For anyone with support related question(s), please post them to the theme’s support forum.
In my effort to provide you with better support I’ve setup an independent Forum where all comments are searchable, you can upload images and insert code with code-highlighting, etc.

Can you give me the link again for dummy contents just like the original udesign website? I want to redo all over again. Now I can’t remember how I did before.
The reason I want to redo is…the revolution slider loads so slow compared to udesign website.
please read the comment above.
This is a great theme. Particular the support of the author (Andon).
The staff helped me a lot. I get quick answers on all my questions and they even fixed my problems, because I didn’t know how to do it.
they spend a lot of time in helping the users and improving the theme.
I never have worked with wordpress before, but I can make my own website now!
Thank you Amanda for your feedback, glad you like the theme and support we provide!
congratulations for your theme!
I ‘ve already purchased your theme for myself. I want to purchase it again for a client. Can I purchase it from my themeforest account? I’m asking because help support forum membership signup, asks for item purchase code. Is there any chance to lose lose my first purchase code? My profile will have two separate downloads of your theme?
Thank you for choosing the “U-Design” theme!
either you or your client can purchase it. You can purchase multiple licenses no problem, each purchase will give you its own unique purchase code. In some cases it’s best to have your client purchase their own copy especially if you’re not going to be maintaining the site for them in the future, that way they’ll have access to the theme’s updates in the future and not bug you for that.
I love this theme. One particular request: Is it compatible with the plugin qTranslate or equivalent I could use? So as to have my website in 2 or 3 languages. Thanks.
yes it is compatible with qTranslate, however you might want to check out the support forum, you’ll find there some good info on how to tweak certain things to get the most out of qTranslate and U-Design.

Thanks, I guess the plugin WPML may actually be better and is compatible too, isn’t it?
yes, it is, those both are and will require a bit of work on your part, the main difference b/n the two is that one is free and the other one paid.
Is there anywhere in the built in tools to tweak the breadcrumbs? We’ve changed a page name, but the breadcrumb didn’t automatically update itself, and I’m unsure as to where to go to update to the correct name.
Please post any support related questions to the theme’s support forum.
I will try and do so. The theme was purchased by a previous web designer and we don’t have the purchase code.
that sucks, it’s best if the client owns the license and purchase code that way they’ll always, no matter who does the maintenance work for them, have access to future theme updates and the support forum.
Thanks. It’s a no go on the code. We weren’t even aware he purchased a theme. We will figure it out on our end.
I tried uploading the u-design folder into Microsoft web Installer on my local computer but I was getting this error “the uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini”
How do I fix this problem on my local PC so that I can install this theme, it is really cool I so much love to work with it.
A couple of questions:
First of all, I am a bit confused at how different each website is in the uDesign portfolio. Are there tutorials to learn how to change and customize the theme?
I have a 1500×200 pixel header that I want to be centered above the menu bar (without padding and such). Is that possible with this theme? Is there documentation for that?
And, I want there to be (where the slider would be) a STATIC video on the home page – similar to the UDesign preview (Slide #3 – but it stays that way – no other slides)?
Thank you for your time!
thank you for your interest in the “U-Design” theme.
To your question, what you see in the Showcase are WordPress sites that were created with “U-Design”, not by me but clients, people like you who ended up getting the theme and using it for their projects. There actually might be one or two that I created but most are not mine. Anyhow, I have provided sufficient information to get you started with the theme in the Documentation and for the most part many of the theme’s features are self explanatory and intuitive to use (at least that’s the feedback I get from users). We also offer 24/7/365 support via a support forum which is very active so if you ever had any questions or issues to resolve you can rely on our help there.
You could certainly assign your 1500×200 pixel header image to the theme’s Top Area as a background image, it’s as straight forward as uploading the image and selecting its alignment (center, left, right, top bottom) from a drop down.
For the video in the place of the slider question you have, you should be able to easily do it, the theme gives you a “No Slider” option so you would choose that to remove the slider, then you would insert your video in a “Text” widget in one of the home page widget areas beneath the slider. What will happen is, because you’ve removed the slider, that whole slider area will collapse and in its place the widget area immediately following the slider area will move up in its place with your video in it.
I bought the u-design theme before it was updated. Now it is actual, but I get the message that the plugins Revolution slider and u-design woo-commerce integration need to be updated. In the new donwload file i didn’t find the new versions.
How I can update the revolution slider version?
1. i want to move the slider down.. its ontop of my menu
2. i want to make boxed layout, not full width
i need my layout to be boxed, not full width, can you please help me out with that… i fixed my slider issue. thanks
I just replied to your other comment, please post support questions to the forum which we’ve setup for that
Hey there – I love the “TeaTime” ecommerce demo and just have a couple of questions before I purchase:
1) Can I duplicate the same type of page (as teatime) but have a full width slider instead?
2) Also, I shouldn’t have any problems making the background dark, correct?
3) Can the social network widgets be moved to a different location, just in case I needed to move them?
thanks for the interest.
1 ) Yes, I’ve actually provided exact instructions in the support forum with necessary images and code to get that same look, just ask in the forum once you purchase the theme and we’ll direct you to that thread if you can’t locate it on your own
2 ) No problem with making the background any color
3 ) Yes, I have them in a regular “Text” widget in the form of HTML code, so you can move them anywhere you’d like in that form.
Perfect, thanks! Can’t wait to get it going…
Would it be possible to use this theme to create lots of landing pages that are similar to the home page, but are NOT the home page? I need to create a variety of landing pages in addition to a regular web site, all in the same domain. I’m concerned that the great home page features in this them only work on the one home page? thank you.
That is helpful info—thank you.
What happens when you combine a solid theme with solid support? You get U-Design. This theme has been great to work with and the support has been responsive. You truly can do anything with U-Design, which is why it is one of the top sellers. Just click the buy button because you will truly be impressed with it’s capabilities.
Thank you rdweitzman, appreciate your comment and I’m happy to hear you like the theme and support!
I want to purchase this theme for a Photography Association.
I will use the Portfolio for Photographers Listing. What i want to ask is :
1. Can i add descriptions and a read more link below each image?
2. Can i change the link so if user clicks on the image, directs him to a page (the read more page) ?
Please reply as soon as possible!
To your question:
1 ) Yes, you can add description under each portfolio item, I have shown that in the demo here, it’s just one example but you can have each item with different content and insert any button you’d like or link: http://dreamthemedesign.com/themes/u-design/portfolio/four-column-portfolio/
2 ) Yes, you can have the Portfolio item thumb be changed to a link, and you will specify what to link to, could even be an external website and you can also specify the link target attribute. This is done with a custom field.
One thing, make sure the orientation of the portfolio thumbs will work for you, it’s landscape and you can’t change it to portrait, but you can specify a different image to be used for the thumb than the preview image. If you need more info feel free to email me.
You can send me an email through my Profile page.
is there a “business hours” shortcode to set up my contact page like the example contact page?
Hello. I have a presales question. I read it does custom sidebars….how many? Can I create specific sidebars for specific pages or would it be a universal “pages” sidebar, “contact” sidebar, etc?
Also, how many menu areas are there? Like the main menu area at the top, I see you have the phone number and stuff up there in the demo, could links go there?
I don’t think you’re talking about my theme, probably another, because I don’t have custom sidebars, the theme offers sidebars for each page template that it comes with, however there are plugins for custom sidebars if you would like to use one of those. There is only one menu with this theme, where you see the social icons in the top right corner that’s a Widget area which you can use a “Text” widget to add text or HTML to.
I had check for Validation on validator.w3.org and had given me 41 ERROR !!!
Cant you FIX it ?
The issue with Revolution slider is that it’s an HTML5 slider and the theme was built for XHTML1.0 Transitional, so those errors are as a result of the different doctype. Anyhow, W3C validator is becoming hard to please for many sites these days as a result of using complex sliders, plus I don’t think this validator has as much merit as it once had with search engines, as long as your general HTML formatting is following the rules which my theme does, you’ll be fine.
Any plans for a Mega Menu option like those in Magento or http://codecanyon.net/item/ubermenu-wordpress-mega-menu-plugin/154703 soon?
many people already use the Ubermenu with the theme, it’s compatible, so yes, if you already have a copy you may use it. I believe some of the sites in the Showcase even have it installed, for example this one U-Design with UberMenu: http://www.glfhomepros.com/
In general I try to keep the number of third party plugins to be included or required by the theme to a minimum, it’s not a good practice to depend on external code so much, however if that plugin is compatible, feel free to get your own copy and use it with the theme.
Thanks. Just thought you may integrate something like it into the theme in the future. BTW can I achieve a design like www.primadonna.eu/en/blog and the home page via U-Design?
you could do something similar but not exactly, the layout is achievable but if you need exact copy of it then obviously you would need to apply a lot more customizations
Thanks. That’s great to know!
Oh 1 more thing. Is there a Page Builder integrated into UDesign (not seen in description) or do you plan to integrate later?
No, no page builders. The theme relies on the familiar to many users native to WordPress UI to edit pages and posts. I think I saw someone mention in the forum that some Page Builder was working with the theme, I assume they were talking about the one you’re talking about.
