Per the help file, you need to create a menu on the “menus” page. For more info, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lXbIR9jEnM

hello, love the theme layout and options. i am having trouble uploading it the server via through WB upload and my ftp. it keeps telling me the below:

Broken Themes

The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template. Name Description wordpress university theme Stylesheet is missing.

but, it appears the stylesheet is on the server within the theme folder. has anyone else had this problem or am i just the lucky one? lol

My theme installation fails with the below message. I’ve tried some things that have failed. How to fix or get a refund? (In the below I’ve replaced the domain name with the word DOMAIN .

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

Theme installed successfully.

I had already done both scenarios listed in that FAQ and neither worked. What to do?

theMOLITOR

I can confirm nothing is wrong with the theme. Did you try manually installing the theme folder (“wpuniversity”) directly into your themes directory?

Yes, I did manually install the theme folder (the folder with the style.css file) directly into my themes folder. I also used the other method outlined in the FAQ . Neither worked. Just to be sure, I just tried both scenarios again before replying here now. I can switch other themes on and off with no issue. I think I need a different solution or a refund (which would be a shame as the theme looks PERFECT ).

theMOLITOR

I’m sorry you’re having trouble, but again, I can confirm nothing is wrong with the files. As you can see, this theme has been purchased and installed many times.

Don’t forget that OptionTree is also required for the theme to work.

I want to create another full page template, but when I copy the full page template that comes with the theme and modify it, the sidebar is still there. Since <? php get_sidebar() ?> is in footer.php, how do I get it to go full width like the full page template that comes with the theme?

theMOLITOR

Thanks for purchasing!

In the CSS , you’ll need to create another body.pageTemplateName declaration like the full page one.

Chris – I didn’t know about OptionTree. I’m up and working. Thank you very, very much.

Yay! :-)

Please don’t forget to rate the theme on your downloads page :-)

I have huge problem!

When I install Option tree and go to the site, my server just fall down!

Any solutions?

Thanks!

theMOLITOR

Thanks for purchasing!

OptionTree requires PHP 5 . Can you confirm you have PHP 5 ?

optiwebsi

Defenitly. I have few more sites with that plugin and it works just fine. But here is something terribly wrong.

theMOLITOR

Can you explain what is happening, provide a screenshot or a link so I can better understand?

I’ve tried installing this theme twice, following the step-by-step instructions. The problem I keep having is that the Page content keeps showing up in the dark content at the bottom of the page, while the content that’s designated to be the footer content isn’t getting displayed at all. What could I be forgetting?

theMOLITOR

Thanks for purchasing!

Do you have a link to your site so I can see what you’re talking about?

Default-user

Unfortunately, it’s on a private development server. I can offer a screenshot though: http://twitpic.com/4zbi3i

theMOLITOR

Looks like you haven’t finished setting up the site. Try adding a logo, widgets, etc. Let me know if that fixes it.

Default-user

I added a logo image…the default uploader wasn’t working, but I dropped the image into the file structure directly. I also added the category widget to each template.

The only difference is that the logo shows up. The widgets don’t appear, and the content still shows in the dark grey area. All the OptionTree settings are set.

theMOLITOR

Default uploader wasn’t working? That’s an indication of the problem you’re having. Make sure when you’re uploading the logo, you click “file URL ” and then click “insert into post” to load the image in OptionTree. Click “save changes” and it should work. If not, you have a server problem and will likely need to contact your host.

We use our own server running IIS 7 on Windows Server 2008 R2. PHP 5 .2 is installed. Whenever I activate another theme, everything renders beautifully, but when this one is turned on, the page fails to fully load, including the admin bar at the top, which you can see in the screenshot.

theMOLITOR

Can you confirm the steps I mentioned above do not solve your logo issues?

Default-user

I opened up the permissions, and whenever I try to upload the image and click “Insert into Post,” it now uploads the logo and creates a bunch of thumbnails, but it doesn’t display on the options page or on the site.

Another thing: whenever I’m accessing a page of the site, it takes a long time to start displaying on the screen, like something is timing out. However, the site backend loads in no time. Also, even though the featured post section shows up, the buttons to change the slides don’t work. I’m hoping this tells you enough to let me know what kind of server settings I may need to change.

theMOLITOR

It sounds like you’re having server problems if you can’t use the OptionTree settings. I don’t know what specficially because I haven’t heard of this issue before and server stuff in general go a bit beyond my knowledge.

Just to confirm, when uploading the logo use the “File URL ”. Here’s a video of what I mean: http://www.screenr.com/Mtj

Can you not do this?

As matthewlehew sad. Something is wrong. I have same problem… :S

theMOLITOR

Make sure when you’re inserting the logo that you’re using the “file URL ”. Here’s a video showing what I mean: http://www.screenr.com/Mtj

I had some permissions issues that were prohibiting the logo upload, but they’re fixed now, and I was able to change the logo as I pleased. And I was using the “file URL ” functionality.

The other problems are still persisting, though.

This may help…it looks like the reason it’s not rendering properly is because the footer isn’t getting called. When I look at the source of the broken page, the final line is:

< /div><!--end tabs--> (put a space in the end div call so it would show up)

Which in your index.php file, comes right before the footer call. So why what would cause the call for the footer to fail?

theMOLITOR

It sounds like you’re maybe missing something in the setup phase. It’s hard to say without looking at the site myself.

Are you specifying a page to display in the footer? Be sure to check out all the options available in OptionTree and make sure everything is filled out.

Hi themolitor, Thanks for your theme. I’ve finally configured and deployed it for a college. Glad I waited till version 4.0. I have 2 issues
  1. How do I remove the date from the featured post list on the home page.
  2. How do I take option panel off the reach of a user with editor assess so my client do not mistakenly tamper with it.
Thanks once again By the way does it work smoothly with Wordpress 3.1.3.
theMOLITOR

Thanks for purchasing!

1. Open up “header.php” and remove both instances of <small><?php the_time('m.d.Y') ?></small> on lines 63 and 78.

2. There isn’t a clean way to do this. I would just advise them which pages they should edit and which page they should leave alone.

Hi,

Interested in your theme. Does this theme have support for IE9 ???

theMOLITOR

Yup, sure does :-)

Default-user

A few more questions

1. Does this theme support Wordpress 3.2? 2. What newsletter plug-in/widget works best with this theme? 3. We don’t want the featured items listing in the header. Can an image slider be used in its place? – I have found that going outside of the theme design box, causes a lot of undesirable results with most of these themes.

Awaiting your response…

theMOLITOR

1. Yes, 3.2 is supported.

2. Not sure. I haven’t actually used a newsletter plugin.

3. This isn’t a theme option, so it would require some editing to achieve.
