The theme hasn’t been updated in almost a year. Are there any security threats because of this? I get a little nervous because all the other themes purchased though theme forest get updated every other month with security patches.

There are no security threats. We must just be better at using good clean code the proper way from the start. I didn’t realize there were so many authors with security issues. We’ve never received a report of a security issue related to our code for Unite, ever.
There was a TimThumb security issue reported about a year ago. We updated any themes we had using that script to patch the problem. This was included as one of those themes which was updated.
We don’t have any planned updates. The theme has been stable for a very long time so there is no need to do an update.
Hi! I’ve a little question! The widget “recent tweets” i think don’t work good. Because the widget display just the first post of the twitter account. If i delete the post on twitter, on the template i continue to see only the first post(even if i have deleted it from my twitter)... is there a solution? thanks in advance, and compliments.

We make updates as needed for fixing bugs and other things come up. Recently someone on the forum brought up the question of some of the code libraries being updated. We did look at this last week and there may be an update soon for some of the features like the slide show and jQuery that have newer versions.

Hi,
Why not make the menu system compatible to the current WP menu system rather than letting customers hack into the files? Not all customers are comfortable hacking into core files and prone of making errors.
Additionally, according to the post here http://para.llel.us/support/groups/unite-wordpress/forum/topic/new-menus-wp-3-3/, the instruction in your FAQ is outdated.
Hope you’ll consider updating this theme since it has thousands of sales.

In the instructions for the Help Center (the popup where it asks for the License) there are instructions for finding the License Certificate. In your ThemeForest account, Downloads area click the “License” link next to the item you purchased.
Thinking about buying this theme. Can I upload my own background images? Also does it have any options for ads on “Home page”? Thanks
You can add background images using the skinning (CSS) files included with the theme.
There are not any custom advertising features, but there is no limit to the ability to add advertisements. You can insert on into any widget ready area. There are close to 10 on the home page alone.

Images in slide shows can be linked to posts, pages or any other custom link of your choosing.

Great theme but agree that it needs an update, twitter updates does not update as it should and no mobile version. also missing some Facebook widget , ability to change background and old slider on the frontpage. Doeas not go so well with Gravityform either.
I purchased the Unite theme almost a year ago and the theme has worked fine until now.
All of a sudden my main nav bar will not display the submenu items. I added the Next Gen plugin and gallery. I noticed the shortcode would not work with your theme. The gallery just kept trying to load.
I assume your theme is not compatible with those plugins. Is that correct.
Anyway, I removed the plugins and I still can’t get the submenu items to appear.

Hi, I am using version 2.1.1 and have installed a arty popup plugin. however there seems to be a jQuery conflict as it stops the slider from working. Any fix for this. I know that the jQuery might be changed to $ but I was wondering if you have addressed this issue already. thanks.

There are no plans for a responsive version of Unite.

Is it possible to embed videos in the homepage slider? like an html slide or something?
Unfortunately, no it isn’t. There is an overlay on top of the slide show which creates the curved bottom edge and top corners. This overlay covers the content of the slide show, although invisible, and as a result prevents any click actions. That means even if you add a video, users will be unable to click the play button.
Where can I can change the text size in all the pages (besides the home – I saw how to do that). Do I change the font in the css or right in the page. Thanks

How can I get the newest version of this theme?
I have the latest version of WordPress, but my theme is out of date. When I go to the updates section on my WP dashboard, it says everything is up to date. However, I noticed I have 1.1 and the newest version is 2.1.1.
I am extremely pleased with my site, but I wanted to get this fixed and wasn’t sure how. Can I get some help? Thanks!
