Valor responsive WordPress Theme

Hi FoxSash

Excellent theme — it really is a thing of beauty. I want to buy this theme, and I have 2 questions before purchasing:

1. How to get the graphs that you have under the ‘About Us’ section of the demo page. These are for SEO, web programming etc.

2. Is the theme SEO ready or SEO friendly?

This theme is terrible. For starters the documentation has incorrect information making it hard to use the shortcode. For example, the [well] code just simply doesn’t work and neither does the image shortcode for the icons. Changing the header tags in the theme’s setting doesn’t do anything. I had to hunt down and hack the CSS. You can’t arrange blocks in any complicated layouts, only vertically or horizontally, not a mix. The blocks don’t align to be the same height and you can’t even use BR or P tags to add space so that they align at the bottom. It appears some sort of whitespace removal is going on. I had to actually add div tags into the editor with inline styles to force each block to a custom height so they would line up. The CSS is terribly messy and a pain to troubleshoot. If you are buying this theme to save money, just code it yourself from scratch. It’ll take less time than hacking someone’s poorly executed code. The only positive is that it scales well on mobile devices. It actually looks better on an iPhone than a monitor. One last thing, it seems like the developer is including the large icons in the theme but in reality only the small icons are available. Padding and margins are not easy to work with either in this theme I had to hack the CSS to get things to space out the way I thought it should have been set up in the first place. I didn’t even use the Portfolio section and had to build my own gallery using a different lightbox and slider which works much better. I probably missed a few points, but I’ve spent enough time working with this theme. After this it’s going in the bin.

Don’t know why they are not flushed left and aligned like in your demo site.

2. The [well] shortcode is not working. Any suggestions?

This theme just does not work. It’s full of bugs, issues and nothing works as it should. Hats off to FoxSash for trying and spending all the time accessing the site’s backend, trying to fix bugs and very basic errors, one by one, but this isn’t the way to go. I’ve spent the best part of two days trying to get this theme to work and fixed. This theme fails misserably!

I have to say, given my prior comment and concerns. FoxSash, after a lot of hard work and effort, sorted the issues out to a suitable and happy conclusion. Thank You FoxSash, your hard work is very much appreciated.

I think that the theme is currently not supporting the latest wordpress update. The theme is breaking the upload image call. Please look at this screenshot: http://postimage.org/image/d9omoqfwl/

When I upload a image, sometimes, it shows this error. It shows this error ALL THE TIME when I attempt to upload an image to a product category using Woocommerce. In my previous theme, this worked. I disabled all plugins and I still had the same problem. When I upload an image to the blog, it works really well, so it’s definitely something to do with WooCommerce (which I’ve also left a support ticket).

I need this fix immediately (you can see the problem here: schweizseo.ch/shop/). You can see that the images in the product pages are working real well, except the product category (the main /shop/ page).

Great theme nevertheless, I hope we can fix this soon!

I fixed the problem Fox, and yes, the problem was with the theme. I don’t think you realize that. Somehow the latest new WP version is meant to be ultra secure requesting double permissions from even the administrator. The theme worked perfectly during the blog image insertions and portfolio images, but failed with the woocommerce. I attempted the same image upload using Twenty Twelve theme and it worked fine, I activated Valor and then valor messed up, it didn’t work with Valor.

In conclusion, valor isn’t updated for the image upload functions. As you can see, your theme isn’t the only one suffering from that. You can see the error in more detail from various user comments here: http://wordpress.org/tags/cheatin-uh.

I fixed it, how? Well, after activating the 2012 theme, I uploaded the images I needed then activated valor, the images were working then. I stil had the cheatin’ uh error, but since the images I uploaded were there, I didn’t need to update the image (or else I woudln’t eb able to).

Nice theme, just bought it I need some help plz, is there a way to change in the blog page the size of an post, like one large and one small in a row, or one main blog post for one row ?

Hi Fox Sash A quick question: on your demo site there are badges on the top right of some columns (a heart-shaped red badge) and a (green badge with he word ‘new’ on it.) How do I get these to appear on my site? Couldn’t find it in the help sheet. Cheers.

Hi FoxSash, I’ve purchased your theme: it’s amazing. I have only a little problem, when I set a page with “Homepage Portfolio” I have this error

Hi FoxSash, On smaller screens (tablet) or low resolution screens the left menu, set to fixed position, is only partly visible (i.e. only the upper part). Can you solve this issue? Thanks.
