That :evil: hacker made sport of trymee. Of all the trouble-free themes we use on WP sites this is the only theme we’ve purchased. Shocked that our website was hacked through trymee theme by entry to a vulnerable upload file. We never received notification or a simple alert to upgrade. It would have saved so much heartache if we had been warned. We did configure license key, etc. BUT NO upgrade alerts. This is disappointing :(. What happened here?

Hi. Pity that you had to face with this issue. We beg your pardon for any inconveniences it have caused.

Actually we urgently emailed our customers who have ever contacted us before due to technical support or any other reason (as no other customers’ emails we had) about a security update back in late December.
Also there was a Support Forum notification, which can be found here.

If you follow all the appropriate instructions carefully and keep the theme up to date, be sure, your site is safe.
We did everything to make TryMee v. 1.3 as safe as possible and will continue taking steps on theme improvement further.
Now Envato has new notification feature – we will notify our customers via email every time the update will take place.

Hacked again after upgrading 30 days later. They deleted all Trymee php files and functions and killed all index.php across the site. WTF

Found 1.2 to 1.3 was broken in last update effort so renamed fresh 1.3, reinstalled and deleted old from server. Seems that old broken 1.2-1.3 effort might be the access point. Keep TryMee secure and fresh. It appears hackers are doing just that…[trying you] and please bring clean additional widgets to this template as well. I still luv this template and will fight for it!!!

Hey, nice theme. Finally got a chance to use it.

Followed all steps in the install instructions, but I’m getting this error when I activate it:

“Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() in ….wp-content/themes/trymee/theme/classes/protected-api.php on line 349”

Any ideas how to fix this?

Do you need your slider to be multilingual? If so, I can say only that qTranslate plugin can translate the content of your site, but doesn’t recognize your slider texts.

We haven’t tried to make our slider multilingual, you can only translate the site’s front end into your language. As far as I know multilingual plugins usually don’t affect sliders.

The pulldown navigation does not seem to work (well) on a couple of touch-devices I tested with. Including Windows 8 – IE10 (Metro) and Chrome on Android 4.1. (But it works fine on all iOS devices I checked) This is a rather big issue if you ask me.

OK, Indeed; formally I can’t complain about IE10. But I think this browser is not one to ignore.

I made a video of the Trymee demo Android 4.1 . I know this is made using a VM, which is not the same as an actual device. But I can assure you that in this case the VM acts the same as the actual Nexus 7 running Android 4.1 / Chrome I tested this with:

Oh, the Layouts and Shortcodes are not clickable – these are just empty buttons with dropdowns. Also I wonder does your menu look like the one from the video or appears as a single dropdown which is typical for the mobile devices?

What about your own site, have you tried to check how the navigation menu works there?

OK, true: “Layouts and Shortcodes are not clickable – these are just empty buttons with dropdowns”: but this brings me to another issue with the menu on Android. the sub-sub menu items of layouts/shortcodes should be reachable/clickable. which does not seem to be possible.

The sub-menu-item “typography” has no children, it just links to a page; but as you can see in my new video the item typography also doens not respond to clicks. http://www.screencast.com/t/1UeucmCU

The issues I experience with the menu are also true for the site I’m developing for my client, yes. Can’t Get Colored Blocks in correct position

Please help.. I have enabled the “Top Sidebar” and have the “CMSMS Colored Blocks” widget in that sidebar – yet it continues to not be butted up against the slider.

And please make sure colored blocks are placed within Colored Sidebar (not Top): http://screencast.com/t/LhnHgiD7 But Top Sidebar exact on page should be enabled, you did it correctly. Hi, when I use a mobile browser in my android or change the size of the browser windows in mi pc I see that de caption on the slider disapperar and it is a problem…is posible fix it?? Excuse me for my english, and congratulations for this great theme!

Sorry, but unfortunately slider captions are always hidden on smaller dimensions (the same you can observe on our demo preview) and this peculiarity cannot be fixed anyhow. Sorry again for all the inconveniences caused.

I’m interested in buying this theme but I noticed a glitch in the responsive design and I was curious if it was adressed.

When the 4 color squares start out they are side by side but after scaling down to mobile, and then back up they stay stacked 2×2.

Has this been addressed or is there a fix to get the it back to its original state?

Why can’t we update wordpress with your theme installed? What is wrong? Do more people struggle with this and when will it be fixed?

If you get some errors while trying to install WP updates please follow the instructions given in the thread. You might need to remove temporarily 103 line in functions.php

Hi. Thank you for your question.

The thing is that IE7 is an old browser version and not popular. The possibilities of this browser are not enough for contemporary web design needs. It does not support most of the animation effects, the scripts work with faults so the site looks messy.

You can see the browser usage stats here. Even less than 1%.
As you see, it’s irrelevant to support IE7 nowadays.

In fact there’s no way to implement this in theme options (i.e. Social Icons Manager). However there is one trick: you may use footer Custom HTML block instead (see the screenshot please) and paste there social icons with rel=”nofollow”.

Hi There

I’ve got three quick questions:

1. I’m trying to upgrade Wordpress to 3.5.2 but it will not let me. I’ve read on some Forums that this may be a TryMee theme issue. Is anyone out there experiencing the same thing?

2. I also know that TryMee has upgraded but this upgrade is not showing up on my dashboard.

3. Is it possible to turn off the subtitle and text section in the slider caption section? I only want the title and button showing in some of my slides.

To get access to the forum you should enter a valid purchase code.
Please, use Item Purchase Code as-is, with all hyphens. You can find the code in this file at “Downolads” tab on your Envato account – see the screenshot.

You see, TryMee does not update automatically. One should update it manually.
Your current theme version is 1.2.1, while it should be 1.3.1.
To update the theme, please, follow to your Downloads tab on Themeforest and click “download” to get the fresh theme archive. Then unzip it and follow to Fix_1.3.1 and open readme.txt, you’ll find the instruction on update there. Basically you should replace some files at your server. Copy “trymee” folder from Fix 1.3.2 to your server “wp-content/themes/” and replace existing files.
But please, make a backup beforehand – just in case. If you have made some code changes in style.css or any other files, the update can harm your customization. You should copy changed code to the new file.

The reason of the issue concerns incompatibility of the previous theme versions with WordPress 3.6. We kindly advise you to update the theme to the latest version.

Just please make sure to download the newest archive from themeforest, find there README in Fixes folder and follow the instructions carefully.

You’ll need to replace several of the existing files with the new ones from Fixes folder. It is also highly important that you backup all your previous files before substituting them to avoid possible issues with your data.

Also, if you have not added any content yet, you can simply delete the previous install and install the one in the latest download – it already contais all the needed alterations.

Usually the issue you are having occurs when colored blocks are enabled incorrectly. Please note, that CMSMS – Colored Blocks widget has to be inserted to Colored Sidebar. Also, make sure you use Top Sidebar on a page, where you need these block to be inserted. Please see the screenshot

Hi again!

If you face problems with uploading a logo, you can do this another way. Please use Media: see the screenshot. Just add you logo image. Then copy its url and paste it to the Your Custom Logo field. Don’t click “upload”, just save changes.

Hi there! Great theme and i nearly there to finish. I having trouble in not receiving email from contact form. I have set up a contact form to send me a test email, and its not working. I have check all set up and nothing appear wrong. Can you give some help in setting this up properly? What i have done: went to contact page/ insert contact form/ select form/ inform my email. All set, save page and fill form, send it and … nothing …

In fact there are several reasons for why this can be happening. At first, please make sure to click all the form field buttoms that appear after you add fileds to your form, do this before saving the form – see the screenshot . Also, please disable all the plugins you have to see if one of them can be affecting this (often this is a reason).

If the problem persists please contact your hosting provider, as the server might not support a protocol our conact form uses. Our Contact Form uses POP3 or SMTP protocol. Some servers do not support this. Should the issue be in that, you can use a Contact Form 7 to create a form, it is a third-party plugin, but it is compatible with TryMee theme, and it uses another protocol, so there should be no problems using it.
