Hi, yes the theme properly implements the WP 3 menu system using the wp_nav_menu() and the theme_location param (set as “header_menu”).

Keep in mind that these might not be the only requirements for the megamenu to work, you still might need custom CSS in order to properly display the menu in the theme.

you have 2 options, either edit each post and set a custom excerpt in the “excerpt” field (you can also use the WordPress “more” tag to break the post into a summary) or if you have a lot of posts and don’t want to edit them all, edit the file content.php and replace the 2 occurrences of the_content() with the_excerpt()

Hi, when looking at your site I see several javascript errors that are most likely caused by a plugin that is activated. Try disabling plugins one by one and refresh the home page to see if it starts working.

Hi, that’s a bug and I’ll fix it in the next update. Meanwhile edit the file /library/LayerSlider/slider.php and look for the following code on line 151:

do_shortcode(stripslashes($sublayer['html']))

Then replace it with:

unisphere_run_shortcode(do_shortcode(stripslashes($sublayer['html'])))

Hi, from looking at your site’s blog page I believe that you aren’t displaying all categories on that page which causes your most recent post to not display.

Edit your blog page and on the “Blog” toggle of the “Vanguard Page Settings” make sure that you select all your blog categories.

Hi, the author name is controlled by WordPress, not the theme. Go to the WordPress admin dashboard and click the “Users » Your profile” link, then change the First and Last name.

1) Yes you can display individual sliders in any page, post or portfolio item.

2) You have 2 options, use a normal 960px width slider or a fullwidth 1920px max width slider. If using the LayerSlider you can choose the background color as well.

3) Yes it is, I’ve made sure to use proper HTML headings for a good in page SEO.

4) It supports the default WordPress tag cloud widget.

5) Yes you can choose several colors available in different parts of the theme, see more here: http://vanguard.unispheredesign.com/features/skins-manager/

6) I’m afraid not, that’s one feature that could potentially be useful to very few users.

7) Renaming the wp-content folder could cause the skin CSS to break, I don’t recommend this.

The main things are 1) SEO, 2) changing menu style 3) Widgets and 4) 3rd party plugins

1) Most modern theme has good on page SEO through the use of heading tags (H1, H2, H3, etc) and Vanguard follows these rules.

2) In the theme options you can change several styles for the top menu: the font, size and weight (bold, normal, italic), and uppercase.

3) The theme includes custom widgets for displaying Popular Posts, Recent Posts, Popular Portfolio Items, Recent Portfolio Items, Twitter, Flickr, Contact Form, Social Icons and a Sub-pages menu of top parent page.

4) From the feedback I’ve had from this theme and others that I have for sale, I don’t remember having any problems with 3rd party plugins.

Regarding the slider effects question, the theme slider only supports fading transitions, for more customization options you should use the LayerSlider bundled with the theme.

Hi, you are correct, the sub-header slider overrides the sub-header bar but if you want to show both edit the file sub-header.php and on line 14 you’ll find the following code:

if( isset( $custom['_page_sub_header_style'][0] ) && $custom['_page_sub_header_style'][0] != '' && !( isset( $custom['_page_show_slider'][0] ) && $custom['_page_show_slider'][0] == '1' ) )

Replace it with this line:

if( isset( $custom['_page_sub_header_style'][0] ) && $custom['_page_sub_header_style'][0] != '' )

Hi, you’ve setup almost everything correct but since the theme supports having multiple independent blog pages you need to go to the READING options and on the “posts page” leave it unselected (don’t select any page).
