Hi, I have just purchased the theme and the sidebar with weather widget and adv. widget pack seems to be missing. Can you have a look into it? Thanks.

Siiimple

Hi, I responded to your email. That’s really strange. Did you check the plugins folder? Thanks! Justin

Hello, I have just purchased the theme and imported content into it from another template, now it shows all funny with images overlaying each other, most of the left column not showing, Facebook widget indicating an error and a couple areas always have a loading wheel on. Can you please advise as to why this is happening?

Thank you!

Siiimple

Hi,

It’s difficult to say without knowing what was imported. Feel free to setup a ticket at siiimple.ticksy.com. Thanks!

Hello Justin,

I sent you an email.

Thanks!

Hi dear team, I updated the last version with bb Forums http://www.fueradelmapa.com/forums/forum/turismo-en-mexico/, but I would like to use the same estructure that you show in the example page http://themes.siiimple.com/urbannews/forums/...

How can I configure this forum???

Thanks in advance.

Siiimple

Hi,

I don’t think I received your email. Be sure to read the documentation related to the bbPress. You can download it at ThemeForest downloads area. It has a guide to setup the bbPress. Be sure to install the bbPress plugin (comes with the download), then setup pages with the bbPress template option, as if you were to setup any other page, there are template options related to bbPress. Then you create new forums in the bbPress post types (left side of the admin menu area). Hope that helps :)

thanks Justin

Thanks Justin, I see that the mistake was that the new version that I downloaded don´t included the explain of how can I setup the bbPress…

Now I downloaded again and this version includes this update in the documentation, but… now the problem is that my pages section don´t display the bbPress templates, only the templates of the theme.

Maybe I need to reinstall all the theme?

Thanks in advance!

Siiimple

Yes, it’s best to have the latest version available. Then be sure to have the plugin installed as well.

Thanks! Justin

Is there a way to stop the top banner from scrolling down if the visitor has closed it once? I’m concerned it may bother some of my visitors.

Siiimple

I can look into that.

oyohan Purchased

I just noticed on the demo version, the top banner only shows up on the home page? Is this recent change?

Siiimple

Yes, it’s recent. It can be allowed to show on all pages as well.

As the authors link the posts to their names? When I click the author’s name, he does not list his posts. :(

Siiimple

Not sure why that would be, though I’m happy to take a look. Feel free to setup a ticket at siiimple.ticksy.com. Thanks!

Hi – in section2 – feature gallery – how hard would it be to add code to make it auto rotate?

I’m not finding the Widgets for social media to the Footer (Connect as in the example). Could you help me?

Siiimple

Hi, in the documentation there is an example how it goes. If you would like to shoot me an email I will be happy to put in an example.

Thanks! Justin

Default-user

Got it. Thanks.

Hello Justin,

Figured out hot to get the template to work with the imported content bu the feature sliders (both main & secondary) are not loading, just keeps showing the loading wheel, do you know what that is?

Also where would I find the option to add icons to the menu tabs?

Thank you!

Default-user

Ok will do right now thank you!

Default-user

Figured this out it was a gallery plugin messing with the theme.

thanks Justin

Siiimple

Good to hear. Thanks

Hi there!

Love this theme and am really pleased with it thus far. The only thing that I am struggling with is the weather widget. Whenever I put it in the sidebar no matter what size it is, it jumbles all of the rest of the content on the page. I am not sure what is going on but when I remove the widget it goes back to normal. Any ideas for how to fix this? Or are there any special instructions for how to configure that widget within the theme that I am missing?

Thank you!

Siiimple

Hi

Good to hear, though I’m not sure what’s going on with the weather widget. Feel free to send me an email and setup a ticket at siiimple.ticksy.com and I will take a closer look and get it set right for you.

Thanks! Justin

One more little bump in the road, I set up the menu and tried adding the icons as per the instructions on the documentation but it looks like the menu bar is either slightly out of line and/or the icons are spaced farther away from the text than they are supposed to be. Any input would be great :)

Thanks again!

Siiimple

Go ahead and set up a ticket at siiimple.ticksy.com and I will take a look. Could be an odd conflict with a plugin using a similar class for a menu or something strange like that. I will have a look :)

Thanks Justin

Default-user

Thanks so much for being so willing to help! So appreciated :) ! When you mentioned a plugin conflict I went in and turned them all off and turned them back on one by one, it turns out both issues were caused by the same Calendar plugin I had been using with a previous theme, once that was deactivated it all went back to normal! Hurray! Thanks again!

Siiimple

Great to hear :) Thanks for letting me know.

istallieren the following error occurred: how can I fix it?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /mnt/web8/d2/50/53351550/htdocs/WordPress_02/wp-content/themes/urbannews/admin/index.php on line 22

This is related to the Theme Options. Send me an email and I will send you a suggestion.

hi there, Ok I will try and explain what I am attempting to do. i have several categories pplus lication based Categories like for example bussines, sport, art, popular,...and then WORLD with its subcategories, -uk -usa -france

I would like to have a page like http://themes.siiimple.com/urbannews/template-categories/ which would be WORLD based then also pages in same layout like that one but only listing posts that are related to particular country ie.uk and respectivly usa and france, how do I do that? I want to have thumbnails with the category names where categories are also related to a country. to show posts that have both categories selecrted. many thanks B

Siiimple

Hey,

It’s possible to add another template with only the sub categories. If you would like to send me an email, setup a ticket at siiimple.ticksy.com and I will see if I can help out. Thanks!

Justin

Wonderful theme for my latest magazine styled blog http://www.musicpost.it

I’m currently on WordPress 3.4, I’m a little scared in updating to 3.5, do you know there’s some compatibility issue around?

Thanks in advance!

Siiimple

No, there’s no known issue. The demo is currently running on 3.5. If something unusual happens, feel free to contact me for any help.

Thanks! Justin

Also, if you get a chance to rate the theme that would be awesome! Hard to get ratings and it’s really appreciated :)

ThemesNinja

Thanks! I’ve rated UrbanNews with 5 stars a few days ago ;-)

Siiimple

Thanks! So much appreciated :)

Hi Justin,

I am wanting to purchase this theme but I am a bit nervous about switching from my current theme. I have a lot of blog posts on my current site and was wondering if how to switch themes is the documentation provided and if I will loose any existing content when doing so?

Love the theme and cant wait to get started with it!

Thanks,

Lisa

Siiimple

Hey there,

You should never lose content when switching themes. So I wouldn’t worry about that. But because nothing is certain on the internet :) be sure to backup all your posts and data (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/backupwordpress/) whenever you’re uncertain. You can switch themes simply by changing the theme in the admin area. All the areas in UrbanNews are organized by categories and you can show whatever content you want in each section. Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

Thanks! Justin

Hello Justin,

I’ve resolved all of the other issues and the site looks great but it does not work properly in Firefox: the center column shows to the left under the left side column, similarly in THEME SETTINGS the column with actual settings shows under the theme settings menu. It works perfect in all other browsers. I cannot publish the site unless it is working properly in all browsers and this is a big issue that we have been trying to fix and are unable to – suggestions?

thank you

Default-user

No this is a more recent issue, we were able to make it work by jacking the code so it works fine in Firefox, Safari and Chrome but only because we hacked the template. Otherwise the columns are not reacting properly in firefox (event when clicked on a single post the right column shifted to the bottom under comments) so there does seem to be a bug.

Thanks for the response Justin!

Siiimple

Hey,

Something’s not right. The theme was developed in all those browsers, specifically. I’m not able to replicate any of what you’re describing. Perhaps send me an email and I can see exactly what’s occurring. It sounds like there is a conflict with a plugin that is using similar classes in their stylesheet. Other than that, it doesn’t make sense to me.

Thanks Justin

Default-user

That’s what I thought too. Ok i’ll send you an email. Thank you !

Hello i have installed the theme but the menu bar is not apper , what i have to do for that plz guide .

Best Regards

Siiimple

Hi,

The menu needs to be created by going to Appearance > Menus > Create New Menu > then choose your Theme Location (top left of the menu area). It’s in the documentation for a better description, images, etc. It’s a standard setup for any WordPress theme/site.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks Justin

Hello Justin Thanks fr guide , i have added the menu successfully , but iam unable to add icons with menu and also plz guide me how to add sub category in the main menu category .. Hope to have a feedback soon Best Regards

Siiimple

Hi there,

This is also in the documentation. Make sure to check it out. It has a list of all the icons. Use the css classes for menu items to just add an icon. For example, if you have a menu item named “Home”, in the css class you would put – “icon-home”. There’s some screenshots and info that will prove helpful listed in the documentation.

Thanks! Justin

HI,

excellent looking theme. few suggestions to make it more usable:

1. 300px sidebar 2. fixed menubar 3. i think there is lots of unwanted whitespace in header area above and below logo/banner. 4. buddypress

Best Regards
