Hi internq7, We are developing a site for our client using u-Design theme, we have a requirement that we need to change the theme style and the images(e.g. logo) randomly on every page load. Do we have any option to achieve this functionality with little bit code change?? we have 5 style folder with images and style.css.

Thanks & Regards, Steve

Hi there, Is there anyway, that this theme can be converted into responsive layout? Hope my query make sense.

Kind regards G.

AndonDesign

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in the theme!

The theme works and looks great in all popular mobiles. So, to your question, I don’t have any immediate plans. Alternatively, there are plugins like WPTouch that will give you a mobile version of any WordPress theme/site, so if that was of your concern there’s always a way around it.

AndonDesign

Hi Andon!

I have had ( and loved ) this theme since I installed it some time ago. It is really exceptional and I am very happy for your success with it!

I did discover a problem the other day, with the pages rendering properly in MSIE 7 though ( and a few other versions of MSIE ) I don’t usually have much use for MSIE … but a client alerted me to the problem and I guess I should have checked before now.

Can you help trouble shoot this as soon as you are able. Here is the link to the pdf with the screenshots of what is happening in each of the MSIE versions: http://www.mindyschmidt.com/ratespageonMSIE.pdf

I do have the latest version of WP and this theme installed, btw.

Thank you for any attention/help!

Mindy

Hi,

please be advised that this theme supports ONLY versions of IE from 7 and up. If you look around most other themes on ThemeForest will not even bother supporting IE7 or IE8 even in some cases. No one supports IE5 .5 and IE6 anymore, whoever is using IE5 .5 or IE6 should seriously consider updating their browser because of security concerns. Even Google dropped support for IE6 , more on that here:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-30684_3-10444574-265.html

Internet Explorer 6 was released in August of 2001, and the latest version of IE6 was released in August of 2004. By continuing to run Internet Explorer 6 you are open to any and all security vulnerabilities discovered since that date. In March of 2009, Microsoft released version 8 of Internet Explorer that, in addition to providing greater security, is faster and more standards compliant than both version 6 and 7 that came before it. The overall usage of Internet Explorer 6 has decreased to such a point that most web developers stop supporting it.

Also check this out: http://www.ie6countdown.com/
“Friends Don’t Let Friends use IE6 ” ... ;)

As for IE7 , IE8 and IE9 , the theme has been tested and its default features and layout are compatible. You can test the theme’s demo to verify that:
http://idesignmywebsite.com/u-design/
Be advised that your content or HTML that you or your client added may not be compatible with IE7 and it would be your responsibility at this point to make sure of its compatibility.

IE7 is one of the problem shots in the pdf referenced. Did you see the screen captures?

I had browsershots.org run all MSIE versions ( as there were only maybe 4 v. listed ) ... As I said, I don’t use that browser.

The issue I am having is with IE7 : It is not rendering the background color and I am using the provided shortcodes for the price boxes as was included with this theme. The only change I made was COLOR . It works on every other browser so it would seem to be browser specific.

Sorry to bother,

Mindy

Very Good !

Just purchased and installed the theme, but I keep getting this message even I re-downloaded and installed it again:

“There is a new version of the U-Design theme available. You have version 1.7.0 installed. Update to version 2.7.2.”

Most php files are dated July 12, 2012. That looks pretty recent.

Did I missed anything? or this is a version control glitch?

AndonDesign

Hi,

you do have the latest version 1.7.0, to fix this nag message just make sure to purge all caches. Also, don’t forget if you have any Caching WordPress plugins installed to also clear their cache.

I have build a site with UDesign last year, before the major sales, before price changes. Since then, I have purchased 8 other themes for 5 projects, and not 1 came even close to level of support and usability of the theme.

Man, just wanted to say Hi. I miss your excellent support, it is such an afterthought for so many…

Though that it would be a better use of my energy to send you a nice message, instead of sending a not so nice one to my current project theme seller :)

All better now. :)

AndonDesign

Hi Lubiland, I really appreciate you taking the time to leave this comments. Thanks for the kind words!! :)

Peace,

Has anyone ran this theme with Buddypress??

AndonDesign

Hi,

yes, I have a discussion in the support forum with a “child” theme to make the theme compatible for BuddyPress.

Hi,

I have a question regarding the posts on the page “Articole” (Blog page template). If I press “Articole” in the menu it shows all the articles written, but when I want to go to a specific article it doesn’t show the content of the article. Do you have any idea why is this happening?

Are there any plans to make this theme responsive?

AndonDesign

Hi,

The theme works and looks great in all popular mobiles. I might consider a “responsive” version in the future but for the moment I don’t have any immediate plans. Alternatively, there are plugins like WPTouch that will give you a mobile version of any WordPress theme/site, so if that was of your concern there’s always a way around it.

Thanks for prompt reply. I would suggest that the them upgraded to a truly responsive version might not only help you sustain the fantastic sales but it would probably give them a boost as more and more customers want themes optimised for mobiles. Not a critiscism just some feedback.

AndonDesign

Sure, although I’ve been researching the subject and also reading mixed reviews, here’s one: http://themeforest.net/item/udesign-wordpress-theme/discussion/253220?page=84#comment_2221375

In some cases I prefer to see the website in full, not the re-arranged (layout-wise) “responsive” version. Thanks for your suggestion though, like I said I haven’t decided yet.

how do you add a text beside the one column portfolio like in the demo

Before I buy, I will like to know if this them can be edit it in a way I can accommodate images to fit a theme template.

I saw many users that made custom themes using this template like this one here that I like the idea a lot. http://cobblecreekcustomhomes.com/

Do I have a CP for me to add images to the template like that one to create a final theme?

Do I have access to the CSS file to make changes manually if it need to and overall how you rate your template when it comes to user friendly for skinning it with a nice custom theme,

Thanks and looking forward buying depending criterias and also I need 7 downloads for 7 different sites and I want to have a license for each website. My priority is design wise as I will like to make custom pages for each of my clients

Thanks

AndonDesign

Hi,

thanks for your interest in the theme!!

I wouldn’t call that a “custom theme”, it is an implementation of a website with this theme. The theme is that flexible that allows you to implement sites that look rather different without any code changes. Yes, the theme has its own backend options page, I assume that’s what you mean by “CP”.

For adding custom CSS I have provided a “child” theme, that way your changes will be update-proof when future updates of theme are available.

As for the 7 sites having different licenses, the way it works here on ThemeForest is you will have to purchase the theme 7 times, once for each project/website, and each instance with give you its own unique purchase code.

Interesting feedback about responsive. Would love to knw what he is selling! Some of the e-commerce themes I have seen that are responsive are amazing and it baffles me that these themes dont deliver more sales than “non-responsive”. As for a corporate or business theme which I would describe u-design as I would have thought it’s all about being able to view content on each device without having to pinch the screen and zoom in and zoom out? I will certainly be doing more research but the intial reserach I have done on “what customers prefer” not actual sales but what they prefer is over whelming in favour of responsive. Interesting discussion.
