I am sorry to read that you been through such a hassle. After building and saving a Revolution Slider you can select it in the page options http://screencast.com/t/ECxa3F25xUyd if your prefer it to be over the content (please no “force fullwidth” slide here, it will be fullwidth by default). If you want it in the content you could include it via the shortcode select box http://screencast.com/t/sx8q7OFW if you are a WP purist or with the Visual Composer http://screencast.com/t/07uJK1YknNxN if you prefer a more comfortable way.

I hope you can include the slider now where you want it to be.

Hi there – still learning the theme but slowly getting there.

One problem I seem to be having is with the full width background. When I add a full width background to a row I was expecting the image/background to only be for the content in that row. If I add another row I was thinking that would have no background, unless I add one.

In my playing around it seems that the image for the full width background flows from the row that it is in to all other subsequent rows as well. As en example: http://velocity.stlbrits.com/registers/mg-1100-1300/ you see the image continues to show into the 2 following rows which I have added and put in just a simple text box in each row.

So far the only way I have found to stop this is to put in another full width background and basically make it blank and colored white which is what I had to do in this page example to stop the image from moving into the row below the tabbed content I created: http://velocity.stlbrits.com/mg-driver/

Is this how it really works or am I doing something wrong? I couldn’t find anything in the doc that covered this situation.

Did you start with the theme by installing demo data? This will give you the examples to look at.

Here is an explanation of how the backgrounds work:

1. Each background element will span either to the end of the page or until the next background element starts.

2. If you want the regular white background to continue after content in a background element, just add another background element with white background color.

This structure will provide the greatest amount of flexibility.

Hello,

I’m having an issue with my velocity theme. However, we are working internally on the website, so I’m afraid I can’t give you the link to access the website.

What’s happening is that we have a main menu with some clickable submenus, and in one of our pages, we applied a background image with the element “Velocity background”. The main menu is visible, and so is the submenu, but is not clickable, it appears to be behind the background.

Any ideias on solving this?

How can I change the color of buttons to match the colors of my logo? Either the velocity buttons or the regular ones. I need seven customized colors. I’ve tried custom CSS but no luck on buttons.

Hi,

the primary button will always use the highlight color you set in theme options.

In the style.css line 1527+ you can edit all buttons styles.

You can put the style changes into the custom css box of the theme options if you want to keep changes throughout theme updates.

Great theme!

I have a question and a tip: Tip: If the menu on your site goes skewed after you update the template, UNCHECK the “Main Menu Navigation” option at the bottom, Save the menu. Then check it again and save again…it goes back to normal.

My question is – is it possible to alter a setting so that the “Direct Link” option in the portfolio makes the linked page open in the same window? (Currently they open a new Tab in the browser) As “pages” rather than portfolio entries are easier to format using the visual editor, I am just wanting to use the portfolio as a nice way of sorting and presenting the pages.

Concerning the menu: Could you tell us which version of the theme you are running?

We currently have no option implemented to open the portfolio links in the same window. Will do so in a coming update :)

You can also change this yourself with a small mod: Via ftp navigate to your wp installations plugins folder /velocityVCaddons/velocityVCaddons.php and edit the link target in line 975 from “_blank” to “_top”

Thanks for the fast response! I had just updated (using the Envato Tools) from the original version theme to version 1.4.2. The menu ended up down the right hand side of the screen as basic text links. I noted that you had advised to save the menu once, but that didn’t work. It was only after I unchecked it, saved it and checked it again / saved that it went back to normal.

Thanks for the tip with the mod, that sounds easy enough to do. :)

I’d like to show portfolio items grouped by category. I’ve made my own page template, and I’m using essentially the same code as the portfolio.php

What can I change to divide posts into categories, and get Category headings over each section?

Normally I would add a criteria to the get_posts() call, but the portfolio.php template is using a custom Velocity call! How should I insert criteria?

Ideally, my code would look like:

get_posts(cat=1) (show posts) get_posts(cat=2) (show posts)

I get this error when i install woocomerce: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes)

I can not use the visual box to add text? I can not find the error.

that was introduced with a woo commerce update. We will add a fix to the coming update :)

If you want a quick fix, you can add this to the themes js/screen.js file:

when i selected a boxed theme i cannot get the menu to stay at the top of the screen – i checked the check box for the sticky header but it still scrolls off…if i switch to wide screen it does shrink and stick.

I think there may be an issue with the Woo Commerce integration. I can’t tell exactly when the change happened but now on any quantity box I am seeing double adjustment buttons next to the box containing the quantity number.

The quantity number is getting covered over and you immediately to the right of the quantity up and down arrow links to change the quantity and then, immediately next to them are, what I think was the original style, plus and minus buttons to change the quantity.

I didn’t see this when I first added WC to the Velocity theme and WC version was 2.0.20 from memory. I recently updated to WC 2.1.1 and then to 2.1.2 which I am on currently.

1. You don’t have to buy the plugin extra. Its licensed for usage within the theme and works without any drawbacks. You can buy it if you want the plugin to receive automatic updates though.

2. Go to settings -> visual composer and activate it for the portfolio custom post types.

thanks for the feedback, we are on the tickets right now. I do not see any ticket longer in the queue than a few hours, that is strange.

We always answer at least within 24 hours (mostly way faster, within a few hours) except for weekends. If you do not receive an answer for a few hours on a monday it means that there are other people having tickets too or we are sleeping at night ;) . We have to work chronologically through all tickets since we want to be fair to everybody.

Basically all flickr plugins will work if they are coded to work with the latest wordpress version :) Plugins that are not coded according to wordpress standards might of course cause problems.

10 menu items will most likely not fit into the top level of the menu (depending on the word length). Be aware that the smaller resolutions also need to display nicely. If there are too many entries, the menu will break into a second line, which is of course not as aesthetically pleasing as one line.

From a usability standpoint, we would suggest to use put that many menu items into a megamenu / regular submenu.

I have purchased the theme and is working well, thank you.

I have however, encountered the same problem as the gentleman above (jaydebrown) regarding the 404 error messages after creating a new portfolio via the portfolio manager.

He posted: “Hi i have created new portfolio via portfolio manager, and renamed the slug. After creating my new portfolio pages, i get 404 errors, when viewing them, however when setting up the latest projects module using the visual composer the title and featured image appear, but the filters belong to the demo portfolio”

Is there a fix for the above mentioned issue, please help.

Are you using a custom permalink structure as opposed to the standard id based one?

Your server needs to support pretty permalinks in order to function properly. Please see under pretty permalinks on how to modify your htaccess file (your webhoster might also be able to do this for you): http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks

Sometimes, its also sufficient to set the permalinks back to default, save and back to the custom structure.
