I still have no idea how to make the pages created show up in the actual navigation bar. Where do I go in the backend to make it show?

Parallelus

WP Admin: Appearance > Menus

You need to create a menu in that area, then in the box on the top left of that page assign the menu to the theme location.

Hi, for some reason some of the right hand side columns slide to the bottom of the page, in some of the pages on the site, example: http://mywordpressdemo.com/the-costa-loreto-development-opportunity/

That is not the case in all pages, example: http://mywordpressdemo.com/category/listings/

How can I fix the column, or how can I prevent that from happening?

Thanks,

Beatriz

Looked OK to me. Is this happening in a specific browser?

Usually when this happens it’s because of the content. An open HTML tag or other content specific issue.

Parallelus

It’s not a problem with the theme, it’s your content causing the overflow. Try editing and double checking your content for errors.

Where in the theme do I add the portfolio images that show up in the lightbox?

I have already created the categories/portfolio pages and then linked them to the pages where I want the portfolios to show up – but I dont see where to upload the actual images that go in the portfolio columns. How do I do this?

Thanks,

Ashley

You can FTP them to your server or upload them through the Media area of the WordPress admin.

Not sure if it’s me, but the slider does not show up on the Home Page, even after I have added several images. I am using full image URLs too.

Hi, I love the theme and have great success in setting up my site until this weekend when I moved it from /wordpress/ directory to my root directory. Everything works great except that I can no longer upload images or plug ins and my timthumb file is not resizing images. My web site is www.presleytours.com. I know this is technically not an issue with your theme but I’m wondering if you have run into this issue and have any comments/solutions to share. Thank you for your time.

Parallelus

This is usually a permissions issue. Try reviewing this information on moving WP on your server. It may have details on the security settings or this type of error.

I cannot seem to get the slide show to work. it will display one picture, but will not cycle though the other three I have loaded. the options to change slideshow setting seem to be pretty straight forward, so I’m not sure what I am missing. The links I have for the images do show up when I paste them in a browser.

thanks for any help

Robin

Without seeing your site I can only guess, but my guess is you have a JavaScript error on the page and it’s probably being caused by a plugin. Try disabling plugins and see if it fixes the problem.

Got a weird issue with this theme that showed up recently. If I view the the site in any browser on Windows 7, it looks great. However, when I view it in Safari on a Macbook Pro with OSX Lion, I get the following issue when hovering over a menu item.

http://www.avenuepawnkc.com/screen.png

My website is http://www.avenuepawnkc.com. Any assistance on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and great work!

Parallelus

I’m sorry, I couldn’t see the problem. There isn’t an image showing from the first link you provided.

Sorry about that, had hot-link protecton active on my server. Try it now.

I absolutely love this theme and hopefull have only one question…

I have uploaded the images and posted the URL to each blog/portfolio to show up in the list of blogs…but the images are still not showing up in the lightbox however once you click the post the image is working there. I worked with my hosting company and we made sure everything was set to 777 and that the PHP -5 and the GD-Library were properly installed. Am I missing something?

Thank You.

Try updating TimThumb by downloading the latest version here:

http://timthumb.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/timthumb.php

(right click, save link as…, “timthumb.php”)

After downloading the new file go to your theme folder and replace the old file “includes/timthumb.php” with the new one.

Is there a way to change the background color of the “area of content”. By default it is a white background, can I change that to black?

Thank You!

Parallelus

It’s part of the skinning the theme process. You could just edit it from the CSS but if you go through the steps of skinning the theme it will cover a more complete color change process. Check the documentation for details and a step by step outline.

andrewbrockenbush

Ok so I reskinned and made the new CSS file with the “find and replace” for my images and selected that as my custom style, but the theme turned back into the purple style background even though I based the CSS file off the original theme I liked. I love everything about the style-skin-4 except I need the background area of pages to be black? Am I doing something wrong in the reskinning process or is there just a quick way to change the “pages” background of skin 4 with the color black that might make it easier?

Here is the current site again…

http://www.bluebonnetparanormalresearch.com

Just to make sure I’m explaining well the entire gradient background is great but the “White” portion of the page where you read content I would like black.

Thanks for all of your help!

Parallelus

“style-skin-4.css” on line 7:

#MainPage { border-color: #FFF; background: #F6F5FA; }

Change that background to ”#FFF”

When I try to add a shortcode (clicking the ’//’) I am getting this error, and there are no shortcodes showing in the drop down list, please advise

please see the link below http://www.njsexecutive.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Picture-89.png
Parallelus

If you have a plugin installed that adds shortcodes this can sometimes happen. Add this to line 32 of “theme_admin/includes/editor/popup-page.php”

This may solve the problem:

if ( is_array($theme_sc_value)) continue;
if( preg_match('/theme/', $theme_sc_value) ) {

Overwrite the current line “if( preg_match('/theme/', $theme_sc_value) ) {” with the code above.

I have a few questions that I need detailed answers to, I’ve looked all through the template and the guide and can’t seem to figure the following out:

1.) How do you make the featured content images open up into a lightbox on the homepage? (and what size are the featured content images supposed to be to make them look normal in the thumbnail and when they expand into the lightbox?)

2.) Where and how do I activate the portfolio section, I see it in the theme area, but where do I upload the photos to go into the portfolio areas, and how do I assign those portfolio pieces to certain pages?

3.) On the homepage, when I entered text in the “Right Showcase” and “Left Showcase” it doesnt keep the text big like it shows on those text holders, how do I type in my own text but make it show in the same font as the “Right and Left Showcase” text?

4.) Why is it that when I put things in the footer they expand out and below where the footer ends? Is there a way to fix this?

Please provide detailed, step by step answers to these questions, I’m lost!!! I really appreciate it!

Thanks,

ProctorCars

1. Add the text ”#popup” to the end of your link for the featured image to open in the lightbox. I think the lightbox uses 640×480 as it’s maximum size. The featured images thumbnail size is your choice unless you enable the option for “Use Image Containers” which in the text below the option states “Images will be forced to the size “160 * 108” if activated.”

2. The images can be uploaded where ever you choose. You can use the “Media” area of your admin to upload them for easy access. Copy the image path from the media information after uploading (found by opening an image to edit it’s information) and paste that into the custom image fields on a post in the category you plan to use as the source of your portfolio. Once you have your category populated with posts and image in the post custom image fields, create the reference in the theme options to the page to use to display the content and the category to use as the source. Make sure you do not change the template setting on the portfolio page you select. Leave it set to “default”.

3. Use heading tags H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6: <h3>My Showcase Title</h3>

4. The footer is not designed to expand. It’s a fixed height footer intended to show only 1 or 2 lines content.

After uploading my theme into WordPress this is the feedback that I got…

The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

Name Description Design Stylesheet is missing. HTML -Version Stylesheet is missing. WordPress Stylesheet is missing.

Any suggestions on what went wrong? Thanks.

You need to extract the theme from the ThemeForest files:

I’m sorry I didn’t have time to look through all the pages to see if this was addressed already, but does this theme support commenting on pages? I can get the comment box to appear on posts, but not on regular static pages for some reason…

Parallelus

You can do this by copying the function form “single.php” which calls the comment form, onto the page templates. Once you open the file and scroll to the end you’ll see the function. Can’t miss it :)

Thanks for the help…it made a world of difference. I still have a few questions I’m hoping you can also help with in detail…

1.) What is the name of that plugin on the live preview on the homepage that says…”Socialize Much”

2.) I’m still a little unsure about the portfolio, I know how to add the pictures into the media, and in the traject theme I added the portfolio sections, but Im not sure how to link the media URL to make them show as a portfolio piece. Also how do I create a two column portfolio? I’m super confused on how to get the portfolio working????

3.) Is there anyway to remove the “Traject Logo” so that there is no logo image on the top of the pages at all???

I think thats it for now! I really appreciate your help! :)

Thanks again!

Proctorcars

Parallelus

1. It’s not a plugin. See the FAQs for details:

http://themeforest.net/item/traject-wordpress-portfolio-and-business-theme/faq/116671

2. What do you mean “link the media URL ”? The first field is for your URL of either the full size image or the video path. Add that and the lightbox will automatically show the content in the popup when the portfolio item is clicked.

There is an option in the portfolio setup for “portrait” or “landscape”. Select “portrait” and it will be 2 columns. From that same location, select the category(s) to be the source of your portfolio and the page where you want the portfolio to show. Add a link in your menu to the selected page and the portfolio will appear. Be sure not to change the “Template” setting on the chosen page. It needs to be set to the “Default” setting or it won’t show your portfolio.

3. Enter this as your logo image:

/wp-content/themes/parallelus-traject/images/spacer.gif

You may have to adjust that path if you don’t have WP installed in the root of your domain or you changed the theme’s folder name.
