what are the major differences between nimble and unicorne themes? I want to buy one of these two
Hi,
Both themes share similar backend codebase, but frontend is kinda different. The main deferences are in design and aesthetics. Unicorn is a bit better for minimal-style sites; maybe more “creative” ones. Nimble – for more “complex” corporate designs. (Therefore there are more appearance settings in Nimble; they are a bit more complicated.)
Nimble has “catalog” post type. Unicorn – not. This is not something you need to worry about. As both themes are compatible with WooCommerce.
Unicorns has build in mechanism to serve ALL images in “retina quality”. Actually it is not just “retina-ready” it “supports retina out of the box”. Nimble serves retina quality icons and other design elements but at this moment you need to install third-party plugins to make pictures in content retina. (We are going to update Nimble to serve retina graphics automatically in nearest future – as we see that people are not installing those plugins themselves
)
Unicorn allows you to change the height of thumbnails in portfolio and galleries Nimble – not (this is planned for one of updates).
Nearest update will bring the “disable responsiveness” feature to Nimble. After that Unicorn will receive similar update.

No we are not planning to implement such feature – it decreases page performance and lags significantly on lesser computers and bend-held devices.

1 small comment wish your themes would be a lit faster and optimized, all themes and have 3 now this will be nr 4 are loading real slow and score only around 50 on site speed

I’ve bought two of your themes in the past but I can’t even view the demo of this one because there are so many half naked women on it.
That’s ridiculous. You can use other images besides that.
Hopefully on your next theme you won’t have that. I would have loved to buy this theme but I can’t even look at it because of all the garbage on the pictures.

Love this theme. How or where can I change the spacing between images on PhotoStacker slider. I want them to have a few pixels distance from each other. I’ve seen that on your other themes, so i guess it’s doable. Thanks!

Yes, it can be done, but requires certain amount of CSS customization (and some of js). If you are familiar with it, you can use FireBug (FireFox plugin for web-developers) or Chrome web developers tools to define which style should be changed and where. I really like this theme. The more I use it the more I like it. Worth every penny. Good job to all. It is hard to find a theme that will fit every one of your needs but Unicorn covers pretty much everything. This is great for photographers like myself with the unique “Photo Albums” section on top of “Portfolio’s” it is a must. The support has been VERY helpful. I would like to see a few more details in the Manual (i.e. ideal graphic and image sizes to use) but you can certainly get by as is. As far as the comment by levtcreative with slow load speeds I am NOT experiencing that at all. In fact after reading that post I decided to recheck my speed and am getting a load time of 2 seconds. For a site like mine that is currently using NO OPTIMIZATION plugins and is heavy with photographs and widget use that’s amazing.

Update I re-activated my W3 Total Cache plugin that was de-activated during some site changes and I am now puling speeds (tested 3 times) of 0.9 seconds. Even Apple Computers website is taking 0.5 seconds. What more could I ask.

You can install a third party plugin for that. But please note, that this won’t really protect your images from being stollen. The best way if to “watermark” your images with your site address, name, logo, etc (you can search for plugins that will do it for you automatically).

WOW , Guess who just saw a New FAV WP THEME ?!! Really amazing/smooth/modern/beautiful and GRT on iphone looks like too (whew, glad you have Smooth dropdown menu, even on top notch themes, some designers have older school popout menu bar on mobile view) Was going to ask if compatible with Woocommerce for selling few products but see above YES … all good there?) Also can sliders be set to auto Swipe, horizontal, or auto play without pressing arrows) THNKS wow Much Respect to Your work!!
