Hi Saura,
Just purchased your theme today, and almost finished updating my website. Looking good, thank you!
Some things I notice:
1) If I add an image (of, say, 1024px wide) to a blog post and I ‘feature’ it, the thumb on the blog overview page is just a small corner of my photo. Is there a way to resize it? Other solution is to upload a thumbnail-size pic (250px, my estimate), but that will also be shown in a gallery then, off course. Or am I doing something wrong?
2) When using [dropcap] at the first letter of a blog post, the first letter isn’t shown on the blog overview page. Minor bug?
For the rest, great theme, the work is mainly in updating from the old one, your documentation is very clear, thanks!
Hello ErikvanRosmalen,
Thanks for purchasing the theme and providing kind feedback.
1. It will be required to regenerate thumbnails on your site. All media images that were uploaded ‘before’ the theme was installed do not get re-sized properly. New uploaded images will appear in correct size. But for old ones, it will be required to re-generate thumbnails. After that, it will appear correctly across all sections of site. (This is also mentioned in FAQ of documentation).
2. On blog overview, we are showing excerpt of post content. WordPress excerpt trims out all HTML or Short codes, and only returns plain text. Even if you use a link on first line, it will be trimmed out.
Kindly let me know if you have more questions. I would be glad to help.
Regards
Hello and good morning,
Thanks for your swift reply! I must’ve missed that part about regenerating in the documentation, sorry. I thought it was part of the theme, but I’ve already downloaded and used the plugin and it works great, thanks!
About the excerpt-functionality: I thought so. I’ll use the dropcaps for my pages, no problem
So far, no questions, the site is live and looks great. Many thanks!
If you’d like to see your work showing my work, check: http://www.erikvanrosmalen.comThanks and have a nice day!
Hello ErikvanRosmalen,
That’s nice implementation on the site. I wish you success for the site and work.
Regards
Thank you! So far I’ve received just compliments, so that’s great.
One thing I’m noticing is that the contact form can always be submitted, even when no e-mail or name are filled in. They’re not sent, but there’s no error message either. Maybe something I overlooked or did wrong when translating the messages in the php-file?
(Btw, at the moment I unfortunately only have I-Ex 8 at my disposal, that might cause the issue as well…)
Hello ErikvanRosmalen,
The contact form uses JavaScript and php validation. If JavaScript is enabled on your browser and you click on send button without filling forms, it will show a red border across from fields. Error messages are not displayed, but only red border.
If JS is disabled, it will still show red border through php validation.

Thanks, problem was indeed caused by the browser used, on all other browsers it works just fine. Everything works fine now by the way.
Just some troubles with loading of my about-page (www.erikvanrosmalen.com/erik), takes quite long. But I think that might be caused by something else.
Again many thanks for your assistance, great work, I’m really up-to-date now!
Regards, Erik
Hello Erik,
I just checked the page. Right now it loaded at normal speed. In source code, everything seems fine. There is no video or script which might cause this delay. If you are on shared hosting, it may work slow for WordPress sometimes.

Absolutely outstanding looking template
Absolutely perfectly well documented, but
unfortunately extremely complicated if not even almost impossible handling
Really frustrated about not being able to simply create in an easy understandable way menues and attach pictures just like that in categories.
Sorry about that, but I really love the template for it’s look but absolutely hate it at the same time for the useless handling about adding pictures.
The rest works perfectly fine but the main purpose for photographers, easily showing pictures is a pain in the neck.
Regards
Hello renand,
Thanks for purchasing the theme. I appreciate your honest feedback (both positive and negative).
Portfolio and blog templates use WordPress featured images attached to a post. All you need is create some posts, each with a featured image, and use these posts on any of the available templates by providing a category ID.
The documentation/index.html file may be helpful in getting started, and I am sur eyou have already gone through it. If you are finding any particular difficulty in setting up a Home page or Portfolio page, kindly send me your WP login and URL at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com. I will set up those pages.

Hi! I don’t want the Portfolio page launch pretty photo function, and just show the ‘direct link image’ in the browse , how can I do that? Thx!!!

Hello mrhopeland,
Thanks for purchasing the theme. Kindly send me a mail at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com. I will send you files with prettyPhoto removed from portfolio and blog thumbnails.

Hi SaurabhSharma,
Great Theme! I love it!
But…. I have troubles with the gallery.
Fist of all the Homepage looks perfect! When I click on one of the photo’s a gallery will appear. This is the exact type of gallery I also want on my pages under my portofolio page (drop down menu). I don’t prefer the lay out of de blog and portfolio page. Can i turn that off ? I don’t write articles, I only want to show photo’s. The gallery on my pages look good but when I click on one of them it will enlarge on the page and I can not click to the following photo.
A other problem that I have is that when I upload photo’s in the wordpress gallery also other photo’s that I did not select will appear. How can I solve that problem?
Thx!
Regards, Rita www.ritanaborn.nl
Hello Rita,
Thanks for the purchase and kind feedback.
Home page is using a “Portfolio” page template which shows post images in masonry grid style. Now there is a difference between images used on Home page and the ones used under Portfolio menu.
Home page images are being fetched from individual posts Whereas images on your portfolio pages are inserted using gallery short code. So if you create posts for those images, you can show those images in same way as on Home page by using the portfolio template.
Regarding photos appearing in gallery. Whenever you add a photo to a post using drag-and-drop, it is automatically attached to the post. You can unattach them by opening media library panel for that post and Choose Images ‘Uploaded to this post’. Inside this section, delete all unwanted images and close modal box.

Hi SaurabhSharma,
Still very, very happy with the theme, and receiving great feedback on my new website design, so many thanks again!
A minor problem I’m experiencing is when scheduling future blog posts. For some reason I get the error ‘Missed Schedule’. Time is stated as follows behind all my blog posts: http://pic.twitter.com/QSBV7cohnm
Pic is in dutch, but check the times all begin 16:1, 23:1, etc. I’ve tried changing time formatting, but no luck there.
Have you heard of this issue before? I’m using WP-version 3.5. I’m not sure if this can be caused by a theme or plugins, but maybe you’ve heard from other users?
Again, no major problem, but maybe it sounds familiar to you!
Hello ErikvanRosmalen,
I haven’t came across such issue before. But I can confirm we are not overriding any such functionality inside the theme. Post publish and schedule method is entirely controlled by WordPress. No matter which theme is installed, a “published” post is treated as published, because all this data is stored in database.
You can confirm by switching the theme to twentytwelve and schedule any post. I will further search if this is related to the theme. In theme, all we are doing is simply showing the publish date in posts. I can not be sure how that affects schedule time. But I will look into it.
Regards
Thanks SaurabhSharma,
You never hearing this before confirms for me it must be something else, not the theme. I’ll do some more research, could maybe be some plugin or something. I’ll let you know my findings as well!
