1. I bought your Atlantica theme at the release time because I like it very much but never use it (my fault). It’s nice that you came back with improved stuff.
2. But I also bought the Airmail template and really wanted to use it, even though it had/has some bugs. Maybe it will get a fix, as I never use it and never ask TF for a refund.
3. So what’s up with the “new line of products”? Any inside info you can share at he moment?
Costin
1. Thanks! A lot of people liked Atlantica and two weeks ago I released a “tentatively” final update for it that allows it to be compatible with WP3 .0; this theme is built with the same design mentality, but a completely different and cleaner approach to coding. Bottom line: I felt like the design style deserved an overhaul so that users of the old theme could get a healthy upgrade that truly embraces 3.0 as well as some brand new design tricks like multi-column support and Cufon, shortcodes, etc.
2. We actually do have a few fixes on Airmail coming soon – there’s been a lot of discussion behind the scenes on it.
3. I took nearly 3 months off to get married and handle some “life” stuff, so I’ve been stockpiling a bunch of new original theme designs behind the scenes that should start to trickle out in October. There’s no real secret information beyond that

+4 morea very nice template. the design seems just…perfect. some nice photos as well – seems like you are a very happy man now
Thanks Bebel – glad you like the new design
Yeah it resembles Atlantica but as you said the back end and the way it works has been much more improved.
It’s your style of design and many people like it, hence your sales. Look at Kreisi, he most certainly has a certain style and all his themes resemble in one way or another, doesn’t stop them selling!
I think you have done a great job here and it has definitely inspired me for my current theme in the making.
Good job, and also well done on the screencast.
Thanks steve
Hello,
Excellent theme! I´m fairly new to WP and I have a question regarding images in galleries and blogs… do they all have to be the same fixed size or can they be different?
Regards!
It depends on what gallery you’re using – the project galleries have a somewhat fixed size to make things uniform – the classic photo galleries will take images of any size and display them
Now – you can always change the default size inside the project galleries if you want, it just takes a couple changes in the stylesheet.
Cheers! Brandon
Love it. I’ve bookmarked it to buy. I just updated my site last week with a template from themeforest but this will be used in the near future. It would be good to see a Twitter follower counter.
Cheers! Good luck with the sales!
That’s excellent – thanks a bunch t4!
Hi, This looks great – just a few questions:
Can the blog in this be set to full width by default?
How much customization is possible in the menus? It may be just the size but my cursor didn’t seem to want to stay on the secondary menu and I had to try a few times each time I was navigating – it would disappear before I had clicked.
J.
Hi Phoenicdoula,
1. Yep – you can make the blog full-width – there’s already the “grid view” that you can use, but it’d be super simple to make the standard list view a full-width version as well.
2. There’s a ton of customization possible in the menus – You can actually just set the delay to be any time you want (right now it’s zero) so that it’s super simple to find the nav. I just adjusted it to be a little higher than zero – try it again and let me know if that helps
Cheers! Brandon
Thanks so much! Can you explain what ‘super simple’ means ?
Would it be a CSS fix, or is there an option for that?
Thanks so much for your quick (and positive) reply!
It’d essentially entail just removing the “get_sidebar” line from the blog template (to remove the sidebar), and then adding a single css class (.wide) to the main column (to make it full width).
Hi I just bought your amazing theme and I have a question.
I’m new to wordpress so please excuse me if this is a really basic question…
Can I make the latest blog post my home page? How would I go about doing that?
Thanks, Fitz
Heya Fitz,
You can use a “static page” as the homepage if you want by using the Settings > Reading panel. Right now it’s setup to use a bunch of blog posts as the homepage – just use the Themeology Admin Panel to adjust the number and category
If you want to use an entire blog post, it’ll take a little extra customization to the index.php page.
Make sure you check out the theme Installation Instructions for more details.
Cheers! Brandon
Seems to break WP eCommerce functionality e.g.
jQuery("form.product_form").livequeryLikely due to how jQuery is being included?
It’s possible – there are a ton of third party plugins out there (over 10k), so it’s hard to really build with each one in mind even though I did run quite a few tests. I know WP Commerce is a big one though, so I’ll check it out.
If it is a jQuery conflict, you can tinker with the loading methods in header.php in case you want to poke your nose in there.

+2 moreLove it, very impressive.
Great theme. I am having a lot of fun customizing it.
I noticed that when I go to click on “more articles” it directs me to my about page. Can you tell me what is wrong and how to fix it?
I can’t figure out where the problems lies. Maybe just in the code?
Inside the Themeology options page, it’s located under the “Homepage BlogSpace Options” – just set the Blog Page ID to be your blog page (the page that you have that uses the Blog template).
Cheers! Brandon
I’m loving the theme! One question I have is how do I set up the slider to use images from a gallery instead of a blog post? Thanks.
Hi Haydiz,
Unfortunately this isn’t how the slider works at the moment. It’s been built specifically to draw from Featured Blog Posts, not from a particular gallery. If you wanted, what you could do is hard-code the slider images located inside the “homepage_conditional.php” file instead of drawing from the Blog; another alternative is to just have the slider blog posts not link back to the posts… so you’d effectively have a couple “Slide Posts” that have no blog content but just act as Holders for each slide.
Once you look into galleries instead of posts, you also have the added complexity of not being able to manage the details on each slide besides an image (like the URL , lightbox, caption, etc.). Ultimately, the way its built now is about the simplest way it gets as far as WordPress as we know it goes.
I hope that explanation helps clarify the matter
Cheers! Brandon
I’ve bookmarked this theme for puchase soon…Love it, really simple, nice functions and loads of customisability!! Great work
Thanks Chris!
Quick question, did the install of the theme on a fresh Wordpress Install locally. After installing the theme, the “sidebars” option appears in the Appearance menu as indicated in the documentation, however the href attribute for the link is blank, and thus cannot access it… Any help? Have reinstalled in twice and no love.
Heya Oddity,
I’m a bit confused – which HREF tag are you referring to? What part of the documentation are ya referencing? I’ll be more than happy to help out, I’m sure I’m just misunderstanding your question.
The sidebars work in this order:
1) All pages that use sidebars use the Default Sidebar (Appearance > Widgets) by default. 2) If you’ve created a custom sidebar (from the Appearance > Sidebars) panel, you can load it on a per-page or per-post basis using the Sidebars panel inside each individual post or page.
Cheers! Brandon

a couple of quick questions…
is it possible to have two blog areas? can they each be password protected?
and is it possible to move through previous posts easily? i have something like over 1,000 posts and i need something like a yearly/monthly archive.
i’m using atlantica now and i’m wondering if i should switch over to this beauty.
k
Hi Koh,
Yes – you can have 2 blog areas – each blog page allows you to specify a particular category if you want, so that’s the easiest way to separate two different blogs (using Category 1 and Category 2).
And yes, both can be password protected using the standard Private Password system in Wordpress.
Yes, it’s easy to move through previous posts easily – you can use standard pagination or use one of the many free Archive plugins available for WP
Finally – I built this with Atlantica users in mind, so you’ll notice that a lot of the tricky parts of Atlantica (managing the slider galleries, etc.) have been smoothed out in Themeology.
Cheers! Brandon
One more question. On the blog it has a little bar that says “Featuring a complete blog solution. Perfect for bloggers, businesses, and creatives!”
Can I change the text and background to something else or just get rid of it completely?
Absolutely! That is what’s called a “page caption” and you can add/edit/remove it from any page on the entire theme

+8 moreHi everyone! I just wanted to say:
1) Thanks for the overwhelmingly positive feedback here – I really hope you guys/gals enjoy the theme as I definitely put some extra elbow-grease into the coding so it’d work as smoothly as possible
2) If anyone happens to need support or has a question, you can post it here, or preferably at the dedicated support forum: http://support.makedesignnotwar.com where I have myself and a few helpers answering questions.

Really great job Brandon… You explained well. I have to mention that even if you bring ideas from older projects and improved them, they where original your ideas. So, keep up the good work! I’m anxious to see what is next.

+1 moreThis is a really awesome theme. Good luck with sales! And just thought I’d share a little tidbit with ya. On your shortcodes page where you’re showing off the different shortcodes, you can write them on your WP post in the HTML tab like this so they don’t actually run and you don’t have to explain about the “{”
Brandon,
Thanks for the help…Although, I need your help again. At some point after deleting the caption, under blog the previous posts link disappeared. How can I get it back?
BTW . This theme is really great. You did a fantastic job!
I just downloaded this theme and so far I love it. My understanding of HTML and CSS is basic, so I’m curious how advanced it would be to change the size of the slider so as to incorporate other sizes of photos? I have firebug and am knowledgeable about how to change html and css. I experimented with just changed the dimensions of the slider in css, but as I expected, that was not enough.
Any suggestions?
