. I tried doing each of these steps and with the same results. I even tried deleting the theme from Wordpress and then reinstalling. Same issues:
1)I reconfigured the full name, about and photo, and they are still not showing up
2) I created 3 slideshows, each with one image set as the featured image. How do I incorporate these into my homepage so that it has the “fade” effect as you click through the images (like on Yogi and Imel)?
3) The countdown still does not show on the homepage even after re-entering the date and time
Would it be easier if I emailed you the page address and access?
Yup, just email us your site url & also admin username & password. Just send it through the contact form in our profile page http://themeforest.net/user/ThemeWarriors
Awesome. Thanks! That fixed everything. I was wondering:
1)Is there any way to have the countdown read “There’s only…” instead of “The Countdown” and have it be months, weeks, days (no hours minutes seconds)?
2)Do all slideshow slides automatically get linked to the homepage? Can there be a second slideshow on another menu within the theme?
3)For the RSVP option, how do I know when someone completes the form?
$('#count').find('h4').append('<?php _e('The Countdown', 'warrior'); ?>').addClass('title');
$('#count').find('h4').append('<?php _e('There\'s only…', 'warrior'); ?>').addClass('title');
2. Yes, it’s automatically displayed in the homepage and only in the homepage.
3. It’s not possible with the default code, you’ll need to have PHP skills to make the required modifications or use other contact form plugins to create the RSVP form.
Thanks -I understand now on the slideshow and RSVP.
As far as the countdown, I’m logged into my wp-admin page but I don’t know how to navigate to where you can modify the code. Is it in the warrior panel?
Also, any way to just do Months, Weeks, Days?
OK, I figured out how to change “The Countdown”. Apparently the code does not like apostrophe’s as I had to change “There’s” to “There is”. I’m still wondering if it can be listed as months, weeks, days only.
“Weeks” in the timer isn’t supported by the jQuery plugin that we used so you’ll need to modify the jquery.updowntimer.js file (located in the “js” folder).
I’ a newbie so I got it install but not sure how to change the names on the title. Of course it was easy with the bride and groom but not sure how to on the main title. Thanks
You need to upload a new logo to change the names in the header.
Ok I see I needed to upload the logo for the Title… But now I have a problem with the slideshow it only does 3 pictures I have 6. Any ideas on what I doing wrong?
I assume you already created slideshow item, just make sure each slideshow item has 1 image then set it as featured image. If you want to display 6 slideshows then you’ll have to create 6 slideshow items.
I’m new to wordpress so maybe I’m missing something fairly basic, but I cannot figure out how to remove the date and author from new pages I create? Thanks for the theme and the help.
You just need to open /the-wedding/page.php then find and remove this code:
<?php warrior_post_info(); ?>
Thanks, I guess I messed up when I tried commenting that out.
After some editing, the featured slider has disappeared from the home page. I was trying to remove the countdown timer but seem to have removed the whole thing.
You can simply revert it by upload the original file to your server. You can download the theme files from ThemeForest download section.
First off—this theme is fantastic! I am using this for a party for one person, thus I need to change the “About the Couple” text on the home page. Where do I find this text to change?
You can change it from The Wedding Theme Optiions (in the theme options click on the “General” tab).
There is nothing in the GENERAL tab for configuring the head on the home page. Could it be found somewhere else? I have searched all of the THEME OPTIONS and can’t find it anywhere. Thanks!
Sorry, what I meant was the “Homepage” tab.
Sorry to be so difficult, but the “Homepage” tab doesn’t contain any way to change this Head either. It contains spaces to change the info for bride and the groom, but not the head “About the Couple”. I really need to change the Head because it is a party for one person.
Sorry I miss-understood your question. To change the text simply open /the-wedding/includes/the-couple.php and the find this code:
<h2 class="title"><?php _e('About the Couple', 'warrior'); ?>
You can replace “About the Couple” to any text you want.
Thanks! There was a glitch in my child theme that was preventing this change. When I changed the main theme files, it worked perfectly. Thanks for the quick help!
No problem, glad we could help.
quick and probably easy question. How do i remove the “Powered by WordPress. Designed by ThemeWarrior” part on the lower right corner of the pages.
Open /the-wedding/footer.php file and remove this code:
<p><?php _e('Powered by', 'warrior'); ?> <a href="http://wordpress.org"><?php _e('WordPress', 'warrior'); ?></a>. <?php _e('Designed by' ,'warrior'); ?> <a href="http://www.themewarrior.com"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_url') ?>/images/logo-themewarrior.png" alt="<?php _e('Premium WordPress Themes', 'warrior'); ?>" title="<?php _e('Premium WordPress Themes', 'warrior'); ?>" /></a></p>
I must say I like the template but I having a problems with the RSVP it is asking question in Chrome , Safari if I want to proceed without any way of processing. Any ideas. It works in IE 8,9 and 10.
What do you mean by RSVP is asking question? Can you provide more info on this?
Hello, I would like to translate the wedding yogi & imel in French as:
Wedding Yogi & imel. how to do this?
also translate the countdown in French.
Hello, I would like to translate the wedding yogi & imel in French as: Wedding Yogi & imel. how to do this? also translate the countdown in French.
The theme already comes with a .po file located in /the-wedding/lang/ folder. You need to duplicate en_US.po file and rename it into fr_FR.po file and start manually translating each word in the file into French using a text editor.
Then open /wp-config.php located in your WordPress root directory and fine this code:
define ('WPLANG', '');
and change it into:
define ('WPLANG', 'fr_FR');
For translating the countdown, please refer to the FAQ in http://themeforest.net/item/the-wedding-elegant-wedding-wordpress-theme/2475860/support
