Hey there,
I’m interested in picking up this template — my only question is can you provide a bit of insight to making the portfolio (grid) thumbnails link to their “more details” page on each piece; rather than firing lightbox to view larger?
Thank you,
t
You bet… There is an option in the admin panel that will allow you to disable the lightbox feature. This allows the thumbs to jump directly to their details pages.
Hi Nathan – awesome template. I looked through the comments for my questions but didn’t see an answer, so I apologize in advance if the questions have been answered.
How do you switch between the vertical and horizontal layout for a detailed work? Also, my radio nav buttons below the slider are not showing even though I have three images rotating through the slider. Last, are there any ways to control the registration point of a blog feature image that displays on the main blog page? I noticed it defaults to the center of the image. Thanks!
Hi there, I may need a little more clarification on the first question. I’m not sure what you mean by “vertical and horizontal layout for detailed work”.
The radio nav buttons for the slider were removed in the latest version of the theme. I felt like they were a little buggy in the flexslider plugin.
For the featured image, I don’t think there is a way to control where the image crops in WordPress through the admin. You might try cropping the image before it is uploaded.
Thank you – I think I may have been on the html demo and not the wordpress demo. In the html demo, under the “work” menu item – there are two layout choices “single horizontal” & “single vertical” – is the single vertical layout not available in the wordpress template? The detailed work (portfolio) post defaults to the “single horizontal” layout. Also, where would I change the gray background color for the footer and testimonial?
Yes, The wordpress version only has the horizontal layout. You can change colors for the footer and testimonials from the layout.css file.
Hi again I appologize in advance for this silly question, but I lost the beautiful 404 error page, how do I get it back?
It’s in the image directory… It was replaced in the last version of the theme with text to make way for color adjustments through the admin. If you want to use it, just replace the text in 404.php with a link to the image.
Great!!!! Thanks!!!It worked!
Awesome!
Hi again! My blog feed is showing an entire post, even though I have set blog feed to show “summary” in settings. Is there a change I am missing? Also, in the general settings, I see you can choose to show product descriptions for homepage gallery tiles – any way to show the excerpt as opposed to the entire description? Thank you.
Hi… Try using the “Insert More” button or (Alt+Shift+T) in the editor where ever you would like your post to break.
For the portfolio items, enter an excerpt in the box below the main editor. If there is nothing there, whatever is in the main editor will be displayed. You can see an example in the video here: https://vimeo.com/46911364
Hi Again, I have a little bit of an issue with displaying the video, it says there is an error when loading the video. I have tested the id and is fine on vimeo, but the embed option for pages doesn’t work.
See link : http://audiothumbprint.com/audio/
Thanks for your help
Hi there, I just viewed the link, and the video loaded just fine for me. I viewed it in FF for Mac.
Awesome, thanks a million.
Hi, Yes I can see it fine in IE and Chrome… maybe it is my FF settings or something, as the video doesn’t load
I have tried to load a youtube video in this embed but it doesn’t work. Is it possible?, or is it only for Vimeo videos. This is probably a very silly question. Sorry..
It just not working for me.
help one more time… :~
Hi again, It should work fine for both YouTube and Vimeo videos. I’m afraid, I can’t be of much help as it loads fine in FF (Mac and PC), Chrome and IE for me. You might try checking to see if you have the latest version of FF, and make sure the Flash player is installed.
Thank you! I’ll see if updating FF will do! Great work!!!!! Loving it!!!
Hi! I want to buy your theme but I’m rather new at this wordpress thing, so I was wondering if you could give me the default design on your demo of themeforest so I can build my site over that? That would be greatly appreciated! /Jen
Hi, sorry but I’m a little unclear on what you’re asking. If you need html check my portfolio for non-Wordpress versions of the theme.
Is there something specific I have to do to make images posted through the media uploader respond to the mobile or tablet contexts? Looked through documentation but couldn’t find anything specific to inline (non gallery images).
I feel like I should know what to do here but I’m a little lost. Any help you can provide would be helpful. LOVE your work here. Thanks.
Hi there… Try viewing the advanced properties for the image and add “scale-with-grid” in the class field. (no quotes). That should do the trick.
Hi, is it possible to change the colour of the background from brown to another colour?
Thanks
Sure… You can replace the background tiles in the images directory with your own.
Hi! I’ve bought this theme but I can’t install it. When the instalation is complete, appear a mensage: “Are you sure that you want do that? please try it again” I hadn’t problems when I installed other themes, in addition my wordpres’s version is 3.4.1. I hope your answer Thanks!
Hi there, make sure you are installing a . Zip file that contains only the theme files. Don’t try uploading the zip you downloaded that contains the theme plus all of the support files. That won’t work.
Hi again, I am back and probably with a very silly question, Those you get after working long hours.
I
My navigation is splitting up in two lines when I change one of the pages title. I need to rename a page from ‘All Music’ to ‘Music Library’ when I do it the navigation just splits as if there is not enough space but my client wants that name for that page…How can I fix it?
Thanks in advance
Hi again, you can make the space for the nav menu bigger by editing the classes in the template. Currently the space is split evenly for the navigation and the logo area. If you’re not comfortable doing that you’ll have to make the menu smaller in width by condensing the menu labels or utilizing the drop down.
Hello, I uploaded via ftp folder “un altro” to the themes folder, but I doubt if you have to upload also files - updates_log.txt & - unaltro.import.xlm
Without these files I have installed the template but there are options that do not work well and let me know if that’s why or ask one problem
Thanks
It sounds like you’ve done it correctly if you have activated the theme. Have you Imported the sample data from the XML file? The sample data will help you see how some of the features work. Also be sure to check out the tutorial videos on the theme’s TF page.
It worked! Thanks!
Hi…I really like your theme, nice work! I was wondering how easy it was to add/upload a custom logo?
Many Thanks
Hi there… Glad you like it. You can upload your own logo from the admin area. It’s pretty easy.
awesome…many thanks!
Hi Nathan,
Indeed a awesome Theme, but we have a little problem. I hope you can help me with it, the problem exists on the portfolio page, the numbers at the bottom of the page are not working. Somehow page number 2, 3 etc etc are not found, when I click on those numbers I get a 404 error page. I’ve tried many things and look around in the theme options and so on but it seems that I can’t find the problem. Could you please take a look and help me out? Thanks!
The url is: http://invorm-online.nl/portfolio Thanks!
EDIT : The numbers are working when I set the permalinks to Default instead of Post name. Any idea’s?
It looks like a permalink issue… The links to your project details don’t work either. Check to see what the permalinks are for each post. You also might try renaming the portfolio parent page to something else, then see if it works. You can then rename it back again. It sounds weird, but usually something like that will fix a permalink problem.
