Yes, exactly. It’s designed for Community Edition (free version).

Does this work with PayPal through Magento.

Yes, it works with PayPal and any other payment gateways supported in Magento.

Is the Magento and theme hard to install and manage / add products?</srtong>

The Magento theme is a bit more time consuming to install than a WP theme but if you follow our instructions it’s pretty straight forward. And of course we’re here to help if you need it. Adding categories, attribute sets, attributes and products are pretty easy with Magento. Credit card stuff is very easy to setup in Magento as you’re simply required to enter your payment gateway credentials.

I don’t see the nav bar. How do I get this to show up?

Please make sure your categories are listed under Default/Root category. That’s a common thing to happen and it’ll cause your categories to not show up in navigation.

I created the categories under root and its still not showing up.

That may happen in case the Default/Root category isn’t specified for your Store (Admin / System / Manage Stores). You can also try to clear the Magento cache.

The products are not showing up.

Please make sure that product is:
  • Visible in Catalog and Enabled
  • Has a stock Quantity and is In Stock
  • Assigned to a category

Is there a certain way I have to add products and categories on magento?

Here is a good documentation on how to set up categories and products.

When I am in a category there is no sidebar.

Please make sure your categories are anchored (“Is Anchor” → “Yes”). This will allow Magento to display the layered navigation: http://www.magentocommerce.com/knowledge-base/entry/how-does-layered-navigation-work/

When text is copied and pasted in the description section of adding a new product, on the main site it shows html coding, how can this be avoided?

It may happen if you’re pasting the code in the WYSIWYG mode. Try to turn it off (“Show / Hide Editor” button) and paste the code again, it should work.

Please go to Magento Admin / CMS / Pages, it’s there by default. The Contacts page isn’t part of any CMS page, so you can’t change it via Magento admin.

On product detail page can the image be set to larger size?

Sure, there is a way to increase the size of the main image. It will require either a simple modification of product template or a few additional CSS changes (depending on image dimensions you’re about to set).

There is no need to purchase the Enterprise version of Magento, you can simply download the Community Edition and it will perfectly work with our theme.

You’ll need a good hosting for Magento because Magento has strict hosting requirements. Here is the list of Magento Web Hosting Providers which may help you with Magento installation. Or simply send us a message and we’ll help you with that.

On the products page, only the size drop down is available, is it possible to add extra buyers options such as Quantity?

Sure, that’s pretty easy. Here is an example of updated product page: http://tribeca.worryfreelabs.com/mens/classic/tuxedo-blazer.html

Are the ‘Sale Items’ and ‘Best Sellers’ blocks on the homepage being pulled from the db? Or is that just in there for show? So do they dynamically pull from entries that are flagged as “sale” or items that sell the most? Or are the links hardcoded in the CMS homepage?

These blocks are the part of the CMS homepage. We’ll surely send you a copy of guide which explains how to set it up. The links are hardcoded in the CMS homepage.

Is there any way to replace one of the homepage static blocks? For instance, replace the ‘Sale Items’ block with a twitter update?

Yes, definitely. You can change or replace any block on the homepage via CMS editor. If you want to include a twitter update you’ll need either a module for Magento or a simple CSS/Javascript solution that will fetch the latest tweets for you. You can easily do that if you’re proficient with JavaScript and CSS, and more importantly Magento.

Are you able to add pages to your nav bar? The reason I ask, I require a blog, and it would also be nice to have a link to the homepage.

Sure thing. You can add links to the top and bottom navigation bars. You may have to change the CSS a bit, depending on how you want to do it. But this is definitely possible.

I was wondering how the CMS works? Is it like Word Press where you can add and delete pages and add images?

Yes you can add, edit and delete cms pages and what are called static blocks of content. It’s not quite as easy as with Wordpress, but nothing really is as good as ole WP.

Do you have any ideas why my Navigation isn’t showing up? I’ve done some minimal customization via the CSS , but I haven’t seen the Nav since the original install.

That’s because you don’t have your categories listed under “default”. That’s a common thing to happen and it’ll cause your categories to not show up in navigation.

I’m unable to fix with Magento’s forum help is adding an image as my logo. I’ve successfully changed the “Logo Image Alt” setting to get my store name to show up, but when I set images/logo.png file in the “logo image src” it doesn’t show up.

Tribeca uses the text logo by default. If you want to use an image instead please modify the following file:

/app/design/frontend/default/tribeca/template/page/html/header.phtml

Find: <h1><a href="<?php echo $this->getUrl('') ?>" class="logo" title="<?php echo $this->getLogoAlt() ?>"><?php echo $this?>getLogoAlt() ?></a></h1>

Replace with: <h1><a href="<?php echo $this->getUrl('') ?>" class="logo" title="<?php echo $this->getLogoAlt() ?>"><img src="<?php echo $this->getLogoSrc() ?>" alt="<?php echo $this->getLogoAlt() ?>" /></a></h1>

That should do the trick.

Is there a limit to how many additional thumb images you can place underneath the main image on product pages?

There is no limit on how many additional thumbs you can place underneath the main image. The theme will automatically create new rows if necessary.

How do i get the ‘Shop by’ column on the product page?

Where do i change the breadcrumbs to ”>>” instead of the ”>” I have?

Open: /app/design/frontend/default/tribeca/template/page/html/breadcrumbs.phtml

Find: <span>» </span>

Replace with: <span>> </span>

Which files i need to change if i want to change the deafult product image/thumbnails size?

  • /app/design/frontend/default/tribeca/template/catalog/product/list.phtml (220 px)
  • /app/design/frontend/default/tribeca/template/catalog/product/view/media.phtml (375 px)

How hard is it to change the language on this template?

This is not hard at all. You can install a new language via Magento Connect.
