On the homepage, where you have featured projects can those four blocks (with the hover text) just link to a page rather then a post?
Hi, that is “portfolio” shortcode. It is hard-linked to portfolio projects. But a portfolio project page can behave like any full-width static page: you can create custom layouts for it using build-in “layout builder” feature.
I like this theme:) and have a few questions. Can I post as ‘aside’ and ‘link’ type in blog? Can I set video(YouTube etc) thumbnail in portfolio list or gallery? (I checked it in light box and blog.)
Hi,
I’m afraid features that you’ve asked about are not supported. Sorry.
we are not very skilled with wordpress and cannot figure out how to add our address / phone / hours at the top of the site as shown in the Unicorn Live site (23 First St, New York, USA +38 099 780 77 80info@yoursite.comMon. – Fri. 11:00 – 19:00)... how do we do this? thanks!
Hi,
It can be done via “WP-admin > Theme Options > Misc”. On that page you will find a “Contacts in header” section.
Thank you for the help Dream-Theme! (we feel like such novices, ha!) Please forgive the silly questions as this is our first exposure to Wordpress, but here are a few more questions: (1) how do we add a simple ‘hyperlink menu’ to the footer (not the default footer – the very bottom of the page)? (2) how do we get our page content (text) to appear on the published page using the existing “Video Gallery with Sidebar” page template? (3) is this the correct place to ask you these questions, or would you prefer we do this offline / elsewhere! our very kind regards -

Hello I want to know if your theme there are payment option PayPalpas thank you in advance for your response cordially Brwa
Hello,
There are no build-in e-commerce solutions. But theme fully compatible with WooCommerce plugin!
Hi.. Just a quick question. bit new to wp and looking to find where I can increase the width and sizing of the main title branding/logo area within the purchased theme.
Thanks Fluent
Hi,
Most probably it will require some minor css customization. Can you post a link to a mockup of what you need to do? Maybe I’ll be able to advice you something. Thanks!
Hi, thank’s for this amazing theme. One question : it seems that a lot of effects (slider animation, menu hover…) are not available using IE, is that right ?
Hello,
That’s correct. Recent themes (not only ours – this is common trend) are using hardware accelerated CSS3 animations. It cannot be emulated (with adequate resource consumption) in older IE versions.
WEB is now at the point where developers and users do not want to bear with IE holding the evolution:) So the common rule is “site should work fine in every browser; but in modern ones it will look more rich and attractive”.
I agree with you and personnaly I do not use IE. However some clients do. This is not due to the fact that the browser is recent or not: the problem appears also usign IE9 , wich is not the oldest one!
Chrome, FF, Safari each and every of this browsers are updating regularly to keep up to date with newest web standards. And what about IE?
Should we stop making beautiful animations only because Microsoft cannot make its browser support standards??
Changing colour of custom menu items:
I have tried for hours now, how do I change the background of the Custom Menu Items in the sidebar Widget?
Hi,
This can be done here: “wp-admin > theme options > backgrounds”. In the “content area” tab you’ll find at the very bottom of the page you’ll find a “widgets/shortcodes background” box.
Also, when you set the BG to white, alot of the features become invisible, like the custom menu, the call to action box etc
Hi,
I suggest you to enable the “light minimal” skin (from “wp-admin > theme option > skins”). This will give you an idea which options are changing to work best with light backgrounds. Moreover it can be a perfect starting point for your custom design!
Perfect, seriously, this theme is amazing. The options just keep coming. Tricky, but worth it.
Hi Dream-Theme,
Is it possible to change the height of the slider on the template page: Slideshow with Sidebar. I don’t want the slideshow to take up so much of the page, but I still want it to have the header background.
Thanks
Hi,
You can set the height for OneBuOne slider and for Fullscreen Slideshow. For other slider this option is not available.
Just bought the theme and thank you for your great work. Very good and stable theme with great documentation and user friendly interface without the loss of power.
I wonder if there is an easy way to add my own shortcodes and in that case, how should I go about to do that most easily?
Is there an easy way to add my own skin to the theme where I can set all colors etc, “centraly” rather than having to edit all possiblities manually? Also, how would I go about to do that most easily if doable?
Last, do you undertake custom development / modules of the theme if we have special needs? Of course payed!
Hi,
Unfortunately we are not providing any individual development/customization services.
You can submit a request via our online help-desk http://support.dream-theme.com – our programmer will give you couple of tips regarding your other questions.
When I log into the backend I get this warning and when i refresh the page it goes away… ? I haven’t touch anything, I just installed the theme.

Hello,
You need to disable the responsive layouts?
1- Ammmmm no , but how can disable maybe in the future ? !:D ,
2- All I need is in this picture :
http://f.cl.ly/items/3g2D2g2u2s1p011G0q1i/Screen%20Shot%202012-12-03%20at%201.57.39%20PM.pngI need resize mobile width ( responsive layouts ) to little big .
I’m afraid no. This is point of column framework used in Unicorn – it is not “fluid”, but has “fixed” column width. And this is not something that can be changed easily.
Well just tell me what files that must be modified
_” ?Style.css ? < Only ?
Thank you
No. Code is spread among all files. The best approach is to use a FireBug (FireFox plugin for web-developers) or Chrome web developers tools to define which style should be changed and where. Here’s an awesome screencast by WooThemes on how to use it: http://vimeo.com/20917974
Hi!
First great theme!
Some QS before purchase:
1. Is it possible to choose whatever font I want from Google Fonts? Even in the body area?
2. Can I build my own contact form?
Hi,
1. There’s an option to choose a google font for headers only. But font for body area can relatively easily be hardcoded.
2. You can use plugins like contact form 7 for this purpose.
Hello,
Sorry if I missed this in a previous comment, I would like to change the height of the slideshow on the homepage. Right now the dimensions are something like 960×430. If I re-size the height of the image alone, timthumb (?) is re-sizing it back to the 430 height. Is there an option for this I overlooked, or perhaps where in the code should I look to modify the height?
Thanks!!!
Hi,
Changing height of slider requires considerable amount of CSS and JavaScript customization.
For CSS you can use FireBug (FireFox plugin for web-developers) or Chrome web developers tools to define which style should be changed and where. Here’s an awesome screencast by WooThemes on how to use it: http://vimeo.com/20917974
For JavaScript I’ll need to know which slider you are customizing – I’ll try to give you couple of tips.
Thanks, I’m fairly familiar with coding so if you can just direct me to the right spot. I’m trying to adjust the nivo slider.
Hi,
Apart from CSS (which you can define with FireBug or Dev tools) and PHP, Nivo slider does not require additional [JavaScript] editing. If you’ll need assistance with PHP, please, submit a request via our online help-desk http://support.dream-theme.com – our programmer will consult you (I’m front-end developer and cannot help with it).
Thanks for your previous help! One last question, is there a way to disable the responsiveness. I know you recently added that feature to nimble, is that an option with this theme? Sorry if I missed that in the options. If it isn’t in the options, is this something I can easily code or will it be coming as a feature in the future?
Hi,
At this moment this feature is not available. But it is already developed and we are going to submit an update in couple of days (as soon as it’ll be tested with WP 3.5).
Am I able to have the featured image/thumbnail on a blog post fit to the 210px width eg. not scaled? In some instances I am including a logo which I would not want cropped by the frame, is it possible to have these featured images fit to frame?
Cheers
Hi,
I’m afraid I cannot say anything before I see it. Please, submit a request via our online help-desk http://support.dream-theme.com – we’ll get back to you ASAP and take a look at it.
Hey Guys,
First – Great theme
Now, a quick question. Is it possible to only show the ‘featured’ category or in our case “image” posts on the home page, but not on sub ‘category’ pages.
Ie: we have some posts that we’ve set to ‘image’ as the type, and only want those to show on the home page. In the menu, we have direct to category links for our post categories, but we’d prefer not to show the ‘image’ posts on these pages.
Essentially we want to use the ‘image’ posts as ‘featured posts’ only on the home page, but nowhere else in the site (or, better yet, showing elsewhere in their categories, but not as ‘image’ posts instead reverting back to the regular left aligned image).
thanks for any feedback! matt
Hi,
Yes, “Homepage with blog” page template allows you to show posts from only certain category. Please try to explore settings for that template and play around with them (you can refer to user manual for more details).
If you need further assistance with it, please don’t hesitate to submit a request via our online help-desk http://support.dream-theme.com
Hey Guys,
Yup, this works. We already had it set that way. The home page is only showing the posts from one category.
However, say we have a category ‘featured’ and we have items in it, and the post is set to ‘image’ (so we have the full width image in it).
We want it to show with the full width image on the home page, but when you’re in the ‘category’ it should just show the small image thumbnail like all the other posts.
Is that possible?
Hi,
Theoretically it’s possible, but requires considerable amount of customization. Unfortunately we are not able to provide it
Please consider hiring php-for-wp programmer to assist you.
Is there any purpose to the ‘Team’ Taxonomy? IE can it be used to build a staff page? There are a couple of ‘Team’ members in the supplied xml content, but I cannot see how or where to use it. Thank you.
Hi,
Bu default that post type can be displayed via correspondent widget. Experienced developers also can build specialized page templates out of it.
