Can ANYONE help me with this? I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the portfolio to work. The docs really dont say how to post the pic specifically (is there a tag to add to a pic?), or where the pic should be posted to (the docs mention setting up a page for the portfolio, but also mention categories (?) which generally go with blog posts so am I posting pics to a blog or what??).
Picking “Portfolio” and “Categories” from the options does nothing at all.
thanks miles
UGH Nevermind! I think i figured it out.
Hi,
All of the images in my featured slider need to have the same background. Unfortunately, it looks a bit funny when the images fade in and out…since the background is the same, I would like for the background to remain static while the other content fades in and out.
This could be accomplished one of two ways:
1) Changing the fade out/fade in to a crossfade. Is this possible?
2) By putting a static background behind the featured image area. I think this would replace the “slice” image that is already there. But I have not had any luck setting it up this way. Can you advise the code I would need to have to put a static background image behind the featured slider?
Thanks,
Mark
easier would be to edit the background: the static background is an image slice applied to #featured in style1/2/3/4/5.css and to the #main class.
i would recommend to edit these classes/images
I noticed that if someone is running at a lower screen resolution, the bottom 3 columns are too far down the page (they may not scroll). is there are way to changed the height so that the elements are a bit smaller?
you can of course change the height of any element in the style.css file =)
however people with low resolution screens are used to scroll, so i dont know if its worth the effort
Also, I can’t open many (most) of the PSD files…”not a valid Photoshop document”.
Using Photoshop CS on Windows.
Never mind, PSD issue resolved.
The corner-right IE fix doesn’t seem to be working in the transparent version (at the top right of the featured image area). The corner is square in FireFox, and in IE there is a missing image icon.
works perfectly fine if i take a look at my preview. maybe you deleted/edited the files by accident?
I am using the dark version of this theme, and edited bg_sidebar.png so the main text/content area on the posts and pages would be white.
I am trying to figure out how to get the text black, but having trouble. I managed to change the #inner_content to 000000, which changed the title from light grey to black, but can’t figure out how to get the main text black. Test site: http://www.discbreaks.com
Great theme by the way, thanks in advance.
depending on the theme color informations are stored in the style(number).css
if you are using the dark version all color is stored in style2.css
I changed the body color to 000000 in style2.css, but that also changed the text color for the three blocks at the bottom of the home page to black.
How can I just change the color for text on pages and posts, and keep the white text on the homepage blocks?
Thanks again.
is it possible to have widgets on the portfolio page. The live demo just shows thumbnails wall to wall. I would like to make sure adding the “catagories” widget is possible before purchase. Thanks!
ANYONE ?
the portfolio supports widgets but only the bottom row can be used to show them, the other portfolio items are normal posts with images
i would love this theme for a project im working on, but i really need to have a full width page for some of the pages. can you work this into a future release or customize it for me at a cost? reply here or twitter @nash_h
hi nashh, unfortunatley I do not have the time to do cusomizations and because of the lack of time I am also not planning to add this during the next weeks. however the cusomization would only need html and css skills, i bet you can find someone here who can do this for you
do you have any recommendations for this job?
no, but you can contact any other author here that got a decent amount of sales, they all know what they are doing
Great Theme! I’m really impressed with the documentation as well. Good Job!
I received the error message below
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/j/o/s/joshbraun/html/wp-content/themes/twicet/index.php on line 87
Here’s what I’m trying to do:
1) Have 3 images rotate on the home page WITHOUT them showing up as blog posts.
2) I got this message when I tried to exclude categories from the blog options page.
Very very great theme. Continue on this style, original. Is it possible, in the portfolio section, changing images of video and read the pop up?
Thanks for this work.
well this is possible but you would need to modify the output of some custom fields value in the portfollio template file
Regarding the corner-right-IE-fix issue:
EDITED : May have identified cause. Never mind.
Regarding a static background image, I thought things worked as you described. However I’ve tweaked all the CSS I know how to tweak, and I can’t get the results I need.
Let’s say that I want to have a static background consisting of two slices (the top slice for the #main area, and the bottom slice for the #featured area)...I think that’s how it should work, right?
If my slices are called:
top-slice.jpg bottom-slice.jpg
...and I upload them to the appropriate images folder for the skin I’m using, how would I need to modify the CSS for the background to appear?
Thanks,
Mark
you have to apply one of these images to the div with id “main” in style1.css (or if you are not using the basic theme, style2,3,4 or 5 depending on the style you have choosen)
the bottom slice must be added to the div with the id #featured, again in style1.css.
just replace the image names of the currentbackgound with your image names
Tried installing the file but receiving these errors:

hello, did you try an automatic installation of did you upload it via ftp? i would recommend to do the later and only upload the folder with the name “twicet” to your themes folder (twicet has to be unzipped in this case)
Something went wrong with the unzipping. I then unzipped file by file and it worked fine. Thanks for the response!
thank you for the great theme, from a wordpress newbie
I see some people have trouble with the thumbnails showing in the slider, im pretty sure its a caching issue as i too came across this issue but after a hard refresh the thumbnails showed. i tested linking to images outside of my installation (flickr, picasa) and the thumbnails would not show, but referencing directly from my wp installation they worked again, hope it helps anyone. peace
thanks a lot dude
Wondering if you can have two separate portfolio pages.
I’m currently using the portfolio page for “case studies”.
I’d also like to use one for “partners” so I can make a post for each different partner that autogenerates thumbnails on the “partners” page.
Basically, I’d like to duplicate the functionality of the portfolio page. Is that possible/easy?
possible yes, easy … well maybe =)
you would have to copy the template_portfolio.php file, rename it and also rename it in the beginning of the file so you can choose it as a different page template. then you would have to edit the query_post funtion inside the file to query a category of your choice.
this isnt too hard if you have some wordpress knowledge =)
Hi Again,
I’ve moved the menu to the right. Now I want to make the sublevel drop-down menu items appear to the left insted of the right. What should I tweak to do this?
Thanks,
Mark
change the foloowing in style.php:
modify: #top #nav li ul ul
to #top #nav li ul ul { left:-174px; top:0; }
Hi Quick question, i want the portfolio thumbnail to be cropped from the left instead of middle is there somewhere i can change this? cheers
i am not sure about it. the resizing script was released here: http://www.darrenhoyt.com/2008/04/02/timthumb-php-script-released/
maybe you can find some information on this topic there or ask the author of the script directly
