Hi can you help me with this?

http://bradblaze.com.au/category/corporate-entertainment/

the post image is not showing.. even i put the image link in “Blog Header Image”

what wordpress version is this theme supported?

thanks,

Parallelus

Looks like a permissions issue. When I access the image link directly I get an error message for the cache folder either not existing or TimThumb not having permissions to create it:

http://bradblaze.com.au/wp-content/themes/parallelus-traject/includes/timthumb.php?src=/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/111.jpg&w=593&h=199&zc=1

Check the documentation for details on how to setup the permissions.

Hi,

Great theme, one of the best here, no doubt! Quick question, where do I change the text “home” in the menu, in what file? thanks!

Parallelus

Line 287 of “header.php” is what you will be needing to change.

Thanks.

I’m having a similar, but not the exact, problem as mojohn88. My portfolio page shows correctly pulls 2 posts in portrait mode and lists them, but when ‘more info’ is clicked the image doesn’t show in the full post and not even the placeholder just the full text, Is this a setting issue or do I have to manually insert the image into the post?

Thanks

Parallelus

The images shown on the content pages and full posts are added using shortcodes. This allows you the option to have the image or not and at the size you choose.

Thanks.

What social network plugin are you using for the homepage.

Great theme by the way.

Parallelus

I’m not using one. The icons on the home page are added by inserting the HTML code from the “HTML-Version” files included with the theme into a text widget.

How to put captcha in contact form provided in the theme?

Parallelus

You would need to edit the file “theme_admin/includes/shortcodes.php”. Update the shortcode for the contact form to have a CAPTCHA of your choosing and add the necessary code to the form.

Firstly, this is a fantastic theme. Soo much easier to work with than others I’ve played with. So thanks for that.

I do have a couple of questions though:

1. I too am having problems with the shortcodes for images displaying correctly. I can’t get an image to display using any of them. I end up with a description of the file eg ‘image description’ where the image should be OR I get a grey box, or a really long URL . Timthumb.php has 644 permissions and the cache folder is 777. Timthumb must be working to a degree as it displays correctly in the featured content, just not in any of the pages.

2. On the slider, how do I re-position the overlayed black panel containing the text? the overlaid panel sits over he left hand portion of the slideshow images and I’d like to sit it over the right side…

Cheers and thanks again for a great theme. Your instructions are super-clear.

Parallelus

Thanks for the comments.

1. I’ll need to see an example of the problem. Please email me a link to your site.

2. You can move the location of the overlay by editing the file “style-default.css”.

Hey there. Love the theme! Amazing, really.

Just one question for now. Is it possible to attach a style (small arrow gif) to the toggle content short code? (like the +/ icon in your demo)

Would this simply be modified in the CSS ?

Thanks again! -T

Parallelus

You could do it with a CSS background image, or you can add an image. Follow the example of the custom list items in the “style-default.css” file and apply the same effect to the titles for the FAQ ’s.

Hi there, I’ve installed the theme both by manually uploading the files, and having WordPress upload the ZIP automatically, and both times when I try to preview (or activate), I get a 500 Internal Server Error? I’m running the latest install of WordPress and other themes work fine… any suggestions?

Parallelus

Sorry to hear about the problem installing. Make sure you have the latest version if you downloaded it the first week or two. You can do this by going to the download page of your account and downloading the files again.

If you do have the most recent release, please email me access to your FTP and theme admin so I can test it and find out what’s going on. There was a problem with GoDaddy users on legacy servers because they use an older version of PHP , but that has been fixed in them most recent update. You could be having a similar issue but we won’t know for sure until we take a look.

Thanks.

How do i get the lower home page boxes set up like the sample?

Parallelus

The content on the home page of the demo was created using layout shortcodes.

great theme! If I buy would I be able to get a copy of the demo so I can just edit it the way I want. I love the home 2 as a product page.

Parallelus

I can send you a the content XML file exported from WordPress, but it will not give you the same site. Unfortunately, when you export this file from WordPress it only pulls the posts and pages (and other native WP content) but not the theme specific settings. So you would not get any of the custom setup including the portfolio pages, blog pages, slide shows or the home page slider with product boxe. If you still want the file email me and I can send it to you.

I seem to be having the same problem with the images for short codes displaying correctly just as johnconn has including the file description, grey box etc. It’s the same posts that are pulled correctly into the portfolio page where the images are fine, but the shortcodes in the posts are not working properly.

I’mm interested in the solution to johnconn’s query.

Parallelus

The problem was folder permissions related. Your’s could be the same if this problem is happening everywhere with images. You can review the help document for information on the correct permission settings for TimThumb. If you are only having a problem with the shortcode’s and not other images including blog posts, it’s probably more specific to the image or the code being entered. If you would send me a link through my contact form (profile page) I’ll be happy to take a look.

Thanks.

You can remove the search by editing “header.php” in the theme folder.

Hi, I’m having a problem with the wp-pagenavi of your theme, It doesnt work when I click on the next pages, please help me to fix it, thank you very much.

Site with the pagenavi without working: http://tinyurl.com/2e6crp4

Parallelus

I tested the navigation and found it is only showing a problem on the “weblog” page of your site. When I did a search for “harvey” and tested the navigation it seemed to work in the search results. Is the page “weblog” customized in the code or from the WordPress admin in some way? I couldn’t identify which file in the theme was producing that output.

A couple things you can try to see if they may help:

1. Reduce the number of posts per page.

2. Turn off the custom permalinks and see if paging works using default settings.

If these have any result it may provide some insight into the reasons for the problem or a possible solution. You can email me through my account profile page if you like with additional information.

Thanks.

Quick pre-purchase question – the image of the open notebook on the wooden table that you use on the front page – is it included in the theme or could you tell me where I could get it? Its exactly what I am looking for style wise.

Thank you.

Hi,

The font replacement does not support special characters like ë, é, ï. Do you have a Vegur file which does fully support these characters?

Parallelus

The documentation contains detailed instructions on adding these characters.

Thanks.

I’m attempting to create/add a portfolio page to an existing page that has content on it; however, when it is added only the portfolio items are shown.

Is this possible to do?

“If you have content on the page selected to host your portfolio items, the content will be displayed before the portfolio items.” – from theme help

Great theme. Thanks again!

Parallelus

It should work adding content on the page before the portfolio items. I’ve tested this myself and verified the code is written to allow it. I’m sorry that it’s not working for you. I will need to see where it is happening so I can determine what is different.

Thanks.

Thanks for getting back so quickly!

I realized that all of my content was wrapped in layout [containers] and thought… hmm, what if I throw a piece of plain TEXT into the page… and Voila! The portfolio appears below.

Maybe the code is too ‘smooth’ for the PHP function? (sorry I’m noob)

Now my question is, how do I render the portfolio within the ‘default’ page layout? Currently, it gets rid of the custom sidebar I built for the page – and renders @ full width.

Very nice theme, I particularly like the way such a small number of options for populating the front page open so many possibilities, and the shortcodes are a real boon, I wish other developers would make more use of them.

Earlier in this thread you gave a very general answer to someone who wanted to use other media in the slideshow. I want to ask something more specific.

If an swf file is to be used…

Does this just require lines 369-386 of header.php to be replaced by the html for the flash file? Or is there another method for putting this into place?

Parallelus

I just emailed you some information.

Andy,

I’ve noticed that when I display a picture in the body text of a page/post, instead of wrapping the text around the image, it displays the image on the first line of the text. The previous theme I used automatically wrapped the text for me, is there some setting somewhere I need to adjust to get this to wrap the text for me automatically?

Parallelus

The images should wrap as long as the shortcode is on the same starting line as your text.

The way HTML works (and the WordPress editor creates it) if you add an image then a blank line before your text, it will create two different paragraphs (WordPress will) and the HTML is going to treat each item as separate elements. By adding the image to the same line as the text, it will be in a single paragraph and the text should wrap.

bobbybosler

But it IS on the same line. When I add it as a styled image, it works fine, but when I try to add it as a plain image or if I try to add it using the Wordpress built in image tool, it only shows up ont he same line as my text. Granted, it looks right in the editor view, but the published view is wrong. See one of the pages here: http://test.minutemenministries.org/?page_id=4.

Also, view all the “Ministries” pages to see similar phenomena.

Andy, having established that I am using a purchased (by my client) copy of your theme, I have a couple more questions.

First, the php for blog pages seems to mean that every post has to have an image or get the grey box or placeholder. Is there really no way to have posts without an image? Or have I missed something very basic?

Second, I too am getting a formatting error with the footer, the background image and colour do not extend with the container div, producing some very odd box shapes. Also, when the contact widget is placed into the footer, the title appears in a very dark colour and is almost invisible and it doesn’t align with the content, in this case the phone number.

The site in question is:

Chris,

I’m happy to help. If you could please ask Celia to contact me through my profile page so I can verify the purchase and she can confirm you are her developer.

Thanks.
